Emma Stone is one of the most bankable actresses in Hollywood—and now we know how she maintains her killer figure.
Stone showcased her toned physique in 2017's Battle of the Sexes, starring as tennis legend Billie Jean King. Fans were impressed with her performance and her incredible figure, and now, her trainer Jason Walsh has revealed his secrets to POPSUGAR. "The butt has been the focal point of my training philosophy for a long, long time," he told them. "It's the largest muscle in the body."
To be able to really hone your figure, glutes are essential. Without the power there, it's unlikely you'll ever reach your goals. Walsh says that Stone "really embraces strength training in general," and he worked lifts, hip thrusts, squats, sled pushes and Bulgarian split squats into the training program. The pair worked out five times a week, focusing on strength-training. Walsh also worked with Stone throughout the filming of La La Land, which she starred in opposite Ryan Gosling. The all-singing-all-dancing number earned her the Best Actress Oscar at the 2017 ceremony (the stars first Academy Award).
Diet wise, the 29-year-old actress cuts sugar out of her eating regimen and always keeps it as clean as possible, working in whole foods and tons of vegetables. Stone isn't the only actress to opt for strength-focused workouts either. Hilary Duff shared her secrets with Cosmopolitan, saying, "A lot of jumping, medicine balls, deadlifts, hip thrusts. I'm a pretty strong little gal." Incidentally, Duff dated Walsh for a period after her divorce from Mike Comrie in 2016. Other clients of Walsh's include star of the Netflix series Glow, Alison Brie, and Justin Timberlake's wife, Jessica Biel.
