Mackenzie Ziegler, best known for her appearance as the youngest cast member on Dance Moms when she was 7 years old, is set to launch her very own beauty line called "Love, Kenzie" later this month.
At just 14 years old, Mackenzie already has acting, dancing, singing, writing, and modeling under her belt. Now, with her new line, she aims to inspire other young teens as they move through their own beauty journeys.
Love, Kenzie, which will officially drop on September 16th, was born out of Mackenzie’s experimentation with makeup at a young age. She shared with Teen Vogue in an interview that her older sister, Maddie Ziegler, now 15, used to do Mackenzie’s full competition makeup at 6 years old. Maddie, a Dance Moms veteran herself, would often find and recreate YouTube beauty tutorials. Mackenzie grew up watching Maddie’s makeup skills closely, and soon she began copying tutorials, too.
When developing the products for Love, Kenzie, Mackenzie often sought out Maddie’s input. According to Mackenzie, her sister has been incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. “She definitely helped with a lot of it and what colors needed to be in the palette or how I should brand this and everything,” Mackenzie said.
The line includes eyeshadow and cheek palettes, lip glosses, eyeliners, liquid eyeshadows, and highlighters. There is also a super-cute pink glitter makeup bag for all the Love, Kenzie goodies! Mackenzie wanted to make the line very personal and offer her friends and fans a chance to learn a bit about her. Some of the products, she explained, are named after her friends, and others are named after her love for dancing. The name Love, Kenzie is also a nod to Mackenzie’s lifestyle—she revealed that she always signs off texts to her friends with “Love, Kenzie.”
Mackenzie wanted her collection to include natural-looking but fun colors. The products have a rose-gold metallic color scheme to their packaging, but the makeup is mostly light yet neutral shades such as browns, tans, and light pinks. Despite all that her line has to offer, Mackenzie’s own makeup routine tends to stay pretty natural—she often pairs a glossy lip with a similar eyelid, just to add a bit of spice to her daily appearance.
