Every now and then, we’ll stumble across an Instagram profile that makes us stop dead in our tracks. When you’re constantly on the lookout for the most talented MUA's and beauty bloggers out there, you just know when you’ve stumbled across a gem. Pastel-haired Italian beauty blogger Martina (@mrtndamex) has got it all. The tutorials, the flawless, yet unique aesthetic that goes down a storm here at The Talko, and a strong following of 67k. We had the pleasure of chatting to the makeup-loving blogger earlier this month about her style, what motivates her and how you can grow your online following.

The Talko (TT): Hi Martina! How would you describe your style? What makes you unique?

Martina (M): I would describe my style as always changing, but a flower child at heart! I love boho fashion so much. I’m unique because I don’t want to be like anybody else. I’m happy being me and I try to send this message to my followers. We are all beautiful and unique and we should appreciate ourselves.

TT: Your hair is absolutely stunning! What tips would you give someone looking to dye their hair pastel shades? What dyes do you use?

M: Thank you! My advice is always to go to a professional because they know what’s best! Once you learn and study on Google and YouTube (like I used to do) you can start doing it yourself. It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible either! Lately, I’m using Lime Crime hair dyes, I think they’re one of the best products out there. I recommend 10/10.

TT: Your makeup always looks flawless! What are your favorite products to use, and why?

M: I have so many favorite products to use! I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay, NYX, Lime Crime, Tarte and Mulac (an Italian brand this is my number one favorite, if you don’t know it you should definitely check it out).

TT: Have you ever had any exciting opportunities arise based on your beauty work?

M: Yes, absolutely! I had the opportunity to travel all over Europe to work with brands. When I was in LA I worked with many US brands, too. I love my job so much!

TT: On the flipside, have you ever faced any barriers?

M: I think at the beginning it was hard to make my friends and family realize that what I was doing was not a game, but the more I got job opportunities, the more they started realizing it was a serious thing. The moment my mom and dad realized I was actually doing something with my Instagram job was when my face started appearing in magazines!

TT: You have a great following on Instagram, what advice would you give to other bloggers/MUA’s on how to build their audience?

M: My advice is to be yourself and be honest with your followers. Believe in what you do and most of all LOVE what you do. Don't start a blogger career only for the fame and money, because you would just end up hating doing what you do. Only start it if you think you can make a difference out there and if you have something to say to people!

You can catch up with all of Martina’s incredible work on her Instagram and YouTube. You won’t want to miss a thing.
