Duck Dynasty: 20 Things The Robertsons Have Been Up To Since The Show Ended

From 2012 to 2016, and through six seasons, Duck Dynasty was the most popular reality television show—not just on A&E, but in the world. It broke several ratings records on cable TV, including having 11.8 million viewers on its fourth-season premiere, making it the most-watched nonfiction cable series in history.

People loved tuning in every week to find out what the quirky, quacky (pun intended) Robertson family would get up to. The show focused less on the business side of Duck Commander (the family’s multimillion-dollar company), and more on the relationships between the family members, friends, and God.

Since the show ended on March 29, 2017, people have been wondering what’s happened to the Robertson family—including the father figures Phil and Si, Phil’s sons Jase, Willie, and Jep, their respective wives, and all their many kids.

We’re here to say that they’ve all been keeping very busy, and haven’t stayed out of the limelight for long! Here are 20 things the Robertsons have been up to since Duck Dynasty ended.

20 Uncle Si Started A Family Band

via YouTube/Kinkead Entertainment

Uncle Si was a great personality on Duck Dynasty. The iced-tea-addicted uncle to the Robertson kids had a way with words and a talent for storytelling, and now he’s expanded that by starting a family band. Uncle Si & the Sicotics includes him, his daughter-in-law Marsha Robertson, and Nashville singer-songwriter Bridgette Tatum. They released a self-titled EP in 2018, which included the single “As Seen on TV.”

19 Si Also Did Some Shows And Books

via A&E

Uncle Si also tried his hand at writing and viral video analysis, which he did with his nephew Willia Robertson in a short-lived spin-off series called Going Si-Ral. In 2017, he released a book called Si-renity: How I Stay Calm and Keep the Faith. This was his fourth book, following Si-cology 1: Tales and Wisdom from Duck Dynasty’s Favorite Uncle. He also appeared in an episode of Last Man Standing and landed parts in Faith of Our Fathers (2015 Christian movie), and VeggieTales: Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas.

18 Sadie Robertson Was On Dancing With The Stars

via TV Insider

Sadie Robertson grew up on Duck Dynasty, in front of everyone’s eyes. She went from being a kid to a beautiful young woman. The now-22-year-old appeared on Dancing with the Stars and in a music video for “The Long Way” with Brett Eldredge. Like Si, the daughter of Willie Robertson caught the music bug. She also caught the writing bug…

Sadie has appeared in a few films since the ending of Duck Dynasty, including God’s Not Dead 2 and I’m Not Ashamed, bringing her Christian roots to the forefront (like others in her family). She also penned the New York Times Bestseller, Live Original and the sequel Live Fearless. She also founded One Squad, a millennial-run organization that helps inspire young people to band together and make an impact on the world.

16 Phil Robertson Got Another Show

via BlazeTV

Phil Robertson got himself in some hot water after his anti-gay comments in a 2013 interview with GQ, which ended up suspending him from Duck Dynasty. But the suspension didn’t last long, and before long he was as popular as ever. In 2017, he starred in another show, a short-lived one called In the Woods with Phil, in which he “plans on rejecting ‘political correctness,’” according to Hollywood Reporter.

Since Duck Dynasty wrapped up, Phil Robertson also became more entrenched in the political game, doubling down on his views that got him suspended from the show. In 2013 he made a TV commercial endorsing Republican candidate Vance McAllister for the Robertson’s family’s home district in Louisiana. McAllister beat frontrunner state senator Neil Riser. He’s also appeared on all sorts of talk shows, with Fox, mainly.

14 Willie Robertson Opened A Diner

The main character of Duck Dynasty, Willie Jess Robertson, is still the CEO of the family’s successful company, but he’s also branched out. In September 2017, he re-opened his Louisiana diner called Willie’s Duck Diner. Unfortunately, it appears that the restaurant has been permanently closed since it was re-opened, despite having relatively good reviews on Yelp and such. It seems that not all of Willie's business ventures strike gold.

13 Willie Also Hosts Duck Commander Tours

Willie is not shy of expressing his religious beliefs. He and his wife Korie have always raised their six kids with God at the front of their lives, and they both appeared in small roles in the film God’s Not Dead. In July 2018, Willie announced that Duck Commander would be hosting tours on Sunday, for those who wanted to learn more about the business and show.

12 Jep Also Appeared On A Show With His Wife

via ABC News

Jep Robertson has had a great career since the ending of Duck Dynasty, where he was only a minor character for some of the seasons, before his role grew. His loyal following on the show earned him a spin-off called Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty, which followed him and his wife raising their children Lily, Merrit, Priscilla, River, and their newly adopted son, Jules.

