On Monday night’s episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden, pop singer Ariana Grande and show host James Corden reenacted James Cameron’s classic 1997 tragic romance film, Titanic, with a bit of a twist.

The two dressed in early 20th-century costumes and created their own fast-paced Titanic musical medley using popular songs by One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Styx, and more. The medley included 13 songs and nine sets. Impressively, it was shot in under six minutes and done in only one take.

Dressed as Rose DeWitt Bukater, Grande appeared first on stage, standing atop a boarding platform that led to a painted Titanic ship. She began the mini-musical with the opening lines of “Come Sail Away” by Styx before running off-camera into the next set. Corden then appeared as Jack Dawson, singing the song’s chorus.

The dynamic duo sang 12 songs following the opening, each only singing a few lines before jumping into the next scene accompanied by a new tune. The songs were hilariously appropriate for a modern-day reenactment—Hall & Oates’ “Rich Girl,” Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance,” and One Direction’s “Steal My Girl,” to name a few.

When Grande and Corden emerged from inside the ship to stand on the prow and “fly,” they sang a snippet of “Learn to Fly” by the Foo Fighters, and Grande found it hard to keep a straight face. She giggled as Corden held her outstretched arms but flawlessly regained her composure to sing her part. During the scene where Jack drew Rose like one of his French girls, the two sang “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran (a totally relevant choice). When the ship sank, they sang Kesha’s “Timber” (maybe a little too relevant…).

Before letting go of Grande’s hand and disappearing into a sea of fabric, Corden sang a rendition of NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye,” complete with the line, “There’s no room for me upon that door, baby, bye, bye, bye.” There definitely was room for him.

Of course, the musical concluded with Grande singing a beautiful cover of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.” Corden joined her on stage to finish the duet in a tear-jerking moment.

Grande is already no stranger to Dion hits, so naturally, she nailed the finale. In 2015, she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and did a spot-on impersonation of Dion during a cover of “Beauty and the Beast.” Also, in 2016, she hosted Saturday Night Live and perfectly impersonated several iconic female singers, including Dion.

The Titanic musical reenactment was just as much of an emotional roller coaster as the blockbuster film, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
