Crop tops, short skirts, and sweet little scrunchies aside, the tennis arena has never had much to frenzy about in terms of fashion—until now.
Just a mere day after clenching the title for the 23rd time, the sports star can now add super savvy fashion designer to her über impressive and extensive resume of accomplishments. She has just launched her very own direct-to-consumer fashion collection of mood-boosting sportswear and evening wear, all expertly designed to help women dress their way to confidence.
The 36-year-old athlete/powerhouse entrepreneur, who has previously collaborated with HSN, Puma, and Nike, proudly debuted her new fashion line titled Serena, with a dozen-piece collection set to have additional releases throughout the summer and autumn. Expect a total of seventy-five new styles to come.
The collection includes easy-to-wear dresses, bottoms, and jackets. As well as more tailored pieces like fully-decked-out overalls with silver chains, a glittery metallic parka, a sexy olive-hued slip dress, and marvelously comfortable motivational pants. The not-at-all outrageously priced (ranging from $35-$250!) new athleisure line was, according to Williams, “inspired by femininity and strength.”
“I absolutely love this collection because it represents all the facets of my life as an athlete, an entrepreneur, and now, a mother,” Williams said in an official press release.
“We’re all on a journey that delights us with highs and challenges us with twists and turns, which shapes us into who we are and who we want to become. I’ve learned to embrace and celebrate this process of individual growth and dedicate this collection to all women who want to join me in showing the world our true selves.”
And we thank you, Serena, for your generosity and utterly applause-deserving inspiration.
The fierce combination of a brand new tennis win, fashion-forward and swoon-worthy new fashion line, plus her always-apparent power vibes both on and off the court will definitely continue to empower ladies of all shapes and sizes and ages. This line is certainly "strong, sexy, sassy", just like it was intended to be.
