K-Pop superstars BTS, aka the Bangtan Boys, a seven-member South Korean boy band, have collaborated with PUMA to create a sneaker. Known as the PUMA x BTS Basket Patent Sneakers, these trainers are surprisingly simple and wearable.

The new sneakers are white and black with very discreet blue and gold accents, just enough to certify their pop-star provenance. According to PUMA, “Pop megastars probably have the market cornered when it comes to looking good while in motion; how else could so many dance moves become so iconic? So it's no surprise that K-Pop headliners BTS would create a sneaker that's teeming with style and helps you get down.”

The exclusive trainers feature PUMA's classic basket design. “The EVA midsole provides cushioning and support, while the rubber outsole takes care of grip and traction – there's a reason the PUMA Basket is a long-time hit among the B-baller crowd. BTS branding is featured on the tongue, footbed, and bottom of the shoe,” the brand says.

BTS were announced as global brand ambassadors for Puma in February. The sneaker giant launched the remix of their 'Turin' line on March 2 in Korea and worldwide in July. The group will be featured in global campaigns for Puma's Sportstyle line. The pop stars also represent KB Kookmin Bank, one of the four largest banks in South Korea, and LG Electronics, which said that BTS would "promote its smartphones in the global market." They are also campaign models for Coca-Cola Korea.

PUMA has said they are very excited about their collaboration with BTS. "We are very happy to grow with BTS and hope to roll-out meaningful campaigns with them in the future just like we have been doing for the last four years.” Adam Petrick, Global Director for Brand Marketing at PUMA said.

PUMA, the third largest sportswear manufacturer in the world, also works with other pop stars, such as Rihanna, The Weeknd, and Selena Gomez. Rihanna became PUMA’s global ambassador for Women’s Training as well as the PUMA Women’s Creative Director in 2015. As Women’s Creative Director, she has a direct influence on product collections, designs and classic PUMA styles. The German brand launched its venture with Gomez called Phenom Lux in March.
