Grand Theft Auto Online has been out for over 6 years now (released October 1, 2013), but it’s still going strong and has a huge player base. That’s because Rockstar Games is great at offering players upgrades and awesome events where they can get some of the coolest, most exclusive cars in the game.
Every supercar and hypercar in GTA Online is based on a real-life supercar, which makes them that much cooler to own. Many of them have aspects from multiple supercars that actually exist, which is why we’d love to see some of them in real life.
With incredible graphics and a great engine, GTA Online has shown that it knows what it’s doing when it comes to creating some of the coolest cars in video game history.
Here are 20 GTA cars we wish were real.
20 Dewbauchee Vagner
Grand Theft Auto gets away with copying a lot of cars and renaming them, and the Dewbauchee Vagner is no different. It’s clearly an attempt at mimicking the Aston Martin Valkyrie supercar, which is a $3.2-million car capable of 1,000 hp thanks to its 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, and a top speed of 250 mph. In GTA Online, the Vagner costs $1,535,000.
19 Progen Itali GTB
The original GTB was featured in the first GTA game and based on the Ferrari 348 GTS, but the new Progen Itali GTB 27 that’s featured in GTA Online is more akin to the McLaren 570GT (the front and rear façade) and the Trion Nemesis (the rest of the body). It’s one of the fastest and best handling AWD cars in the game, and it’ll run you $1.2 million.
18 Pegassi Tezeract
The Pegassi Tezeract looks very much like a suped-up Lamborghini, with some styling cues from the Tomahawk. This car has a Downforce Modifier in it that gives it a stock speed of 126 (very fast for in-game). With all of its upgrades, this electric car is the fastest car in all of GTA, so it would be awesome to see it in real life. It’ll run you a whopping $2,825,000 to get your hands on it, though, making it one of the most expensive car in GTA Online!
17 Overflod Autarch
The Overflod Autarch might look a bit like a sci-fi machine, but it’s based on an SCG 003, a design by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. The performance on this car might not be able to reach 200 mph like the SCG, but it can hit 132 without upgrades. You can upgrade it even more without sacrificing downforce. The “Absolute Ruler,” as the name is translated, costs $1,955,000.
16 Pegassi Infernus Classic
The Pegassi Infernus Classic, which is clearly a Lamborghini Countach, was released in 2017 for GTA Online, but it was released as buggy as could be. Many Redditors complained that their Infernus couldn’t make proper left turns, and a faulty tire was believed to have caused the glitch. With a hefty price tag of $915,000, this put quite a damper on a lot of people’s dream car.
15 Grotti X80 Proto
The Grotti X80 Proto is another supercar based on a real life supercar, the Ferrari F80 concept. With its 200 mph top speed and insanely cool appearance, it’s one of the fastest cars in the game and one of the prettiest, too. It’s also one of the most expensive, at $2.7 million, but if you have the cash, this science fiction-mobile could be yours. We just wish we had one in real life!
14 Progen Tyrus
The Progen Tyrus is a speed demon supercar that’s based on the McLaren GTR. This monster of a car was part of the “Cunning Stunts” DLC which included a track that looks like a Hot Wheels set. This car has great handling, a top speed of 180 mph with its V8 engine, and it costs $2,550,000, making it about the fifth most expensive car in the game.
13 Cheval Taipan
According to the game, the Cheval Taipan hypercar was designed completely by computer, although it looks eerily similar to the Hennessey Venom V5, which is one of the fastest cars in the world in real life. This modern speed machine has excellent traction and a top speed of just under 200 mph, though its acceleration is a bit lacking. Its price tag is $1,980,000.
12 Coil Cyclone
The Coil Cyclone is one of the smoothest looking supercars in the game, with its enviable curves and sleek lines. It’s the standout car from the “Smuggler’s Run” DLC, and was pushed in the promotional works as “the harbinger of the electric age.” The car is mostly based on the Rimac Concept, with some influences from the Koenigsegg Agera (two of the fastest cars in the world). It has the fastest acceleration of any car in the game (0-60 mph in just two seconds), and costs $1,890,000.
