Demi Lovato went to an AA meeting instead of staying at the Met Gala, putting herself first before the glamorous event. However, the reason she had to go to a meeting proves even the famous singer is not exempt from bullying.

In 2016, Lovato had every intention of spending her evening at one of the most glamorous fashion events: the Met Gala. Instead of enjoying a wonderful night surrounded by fashionistas, the singer ended up at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting all because of very rude and entitled celebrity.

The 25-year-old, who is coming up on six years sober, recently shared with Billboard magazine she almost had a slip up at the Met Gala.

"I had a terrible experience. This one celebrity was a complete b---h and it was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink,” she shared.

Thanks to the help of her manager, Lovato was sitting in an AA meeting that evening and did not drink.

"I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on, millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting. And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala," the ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer revealed.

Two years later, as she gets ready to embark on a tour, Demi Lovato is opening up about her bad experience at the famed Met Gala. Although she never mentioned the celebrity that was rude to her, based on some social media posts from that night there is speculation Nicki Minaj was involved.

The two singers had an Instagram feud that started when Minaj didn’t mention Lovato in a post, even though she was in the picture. They took a photo with designer Jeremy Scott, but the 'Super Bass' singer only tagged Scott. Lovato alluded to the snub on Snapchat.

"When you aren't mentioned in a post but didn't do s--- to the person,” she said.

Fans may never know exactly why Demi Lovato left the Met Gala in 2016 to attend an AA meeting, but it is a good thing she did. The choice prevented her from a relapse.
