Charlotte Tilbury, the founder of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Ltd, and British Vogue’s Contributing Beauty Editor, has launched her latest lipstick collection, which she says was inspired by eternal supermodels like Cindy Crawford. The four new lip shades are all nude tones and pay tribute to the minimalist style of the nineties.

"Darlings, @cindycrawford is the ultimate SUPER! She has always known how to MAXIMISE her incredible beauty with the POWER of a NUDE LIP! She is my beauty inspiration!!! #SuperCindy," the British makeup artist wrote on Instagram.

Tilbury based her new Supermodel Lipstick Collection on icons such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford. Super Nineties is a limited-edition, deep tawny-brown nude lipstick with a modern matte finish, while Super Model is a limited-edition, nude-rose lipstick with a modern matte finish. The shades are intended to accentuate a woman’s natural lip color.

“I have so many amazing memories of being towered over by these Goddess supermodels, looking fabulous and incredible,” Tilbury said. “They understood the power of neutral colors that would enhance their natural beauty and play-up their features - they became super gorgeous versions of themselves.”

The makeup artist is no stranger to the world of modeling. She has worked Fashion Week in New York, Milan, Paris and London, where she has completed up to forty shows a season, acting as makeup director for brands such as Prada, Miu Miu, McQueen, Cavalli, Lanvin and Chloe. In the past, Tilbury has worked with designers such as Tom Ford and Burberry on beauty campaigns as well as working as creative director for Tom Ford and Helena Rubinstein.

Tilbury is known for naming one of her first lip products, The Queen, after Queen Elizabeth. The shade is a "rich and rosy crown-jewel pink lipstick in homage to Her Majesty." She also created a matte red wine shade called Legendary Queen.

In 2018, Tilbury was presented with a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) by the Queen herself. Afterwards, she wrote on Instagram, “Today has been one of the most magical days of my life. I am so delighted and thrilled to receive this honour, especially from Her Majesty, the Queen who has been an endless source of inspiration to me! She is not only an icon of this country, but of the world. To be recognised for my contribution to the beauty industry is a dream come true!”
