Not all relationships work out. This is true for celebs and us everyday folk too. We can’t expect things to be peachy all the time. People lie. They cheat. They fall out of love. Fights happen. It’s all real life stuff, and it can really suck.
As we’re all aware, Hollywood is chock full of divorce cases and dirty breakups. This might have something to do with the fact that everything in these relationships is made public. The biggest celeb couples are plastered to magazine covers and heavily scrutinized. Any little thing that happens between them seems to be publicized, which leads to added stress in their lives.
Unfortunately, some of the relationships that have ended were just too good. Many of these hot and famous couples had us cheering for them. Of course, not all of them were able to make things work. Again, this is totally just a normal part of life. The relationships that we loved the most were the ones where their love just seemed to show in everything they did together. As cheesy as that may sound, it’s true!
We’re still hoping that these famous couples will be able to get back together someday soon!
15 Gavin Rossdale And Gwen Stefani—A Shocking Split
One of Hollywood’s favorite power couples was Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani. These two dated for a little while before getting hitched. They then got married and had three kids together. Their entire relationship lasted for 13 years, which seems like a record as Hollywood couples go.
The two announced that they were splitting up in August 2015. This came as a huge shock to the entire world. We really thought these two would be together forever. Their relationship ended with an affair on Rossdale’s part and a little bit of drama.

We’d like to see Rossdale and Stefani get back together if they can work things out. They seemed great for each other, and they proved to be pretty strong. Not everyone can be the same person for 13 years, especially in the spotlight.
14 Kourtney Kardashian And Scott Disick—So Bad It's Good
Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian were a pretty solid couple back when they were together and striving. They first started dating shortly after they met in 2006. It wasn’t always smooth sailing for this duo though, no matter what their fans try to tell you.

Disick and Kardashian were off and on throughout their lengthy relationship. There were several big fights and plenty of drama thrown in. They had three kids while they were together too, which complicated things. They were never married, but they did date off and on for nine years. They officially called things off in 2015.
The reason that so many people loved them together is that they were so good for each other when things were good between them. Plus, the two still vacation as a family with their kiddos, which is sweet!
13 Britney Spears And Justin Timberlake—Take Back Those Nights
This couple is by no means a current one. The two dated backed in the ’90s, so it’s not likely that they’ll get back together. The chances are extremely slim. Who knows though? Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were a symbol of the late ’90s and early ’00s.
Spears and Timberlake have since moved on and had their own relationships. They each have their own kids as well. It seems like Timberlake is in a pretty committed relationship with Jessica Biel. The two got married in 2012 and now have a child together.
We loved this pop star couple combination back in the day, and we’d still totally support it to this day. We shouldn’t get our hopes up. If they do get back together, we’re petitioning for a denim outfit reincarnation.
12 Jenny Slate And Chris Evans Keep Us In Longing
This couple is one of the less well-known ones. Of course, most of us are fairly familiar with Chris Evans. Some of us might remember his girlfriend, Jenny Slate. They originally met on the set of Gifted. How Hollywood is that? They met on a movie set!
After meeting, they kept quiet about their relationship. Unfortunately, they broke up shortly after they first got together. It all ended in March 2017. We loved this couple because they just seemed to work so well together. Plus, we can’t seem to get over how they met.
Anyway, the two seem to have a decent relationship—a non-romantic one—and stay in contact on Twitter. There have been some rumors that their relationship is back in business, but it hasn’t been proven at this point.
11 Katy Perry And John Mayer—Who You Love
Very few people will argue that this musically talented couple shouldn’t be together. We can’t even begin to imagine the tunes that they could have cranked out together had they made their relationship work for a little bit longer. They did release one song together, “Who You Love.” We know who we love—it’s Katy Perry and John Mayer!
Perry and Mayer were a couple from 2012 to 2015, but it was slightly inconsistent. They dated off and on. Their breakup probably hurt us fans more than it hurt them.
Recently, we’ve become more and more hopeful that they will find their way back to each other. In one interview, Perry gave Mayer the title of being her best lover. It’s also been said that a few of Mayer’s songs following the breakup are about Perry.
10 Drew Barrymore And Will Kopelman—In Waiting
We can’t be the only ones who absolutely adored the relationship that Drew Barrymore had with Will Kopelman. Sure, she had other relationships leading up to this one. Those never seemed to work out in the same way that this one did. We also just loved the way they treated each other!
Kopelman and Barrymore seemed to have it all together. This sweet couple had two little girls—Olive and Frankie—together. It seemed like they had settled down and that this would be a long-term relationship.
They were married for four years before things unfortunately came to an end. It’s said that Barrymore was the one to file for divorce. It’s pretty sad that they weren’t able to keep this good thing going. Fans are waiting for the couple to be spotted again!
9 Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez—Just Stay Together
Even if we aren’t all huge fans of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, we are ready to see them settle down. Now, we aren’t sure at this exact second if they are together or not. We’re just going to say that they aren’t, simply for the sake of this list.