Like many of the other stars of Duck Dynasty, Jep Robertson is no stranger to the camera. The show mentioned above also showcased his troubles with his pot-pie-themed food truck business. In January 2018, he opened a new food truck called Jep’s Southern Roots in Dripping Springs, Texas. Together with his wife Jessica, the successful food truck business is still running today.

10 Jase Robertson Donated His Beard To Charity

via Albany Daily News

Jase Robertson is a bit unrecognizable since he shaved his long, unkempt beard, but it was for a good cause. The eldest Robertson brother, a fan-favorite on the show—also the COO of Duck Commander—shaved his beard in September 2017 and the proceeds of the shaving went to his daughter Mia’s charity to benefit and raise awareness for cleft lips and palates.

9 Jase Has Helped Raise Awareness Of Birth Complications

Jase has been a strong advocate and voice for people living through birth complications. In 2014, he told Us Weekly about how his family dealt with Mia’s birth complication, saying, “It changed my perspective. I thought, here I am, worried about what she’s going to look like, while the doctors aren’t even sure if she can breathe on her own. From that moment on, I stopped being so superficial.”

8 Jase Visited Israel With Missy

via YouTube/Israel Collective

Jase Robertson seems a bit more tolerant than a few others in his family (though that intolerance takes on a certain, specific tone in people like Phil), which is evident when the former Duck Dynasty star visited Israel with Missy. He recounted to Us Weekly, “I was surrounded by BEAUTY.” Willie and Korie Robertson also lead a tour called “Israel Encounter,” which promises to “experience the Holy Land like never before,” and costs between $3,000 and $5,000.

7 Korie Robertson Wrote A Book Too

Willie Jess Robertson’s beautiful wife has been no slouch, either, just like the rest of the family. Besides helping to raise their six children, the daughter-in-law of Phil Robertson took her monetized her mothering skills after Duck Dynasty ended and published a parenting book called Strong and Kind: Raising Kids of Character, in 2017. She sang on her family’s Christmas album, Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas, and publicly stood up for her father-in-law’s controversial GQ magazine comments.

6 Missy Robertson Has Kept Up Her Online Presence

via Today Show

Missy Robertson has stayed in the limelight in a different way than many of her family members. She prefers to remain behind the scenes, and as such she’s become a successful blogger and has kept up with her online presence. She also wrote a series of books under the name Princess in Camo, with her and Jase’s daughter, Mia, which is a “fictional take on what it was like filming reality television with family.”

5 Missy Has Also Started Her Own Line Of Jewelry

The blogger and mother has stayed busy outside of the writing world, too, and has taken her business skills to the bank. She stayed her own jewelry line called Laminin by Missy Robertson. As her mission statement says, “Laminin by Missy Robertson is a jewelry line that provides jobs and hope for women when they need it.” It has over 25,000 followers on Facebook.

4 Kay Robertson Runs An Eatery

via YouTube/LouAna Oils

Kay Robertson, the beloved matriarch of the Robertson family and Phil’s loving wife, continues to run an eatery in West Monroe, called Miss Kay’s Sweets & Eats, where she offers her famous pies and other treats (such as gelato and lunch specials). Always praised for her cooking skills, Miss Kay has leveraged her skills on the show, and her entrepreneurial spirit.

3 John Luke Robertson Wrote A Book Too

via Newslocker

It seems like every member of the Duck Dynasty family has written a book or two, and for good reason: they all seem to become bestsellers. Willie and Korie’s oldest son, John Luke Robertson, wrote one called Young and Beardless: The Search for God, Purpose, and a Meaning Life, back in 2016. He’s also stayed busy in other ways since the end of the show…

2 John Luke Also Got Married And Is Into Instagram

via The Knot News

One of the hot topics of Duck Dynasty was John Luke’s relationships with girls, and Willie’s attempts to suss out any potential mates or wrongdoers. Millions of fans tuned in to watch John Luke tie the knot with his bride, Mary Kate. Willie, of course, presided over the ceremony. The then-19-year-old admitted he didn’t know what “The One” meant on Mary Kate’s blog, “The Little Duck Wife.” John Luke has stayed incredibly busy on Instagram, too, becoming an influencer with over 845,000 followers.

1 Rebecca Robertson Had A Baby

via Us Weekly

Rebecca Robertson, the 31-year-old Taiwanese foster child of Willie and Korie Robertson, and wife to John Reed Loflin, welcomed their first baby to this world in January 11, 2018. The couple announced the exciting news on Instagram, sharing pictures of their baby boy. The 31-year-old has also kept in touch with her fan base, constantly sharing things to her 572,000 Instagram followers.
