The beef between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj is going strong. In the latest episode, Cardi has accused Nicki’s fans of being behind her new song, Money, leaking online two days before its scheduled release. It is unclear, however, how Nicki’s fan would have access to the song.

On Instagram Live, Cardi claimed that Nicki’s fans were harassing her online, saying, "They always posting me, they always post everything I do. You know what I'm saying? They claim they hate me, but they really love me, because they be on my page before my fans."

She also added, "Everything that I do, they be on it before my fans. So clearly, that seems like love to me, seems like you love me, so it's like, 'F-ck it.' I can't retract it, I might as well put it out. They seem like my biggest f-cking fans, always on my f-cking page. Always doing the most, always on my nuts."

Money is about the hardship of being a mother with lines like “I got a baby, I need some money, yeah/I need cheese for my egg.” Though with an estimated net worth of $8 million, Cardi doesn’t need to be too worried about her cheese. Cardi's first album, Invasion of Privacy, was released on April 6, 2018. Money though is a non-album single. Privacy was the largest female debut of 2018 until the release of Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty in September.

The Cardi/Nicki battle has been developing for a while now and came to a head at New York Fashion Week earlier this year when the two rappers got into a fight at the Harper's Bazaar Icons event. At the party, Nicki was taking a photo with Kelly Rowland and La La Anthony when Cardi walked by. It was reported that Nicki deliberately stepped on Cardi's train, which led to a brawl in which Cardi had part if her wig ripped off. Cardi apparently responded by throwing her shoe at Nicki.

The feud seems to date back to when Nicki liked a tweet that questioned Cardi's parenting skills. Cardi responded by saying, "I love my daughter. I'm a good-ass f--king mom. So, for somebody that don't have a child to like that comment? So many people want to say that party wasn't the time or the place, but I'm not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block."

Some think Nicki has been keeping the feud going by dissing Cardi on her song Transformer, where she raps, "Some call me Nicki, but some call me Megatron. I'm stopping bags and I don't need a red octagon." Stopping bags refers to calling out someone that's trying to prevent your success.

It hasn’t been always been bad between the two. At the 2018 Met Gala, the rappers were seen chatting enthusiastically. The two were said to have been introduced by designer Jeremy Scott, who is a good friend of Nicki's and also designed Cardi's gown for the evening. Alas, the good vibes were short-lived, and soon the two were trading barbs online. Nicki Minaj's latest album Queen was released on August 10, 2018. The title has been interpreted as letting Cardi know who she needs to bow down to.