Bieber and Gomez have been off and on since January 2017. When they are together, they seem like they’re perfect for each other. Whether or not that’s true, we aren’t sure. Of course, there’s plenty of drama that could be going on behind the scenes.
Regardless, we are thinking that they might be able to figure things out soon and commit to a long-term relationship. They’re just really cute together. Who wouldn’t want to see Jelena work out in the long run?
8 Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama—Rumor Has It
It seems like Demi Lovato does a pretty good job of keeping her relationships out of the limelight. This is probably for the best, just to cut back on the potential drama that could ensue. It’s most likely because she was with Wilmer Valderrama for an impressive six years. There were no new guys to announce.
One of the best things about their relationship is that Lovato credited him for helping her out when she was working on getting sober. We love it when couples are there for each other like this.
It seems like they ended on good terms in June 2016. This is one of the reasons that we’re wondering if they’ll get back together. In their Instagram breakup announcement, they shared that they were “better as best friends.”
7 Jennifer Aniston And Brad Pitt—All Good Until Angelina
Almost everybody knows what went down between Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. They were married when Angelina Jolie walked into the picture. The rest is history. Jolie is the big reason why Aniston and Pitt are no longer a thing. We aren’t bitter at all—okay, maybe a little!
The chances of this couple getting back together now are impossibly low. As we know, Pitt and Jolie just ended their long relationship. This means that Pitt might be available. Aniston is happily married to Justin Theroux.
Even if Pitt and Aniston were both single, we don’t see them becoming a couple again. They’d have to reconnect somehow, and maybe Jolie would get involved this time too. Aniston and Pitt’s time has unfortunately come and gone. We’re totally bummed about it too!
6 Courtney Cox And David Arquette—Still Holding Out
Courtney Cox and David Arquette were a long-time favorite of ours. The pair starred in Scream together. This is where we first started thinking that maybe—just maybe—they could make their relationship last for a while. This isn’t always possible though, no matter how hard we hope for it.
When the duo announced their breakup in 2010, it was a huge surprise. They had been a couple for what seemed like forever. Of course, all good things must come to an end. They officially divorced in 2012.
Since then, they’ve moved on to their own relationships. They seem to be doing fine without each other, which breaks our hearts all over again. Is it likely they can work things out and renew their relationship? Not really, but we won’t give up.
5 Blake Shelton And Miranda Lambert—Country Lovin’
Those who aren’t into country music or don’t recognize these names can pretty much skip over this couple. We’re just kidding—they’re still important! Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert seemed like a match made in country heaven. We just didn’t expect it to end.

Lambert and Shelton dated for six years before getting hitched. Then, they were married to each other for four years. This 10-year long relationship ended insanely fast. We barely had time to process it, and we still aren’t totally sure what just happened.
We aren’t thinking that this country duo will get back together. Shelton has clearly moved on to Gwen Stefani. Maybe Shelton and Lambert will be able to reboot their marriage with a country hit together. It would be perfect! That could happen, right?
4 Khloe Kardashian And Lamar Odom—We Love Our Lammy
One of the things about the Kardashians and their relationships is that every little thing seems to be out in the open. This is probably why we take their breakups so hard. Throughout their relationships, we just feel like we’re a part of the action.
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom were a couple from 2009 until 2016. They dated for a quick three weeks before tying the knot. Now, usually we would think that this would result in a divorce soon after. They ended up staying married for seven years.
Their breakup was rough, and we’re pretty sure they have both moved on. Regardless, we’re hopeful that they might rekindle their romance at some point down their road. We know it may be impossible, given the fact that Khloe is now pregnant with Tristan Thompson’s baby.
3 Ryan Gosling And Rachel McAdams—On The Big Screen Or Off
After watching Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams play Noah and Allie in The Notebook, we’re forever in love with them as a couple. They actually did date for a couple of years after the movie came out. They ended up calling it quits in 2007 though, which makes us feel lame for adding them to this list anyway.
Even though they haven’t dated in over a decade, we can still hope that they’re going to get back in touch somehow. We will gladly find a way to set them up on a date. Of course, in the past 10 years they have managed to find new people to date. It’s pretty clear that they won’t be a couple anytime soon.
We’ll just keep re-watching The Notebook over and over again to catch glimpses of their relationship.
2 Angelina Jolie And Billy Bob Thornton—The Best Bad Pair
Before there was Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, there was Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie. People who are unfamiliar with Jolie’s history may not know much about Thornton. Basically, he was Jolie’s husband from 2000 to 2003.
The relationship was short-lived, but apparently these two stay in contact. What’s even better is that Jolie and Pitt have recently gotten a divorce, so Jolie might have a chance of getting back together with Thornton.
Thornton and Jolie seemed to have a good relationship when they were a couple. It’s sad that it only lasted a few years. They also adopted Maddox Chivan in 2012, so we are thinking that Thornton might adjust to the rest of the kids. Six kids is a lot though, so maybe not. Nonetheless, we’re hopeful that they can find their way back together.
1 Zac Efron And Vanessa Hudgens—Or Troy And Gabriella
Most of us will support Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens getting back together just because of their High School Musical romance. For most of us Disney Channel fans, Troy and Gabriella were the best couple. It’s true!
Naturally, the two actors dated off the screen as well. This was a dream come true for Troy and Gabriella’s biggest admirers. Unfortunately, their relationship just didn’t work out. It had something to do with the distance between them.
No matter how old we are, we’ll likely keep trying to think of ways for Hudgens and Efron to keep things going. They have moved on to new people by now and probably don’t really talk or anything. It’s unfortunate, but it looks like we’ll just have to watch High School Musical to get our fix.
