When it comes to the definition of “girl boss”, we’re pretty sure there’s a shiny photo of Ariana Grande glowing in the dictionary. Fresh off the heels of her new music video release for Thank U, Next, the singer just recently was awarded the Woman of the Year award at Billboard's "Women in Music" event. According to Cosmopolitan, Ariana decided to celebrate and to get an adorable tattoo with her grandmother, Marjorie Grande.

Affectionately known as Nonna, Ariana Grande's 93-year-old grandmother agreed, and the pair opted for different designs. Documenting the entire experience, Ariana posted multiple images and stories on her Instagram for fans to follow.

Ariana went for a chic yet minimalist tattoo design of a sun and moon, while Nonna decided to keep things subtle with a moving tribute. New York-based tattoo artist Mira Mariah revealed a closer look at Ariana Grande's latest tattoo, writing the sweet caption, "☀️🌙 for the woman of the year." on her Instagram. The pair has shared a close bond, and Mariah has posted additional images posing with the singer.

Ariana's grandmother decided to choose a sentimental phrase, Ciccio, which refers to her late husband's nickname. Nonna opted for the tattoo’s placement directly on her ring finger. Ariana Grande is known for having a fervent fan base, and so many fans decided to share their excitement in response to Grande’s new set of ink. With a flurry of tweets and Instagram posts, fans thought the announcement of the Grandes' tattoos was just oh-so-adorable (and we have to agree).

In her celebratory speech at the Billboard event, Grande has been lauded for keeping this real. "I find it interesting that this has been one of the best years of my career and the worst of my life," Grande revealed. "I'm not saying that for sympathy...It's been a very conflicting one, and I just want to say that if you're someone out there who has no idea what this next chapter is going to bring, you’re not alone in that."
