Demi Lovato is shutting down the haters, and rightfully so! The Disney star that featured in films such as Camp Rock has come a heck of a long way from when we were first introduced to her. The stunning 25-year-old singer stopped by The Ellen Show on Jan. 15, 2018 to discuss everything from her recent documentary, upcoming tour and how she’s overcoming her body image issues through Instagram.
Lovato, who looked pretty in pink, gushed about her upcoming tour, titled the “Tell Me You Love Me Tour” with DJ Khaled and how she is super stoked to get back on the road. As excited as the artist may be, things have not always been smooth sailing. Ellen Degeneres discussed with Lovato her 2017 documentary Simply Complicated, which featured areas of the singer’s life that she hasn’t always felt comfortable sharing, including her struggle with an eating disorder.
Lovato told Degeneres how the documentary allowed her to deal with some of her inner demons head on, even if it did make her uncomfortable at times. Along with her captivating documentary, Lovato seems to be on a photo sharing kick on Instagram, displaying bikini shots of her looking better than ever, however, there is a reason behind the stars recent posts.
Lovato mentioned how she has been working on herself the past year and claims that she has “surrendered to the process of just learning to love yourself”. When the talk show host asked about the bathing suit pictures, Lovato was quick to let Degeneres know that she wants her fans to be able to know that they too can reach a level of self-love.
The self-proclaimed perfectionist mentioned how she too still is her biggest critic, especially when it comes to posting online, but she refuses to let that stop her! Lovato continued on saying how she has gotten to a space where she is happy not only with who she is, but what she looks like as well.
If we didn’t love her already, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer admitted that she no longer listens to the haters, and when she does come across a negative comment, she doesn’t feel bad about herself, but more for those who take the time to leave such crude remarks. Her motto when sharing is “it’s me, it’s who I am and I love my body. So I’m just going to post it”. Go, Demi! The “Tell Me You Love Me Tour” starts on Feb. 26, 2018 in San Diego and we wish Demi nothing but the best of luck.
