The Big Little Lies cast is back to work on season 2 and they are proudly sharing some behind-the-scenes photos on social media.
Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley all shared glorious photos of themselves back in character. Their Instagram pages were filled with behind-the-scenes photos of themselves filming the new season of the hit HBO show. Much to the fans delight, the ladies are back in Monterey.
Dern and Witherspoon shared the same image of their characters, Madeline and Renata, hanging outside the Seaside Coffee Shop. While they each captioned their photos differently, it is clear both of them are thrilled to be working together again.
“Watch out Monterey, here we come!” shared Witherspoon. While Dern captioned the picture, “Madeline and Renata are back."
Neither Kravitz nor Woodley shared pictures with other Big Little Lies cast members. Instead, they each revealed how they are getting back into character.
“Bonnie’s. Back.” shared Kravitz showcasing her new braided hairstyle. In fact, she was the first cast member to share a behind-the-scenes look on social media.
“JANES BACK," revealed Woodley as she posed with her newly darkened hair.
Witherspoon revealed on Late Night With Seth Meyers last week that filming for the new season was set to begin on Friday, March 16th. However, despite being in production, viewers will have to wait until 2019 before they can see the ladies of Monterey back on the small screen. HBO has already confirmed there is no room for the hit show in their current 2018 schedule.
There are very few details known about season 2 of Big Little Lies, because there was never supposed to be a second season. The show was picked up as a limited series based on the book written by Liane Moriarty. After a hugely successful first season and a serious outcry of love from fans, the stars aligned and a season two is happening.
The ladies of Big Little Lies are back in action. Thanks to social media, fans are getting their first behind-the-scenes peek at the new season. Don’t expect any of the cast to give away juicy details though, each one has been very careful about what is shared on social media.
