Talinda Bennington, who is the widow of the late Chester Bennington, has announced she’s engaged two years after the Linkin Park singer’s death.
Chester took his own life in 2017 after a decades-long battle with mental health. He and Talinda, a former Playboy model, married in 2006. They had three children: son Tyler (born in 2006) and twins Lilly and Lila (born in 2011). Talinda has been largely removed from the spotlight since her husband’s death and many fans weren’t even aware she was dating someone new.
"Dear #Family, I am overjoyed to announce my engagement to my angel on earth, Michael F.,” she wrote on Instagram on September 6th, declining to share her fiancée’s last name. “I am here to tell you that you can find love after tragedy.” Talinda went on to write, “A death of a soulmate does not mean the death of you. My family, friends, and my Linkin Park brothers welcome him to the family with open arms. I will continue to honor Chester and continue my life’s mission to make his passing not in vein.”
Talinda hasn’t shared about her relationship publicly before this. In fact, there appear to be no photos of her fiancée to be found on her social media pages. The former Rockstar wife devotes her socials largely to promoting mental health awareness. She still frequently posts about her late husband, including a sweet photo of him and one of their girls on Father’s Day.
The mom-of-three was very open about how grief stricken she was in the days following Chester’s suicide. But she’s also been adamant about the need to carry on. “One week ago, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero — their daddy. We had a fairy-tale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy,” she told Us Weekly at the time.
She continued, “How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left. I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well.”
Talinda also said she was mainly concerned with how the loss of Chester would impact their young children. She said, “My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive. He was a bright, loving soul with an angel’s voice. And now he is pain-free singing his songs in all of our hearts.”
There is currently no word on when Talinda and Michael will tie the knot. All the best to the happy couple!