11 Grotti Visione
We take back what we just said: the Grotti Visione is another standout from the “Smuggler’s Run” pack that we’d be remiss not to mention. This $2,250,000 hypercar is inspired by the McLaren P1 GTR, with the sides of the Ferrari LaFerrari. The Visione’s powerful engine allows it to accelerate from 0-60 mph very quickly, and with upgrades it’s one of the fastest cars in the game.
10 Overflod Tyrant
The Overflod Tyrant is another supercar we’d love to see in real life, and it comes with the classic description of “as close as human beings can get to installing a gear shift and a steering wheel in front of a hurricane.” It’s based on the Apollo Arrow and Apollo Intensa Emozione, and its front bumper is similar to the 2017 Ford GT. It’ll run you $2,515,000 to buy.
9 Annis S80RR
As it looks, the Annis S80RR is an endurance race car that’s part of "The Diamond Casino & Resort" update. Its style is taken from the Nissan R90C, with headlights from the Jaguar XJR-9. Legendary Motorsports will tell you that the S80RR is meant to “be the predominant endurance racer of its era." The only sad part is that its price tag is $2.7 million.
8 Overflod Entity XXR
This awesome supercar sold by Legendary Motorsports is a fantastic Swedish vehicle that combines aspects of the Koenigsegg One and Agera R. Its aggressive styling gives it a top speed of 135 mph, but closer to 200 mph with upgrades, and its straight-line performance is one of the highest in the game. It costs $2,305,000 to buy, which is probably about what it would cost in real life, too.
7 Benefactor Krieger
The Krieger by Benefactor is a concept hypercar that was released just last month (September 12, 2019) during the Krieger Week event. It’s based on the Mercedes-AMG One, as well as the Honda NSX (second gen) and Audi LMS GT3. It’s the most expensive car in the game we’ve found, costing $2,875,000, and GTA5Rides.com gave it the #2 “lap time rank” out of any car, at 00:57:858, just behind the Progen Emerus.
6 Truffade Thrax
The Truffade Thrax is another hypercar that released with "The Diamond Casino & Resort" update. This one is clearly based on a Bugatti, most notably a Divo (track-focused supercar) or a Chiron. It’s also similar to the Vision Gran Turismo. It costs $2,325,000 in-game, and performance speeds in a league of its own, as well as impeccable grip, according to the GTA Wiki Fandom.
5 Albany Lurcher
The Albany Lurcher may not be a fast supercar, but we’d still love to see this stylish hearse in real life. It came out as part of the "Halloween Surprise" update. It’s built on the chassis of a Buccaneer, with a hearse compartment similar to the 1967 Cadillac Funeral Coach. This one will cost you more than any hearse you’ve ever seen in real life, at $650,000!
4 Truffade Nero Custom
The Truffade Nero Custom is a direct rip-off of the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo— with even a similar paint job. This custom hypercar was released as part of the "Import/Export" update in 2016, and though it only costs $605,000, it’s one of the fastest vehicles in the game at stock, tied with the X80 Proto in a straight line.
3 Bravado Banshee 900R
The Banshee 900R is a wide-body variant of the Banshee, released in GTA Online as part of the January 2016 update. Like the Banshee, it’s clearly based off the Dodge Viper or SRT Viper. It’ll run you $565,000. It has a sluggish top speed, but with all of its upgrades it’s one of the fastest cars in the game, beating out most supercars and hypercars thanks to the extreme multipliers the EMS Engine upgrades have in comparison to other cars.
2 Pfister 811
The Pfister 811 is a hypercar featured in the Pfister 811 Week event from 2016. The $1,135,000-car is based on the Porsche 918, with the rear fascia and rear lights of a Koenigsegg Regera. This curvy beast has a top speed faster than the X80 Proto, Adder, and even Banshee 900R, making it the fastest supercar in the game and extremely competitive in races with long straights. According to GTA5Rides.com, it has the #1 top speed (132.5 mph) and #31 lap time rank of any car.
1 Progen Emerus
The Progen Emerus was released a couple months ago (August 15, 2019, during the "Emerus Week" event). This insane hypercar costs $2,750,000, but it’s one of the best cars in the game. It’s almost identical to the 2019 McLaren Senna, with a front reminiscent of the Ferrari FXX-K. According to GTA5Rides.com, it is the #1 supercar in the game, with a #1 lap time rank of 00:57.823, and a #6 top speed of 127.3 mph.
