Cardi B recently made her first acting debut in Hustlers but, according to the rapper, this won’t be the last time you see her on the big screen.

During a recent appearance on The Ellen Show, Cardi opened up to Ellen DeGeneres about her first time working on a film set. Though the celebrity said she “enjoyed” the experience, she wasn’t expecting the long production hours. “I couldn’t believe that I was like on set for 16 hours,” Cardi explained.

Cardi compared acting to the music industry, saying being a rapper is more fast-paced whereas acting requires more patience. “Artists, we have long days but it’s just full of excitement like we move around we’re doing something,” she told Ellen. “Like, you gotta wait in the trailer until it’s your turn, you gotta do the same scene like 20 times.”

This led Ellen to question if Cardi had any plans to go behind the camera again. “You’re not going to do that again, are you?” Ellen asked.  But Cardi didn’t have to wait long to think about her answer. “Oh yes, I am,” she replied, revealing she already started working on another flick this month. Cardi added she’d love to continue to pursue acting, saying, “I enjoy the checks.”

Hustlers is one of the most anticipated movies of the fall. It stars other big names including Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart, and Lizzo. Cardi plays Diamond, one of the fellow strippers entangled in a complicated money-making scheme.

It’s not only the silver screen Cardi has set her sights on. The ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper will also be making her TV debut soon. The celebrity has partnered up with Netflix and fellow musical icons T.I. and Chance the Rapper to act as judges for a new hip-hop competition called Rhythm + Flow. The reality competition will go to major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta to discover new talent.

Various big names have already signed on to make guest appearances on the new Netflix original, which will air on October 9th and will include 10 episodes. Guests include Snoop Dog, Quavo, Nipsey Hussle, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla Sign, and DJ Khaled.

Later during her Ellen DeGeneres interview, the host played ‘Never Have I Ever’ with Cardi as well as T.I. and Chance the Rapper. The guests had to reveal whether they’d hooked up with a fan, sent explicit texts to the wrong number, or if they have a tattoo they regret. Given their great energy on Ellen, we can’t wait to see these three act as judges on Netflix’s newest show.
