Children of the '90s, take deep breaths, and maybe sit down.
Beverly Hills 90210 is getting a reboot.
We know. We cannot even process this level of awesomeness either. Our favorite teenage show is making a comeback, and this won't be just another attempt at recreating greatness. This next addition will include six of the original cast members.
Six of them! Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestly, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling, and Gabrielle Carteris will all be making appearances as heightened versions of themselves. The reboot is scheduled to hit the television airwaves in August, but until then let's take a look at how much our favorite California friends have changed and the kids they're raising off-screen.
Jennie Garth played blonde beauty Kelly Taylor in the original Beverly Hills 90210. She has come a long way from her days of bleached out hair and cropped top outfits. These days Kelly stays busy with her three daughters whom she shares with her ex-husband Peter Facinelli and working both in front of the camera and behind. Per goodhousekeeping.com, she and her 90210 co-star Tori Spelling were the masterminds behind this epic reboot.
Tori Spelling played the squeaky clean Donna Martin and dual rostered as the daughter of the original show's creator, Aaron Spelling. After 90210 ended its run on television, Tori went on to star in several made-for-television movies and got hitched. She is now married for a second time, to another small screen actor, Dean McDermott. The couple has five children and a rollercoaster of a marriage between them.
Oh, Brenda! Shannen Doherty played one-half of the notorious Walsh twins during her time on 90210. She and Brendan were the transplants to sunny California. Aside from being Brandon Walsh's twin, she was Dylan's McCay's (played by Luke Perry) number one girl for a while. More than a few girls were jealous of Doherty. Shannen recently underwent a brave battle with cancer and is now in remission. Due to her cancer scare, though, Doherty is scared of what it means to have kids in the future. She does have a couple of fur babies, though! (Hey, being a dog mom counts, right?)
Jason Priestley, aka Brandon Walsh, was one of the more level headed 90210 youngsters. He was the group's voice of reason and steady soul throughout the show's run. After the series fizzled, Priestly went on to manage a couple of projects behind the scenes. Aside from sitting in the director's chair, he's been married twice and plays dad to two daughters.
Brian Austin Green played spoiled rich kid David Silver in the Beverly Hills 90210 series. He spent many seasons begging his onscreen girlfriend Donna, played by Tori Spelling, to make a man out of him. Eventually, he got plenty of play. These days, he is doing another kind of play, like riding bikes and stacking blocks with his young sons. Green has four sons; one with his former co-star Vanessa Marcil and three with his wife, Megan Fox.
Thiessen went from Queen of the Teen TV Shows to Queen of the Kitchen. After starring in both '90s series, Saved By The Bell and Beverly Hills 90210, she went on to a life far more domestic. Tiffani is a mom to two children with her husband Brady Smith and has her own show, Dinner At Tiffani's, that airs on The Cooking Channel.
Ian Ziering is no longer the flirty guy that he portrayed on 90210. Ziering, who played Steve, was known for his wandering eye and love of the ladies. Offscreen, Ziering made waves acting alongside Tara Reid in the Sharknado franchise. He is now married, for a second time, to Erin Ludwig, and the pair has two young daughters.
Carteris played brainy and opinionated Andrea Zuckerman on the original Beverly Hills 90210 show and decades later that passion and opinion is still a part of her being. Carteris recently lobbied for ages to be removed from casting sites like IMDb, noting that ageism is a very real and negative thing in Hollywood. Aside from her work to level the acting playing fields, she has done voiceover work for video games and cartoons after leaving the series.
Kathleen Robertson was not one of the series' primary stars, but she made her mark as Clair Arnold from 1994 to 1997. In her post 90210 days, she landed roles in Scary Movie 2 (alongside co-star Tori Spelling), XX/XY, Nowhere Along (with another former co-star Shannen Doherty), and in Hollywoodland. Robertson recently added wife and mother to her resume, marrying her husband in 2004 and welcoming her son into the world in 2008.
Jamie Walters landed his role of Ray Pruit after his work on another Aaron Spelling show called The Heights. He only worked on 90210 for two seasons before leaving television to pursue his musical aspirations.
In 2002, Walters decided to become a firefighter/paramedic with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and it was working in that field where he met his wife, Patty. The couple had three children together before deciding to part ways.
Vanessa Marcil came onto the 90210 scene in 1998 as Gina Kincaid, but in terms of acting experience, she was no newbie. She had previously starred on General Hospital as Brenda Barrett. When the series ended, Marcil and co-star Brian Austin Green had a child together but parted ways shortly after their son's birth. She married for a second time (her first time was to child actor Corey Feldman in 1993), but that marriage ended in divorce as well. Per marriedbiography.com, this raven-haired beauty is set to marry once more.
Lindsay Price will always be known as the girl who finally managed to nail Steve down and get him to commit to marriage and family. Following Beverly Hills 90210, Price worked on the hit soap, The Bold and the Beautiful, as well as popular television shows like Pepper Dennis, Lipstick Jungle, and Black-ish. Price is now married to celebrity chef Curtis Stone, and the couple has two sons.
Christine Elise played bad girl Emily Valentine for several 90210 seasons. She also dated the show's lead actor, Jason Priestley, for five years. Elise has worked on several projects after leaving the show including, ER, Child's Play 2, and Cult of Chuckie. Elise also appeared in the TV movie Vanishing Point and short-lived Fox show L.A. Firefighters. While Elise, doesn't appear to have children herself, she's a true vegan and dog mama.
We had to close this article out with a solid tribute to our dear Dylan McKay. Sadly, he will not be reprising his role on the reboot as he recently and unexpectedly passed on. Perry's passing shook Hollywood and fans alike, and he will be sorely missed. Perry left behind two children, a son named Jack and a daughter named Sophie.
Young played Noah Hunter for two seasons, and during that time he landed quite the prize. For a time he was dating Tori Spelling in real life, but the romance flame went out after the series ended. Following 90210, Hunter had roles on CSI: NY and NCIS and a few other small movie projects. These days the former heartthrob dabbles in oil painting and enjoys traveling, and not much is known about his family life.
