Justine Marjan, an Instagram-famous hair stylist known especially for her frequent use of hair accessories on her clients, is partnering with Kitsch to launch her own accessory line. This will Marjan’s first time designing hair accessories, and the products will be anything but subtle. The collection includes chunky, crystal-encrusted hair pins and clips that are sure to make a statement.
Marjan’s collaboration with Kitsch is called Too Glam to Give a Damn. There are five hair accessories in the collection, four of which spell out words in giant rhinestone letters—FEELINGS, DAMN, DRIPPIN, and GLAM. The remaining piece is a set of twelve classic rhinestone bobby pins, perfect for a big night out.
While other brands have created hair accessories like this at a high price (such as Gucci’s $400 hair pin), Marjan’s mission was to make her products affordable. The individual hair pins are priced at $29 and the set of bobby pins are priced at $49. The stylist also wanted the clips to be easy for anyone to use for any occasion. The pins can be dressed up for a party or dressed down for a night in at home. “It’s perfect for those who don’t feel super comfortable styling their own hair or are at a loss with what to do with their hair,” Marjan said.
Marjan also told Allure that the clips are perfect for all hair types. She said that the rhinestone bobby pins are great for pinning hair around the ears on natural hair. The statement pins are best used in front of the hair to hold down a center part, but they also look great when added to a ponytail holder for some extra glam.
Marjan often uses accessories to add statement to her clients’ hairstyles. She often works for celebrities, such as Khloe Kardashian and Ashley Graham. In the past, some of her work has included leather-cuffed ponytails and braided scarves. Marjan tested out her new products on Elle Ferguson for the People’s Choice Awards this past weekend. Marjan styled Ferguson’s hair in beachy waves and added a DRIPPIN clip, a GLAM clip, and two rhinestone bobby pins behind Ferguson’s left ear. The accessories turned a simple hairstyle into an elegant red-carpet look.
