Every time you look for a new skincare product, it seems as though there's a brand new company fighting for your attention (and of course, money). Whether you're on the hunt for a cleanser, face mask, moisturizer, or another skincare product not listed, being dominated by company after company will no doubt make that search harder and more frustrating. All you want is to find a decent product that's good for your skin. Perhaps this will be the answer that you've been looking for.
As revealed by Allure, Four Sigmatic- the company behind all their healthy mushroom coffee packs- launched their skincare on Thursday, January 17th. The collection in itself is tiny- only two products currently exist. But the attention and care put in already shows from the ingredient list that they each boast.
When creating these skincare products, Four Sigmatic's founder Tero Isokauppila focused heavily on using the purest, most natural ingredients that she could get her hands on. By going through the various adaptogens, mushrooms, and other superfoods that already go into the company's coffee products, Isokauppila created skincare items so pure, she insists that anyone could eat them if they so desire. While it's highly unlikely for anyone to go that far to use up a non-food item (skincare-related or otherwise), the fact that it's that non-toxic will surely bring some peace of mind to a lot of potential consumers.
The first product available is Mushroom Face Mask & Tonic, which costs $50 USD. It comes in a powder but quickly turns into a paste when mixed with water. It claims to purify the skin while soothing it at the exact same time. Its natural ingredients include activated charcoal, cacao, and ginger, just to name a few. Then there's the Superfood Serum for $55 USD. It's a lightweight oil that will leave your face glowing. Because it fights acne and excess oil while hydrating the skin, it's a great choice for those who have combination skin. The natural oils it contains include avocado, olive, and Tsubaki.
While some may be disappointed by Four Sigmatic's small launch, it's certainly a promising start for a company that's already quite successful. Isokauppila has said that should these initial offerings go over well with consumers, more will become available in the future. Here's hoping that everything works out for them!
