The bitter custody battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt continues. TMZ have reported that Angelina will not allow Brad to see their six children; 15-year-old Maddox, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, unless she can be guaranteed his visit will be 'monitored.'
After announcing their divorce late last month, reports surfaced that Brad and his eldest son Maddox had been involved in an altercation aboard a private jet at Minnesota’s Falls International Airport as he was sticking up for his younger brother, Pax. In Touch Weekly reported, "(Brad) told Pax to sit down and Pax told his dad to ‘shut the f**k’ up', causing Brad to get out of his seat and get in Pax’s face and tell him to ‘f**king sit down now.' (Maddox) then got in the middle of it and (Angelina) started screaming hysterically." The very next day - the Jolie-Pitts announced their divorce after twelve years together.
Angelina had previously applied for sole custody of all six children as TMZ also claimed Brad need to "straighten himself out.' Many gossip websites also reported he had serious issues with alcohol and would drink heavily around the children.
According to US law there are a number of reasons why a parent may apply for monitored visitation. Reasons can include either allowing the visiting parent a chance to address specific issues, when there is a history or allegations of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, or substance abuse; when there are parenting concerns or mental illness; or when there is a parental threat of abduction. If Angelina is successful in her application, then Brad will only have rights to see the children when a court-appointed third-party official is present.
Brad also won't be pleased to find out Angelina has hired top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, whose boasts a previous client list including Kim Kardashian and Johnny Depp. Wasser has a reputation as one of the most feared divorce specialists in Hollywood.
