Actress Kat McNamara, who plays Clary Fray on Shadowhunters and Mia Smoak on Arrow, got her start on Broadway in the 2009 revival of A Little Night Music with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury. Along the way, McNamara, 23, has learned a few beauty secrets, including the following nighttime beauty routine.

The Kansas City native has also received valuable advice from her grandmother, who recommended Pond's Cleansing Towelettes. "I love these wipes because they are really gentle and simple, but they do the job," she says. "[My grandmother]and I have a very similar skin, so a lot of things she can use, generally work well with me. It always reminds me of her; she's always been a proponent of good skincare in my life.”

After removing her makeup, McNamara follows up with the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads, which contain natural ingredients like toning witch hazel to soothing blue daisy. McNamara often chooses natural products since she has sensitive skin and food allergies. "I have to see what particular oils, nuts, and seeds are used in the product. This one I love because it's so simple; you get exactly what is on the label," she says. To remove her mascara, McNamara uses a cotton pad and Chanel's Gentle Bi-Phase Eye Makeup Remover, an oil-based formula that breaks down waterproof mascara.

On the set of Shadowhunters, McNamara has learned some great beauty secrets from the hair and makeup team. To avoid irritation when cleansing her sensitive skin, she prefers her favorite face wash, Chanel Anti-Pollution Cleansing Milk, which moisturizes and cleanses at the same time. She also uses this face wash while traveling to remove excess pollution.

After she’s done cleansing, she pats her face dry with a clean cotton towel. She then applies Clinique's Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. "It's so hydrating for your skin, but it doesn't leave behind an oily residue that other moisturizers can leave behind," she says. Also, once a week she uses Patchology's FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels to reduce puffiness or dark circles. After leaving the product on for ten or 15 minutes, she feels completely refreshed.

When showering, McNamara likes a shampoo and conditioner from Oribe for color-treated hair since she often has to dye her hair for roles. "This product keeps the hair healthy, as well as keeps the color," she says. She also likes the Shu Uemura's Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Oil-in-Cream, a Camellia-based product that can be used on wet or dry hair. "It's extremely nourishing. It's a product that will pretty much do whatever you want and it makes your hair look fantastic.” She uses it to moisturize her ends whenever her hair looks dry, as well as to tame any flyaways.

Before bed, McNamara always brushes her teeth using Crest 3D White Brilliance toothpaste to eliminate coffee stains and provide whitening without damaging her enamel. In addition, she uses Crest 3D White Strips twice a month. After a quick Listerine rinse, she’s off to sleep.
