A big bust is couture’s worst nightmare. The fashion industry might have taken giant leaps to meet the sartorial needs of the plus-sized, the petite, the elderly, the gender-neutral, the disabled and its special needs customers, but let’s be real. Apart from a few courageous lingerie brands, everybody else shuns larger chests with passion.

Budget online retailer ASOS has decided to do something about this problem and launched a collection of clothes for women with cup sizes DD-G. All we can say is THANK YOU!

The collection is called "ASOS Design Fuller Bust" and it features not only lingerie and swimwear but dresses, classic fitted sleeve shirts and V-neck camis that celebrate busty shapes. The shirts fit perfectly without causing a peek-a-boob incident, while extra material on the dresses such as thicker straps balance the silhouette out, and smartly cover our bras. The collections’ ultra-supportive bras and swimwear are selling out like hotcakes.

Before you start mumbling something about ASOS already featuring a plus-size range, let’s get something straight, this is not another plus-size range! It is meant to be for women of all sizes (UK 4 to UK18) who happen to have big busts. It is a very real demographic that has struggled too long, unable to squeeze into actual dress sizes.

What’s more, we could go into extreme details about how the fashion industry (and the media industry in general) has shamed, isolated and ignored many chesty girls. It’s high time a brand like ASOS empowered them and showed the world that a large cup size is no obstacle to looking chic and professional, and definitely no indication of promiscuity.

So kudos to ASOS once again. And let’s just say once again that the brand is known for celebrating inclusivity and body positivity. Not only does it feature a perennial Plus-Size range and a Petite range, but have also designed clothes specifically for wheelchair users and the LGBTQ community. It has used “real women” of different sizes as models to show how the same dress looks on different people.

A fashion brand that is a real beacon for social change, don’t you just love ASOS?
