Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that this week was Queen Bey’s birthday. In honor of her special day, Beyoncé, who turned 37, treated the Beyhive to a visual selection of her life and looks on her website, as well as a moving letter that read:

At 36, I became a mother of three. I breastfed twins. I renewed vows with my husband of ten years. I came back home to the stage to do Coachella, after pregnancy. Then my husband and I released our album together, Everything is Love. And we’ve been touring with our whole family around the world, and loving it. This year has been monumental for me. I thank God for everyone in my life. Thank you for all the positivity and for the beautiful birthday wishes. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from my past, living in the present and surrendering to the future. I love you, Hive. B.”

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was born September 4th, 1981, in Houston, Texas, to Celestine "Tina" Knowles, a hairdresser and salon owner, and Mathew Knowles, a Xerox sales manager. As a child, she performed in singing and dancing competitions, eventually rising to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the R&B girl-group Destiny's Child, one of the history's best-selling girl groups. In 2003, Bey released her debut album, Dangerously in Love, which established her as a global superstar. To date, she has sold over 100 million records worldwide and has won 22 Grammy Awards, becoming the most nominated woman in the award's history. She is also the most awarded artist at the MTV Video Music Awards, with 24 wins, including the Video Vanguard Award.

Beyoncé, who according to her Instagram, celebrated her big day aboard an Italian yacht one can only assume doing what she loves best, which is sailing away from it all, as she told Oprah a few years ago. The Carters were off the coast of Sardinia, Italy. Yesterday, the couple arrived for lunch at Hotel Cala di Volpe in Porto Cervo, Sardinia. Beyoncé wore a Caroline Constas crop top and maxi skirt set with a brimmed hat, sunglasses, green slide sandals, and a basket bag. The voluminous outfit, however, couldn’t hide the superstar’s instantly recognizable face.

The couple took turns taking pics of each other, proving their love is strong. Bey has been honored all over Instagram. Her mom, Tina Lawson, posted a photo of 4-month-old Beyoncé on her Instagram, writing, "I made a vow to love and cherish you every day. . . for the rest of my life! Sometimes I can't believe out of all the incredible people in the world I was chosen by God to be your mom." And we thank you, Tina, for bringing the Queen into the world.

The Carter's album, Everything Is Love, has received rave reviews from critics and debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200. The couple is currently on the On the Run II Tour, their second co-headlining stadium tour. The tour was officially announced on March 12th, 2018, and began on June 6th, 2018, in Cardiff, UK. It is expected to end on October 4th, 2018, in Seattle.

Everything Is Love is considered the final album by The Carters in a trilogy documenting married life. The album follows Beyoncé’s Lemonade, which addressed her husband’s infidelity, and Jay-Z’s 4:44, in which he expressed regret for his actions and vowed to do better. Everything Is Love is the pair’s first full-length collaboration.
