Could your favorite female vampire slayer, Buffy, be coming back to television? The network is reportedly talking about a revival.

According to Variety, Fox has been looking at bringing the hit show starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, back for a reboot. It is a topic of conversation head honchos at the network are constantly talking about... but will it actually happen?

“I think if you look in our library, Buffy is probably the most ripe show we have for bringing back. It’s something we talk about frequently, and Joss Whedon is really one of the greatest creators we ever worked with. When Joss decides it’s time, we’ll do it. And until Joss decides it’s time, it won’t happen,” shared Fox TV group chair Gary Newman.

The news that Fox was talking about a revival is exciting. However, since Fox is waiting for show creator Joss Whedon to green light the reboot, fans may never see Buffy back on the small screen. Last year, he revealed why he would likely never bring the show back.

“You bring something back, and even if it's exactly as good as it was, the experience can't be. Luckily most of my actors still look wonderful, but I'm not worried about them being creaky. I'm more worried about me being creaky as a storyteller. You don't want that feeling that you should have left before the encore. I don't rule it out, but I fear that, " Whedon explained when he was asked about a possible revival at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Fox show.

Gellar, who played Buffy, also shared her thoughts on a revival of the show that made her a household name.

"I'm sure the fans are incredibly disappointed to hear that answer, but I think they'd be more disappointed if we created something and it didn't live up to the expectation, because the expectation is so incredibly high," Gellar revealed at the anniversary event.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans shouldn’t get their hopes up that the show will be revved up any time soon. It looks like show's creator Joss Whedon and lead actress Sarah Michelle Gellar are not sure bringing the show back would be a good idea.
