Former child star Amanda Bynes is back to social media following a years-long hiatus. But fans aren’t sure what to make of her interesting news feed.

No one can forget the very public meltdown the actress had, which played out mostly on social media. In 2013 and 2014, Amanda made a variety of accusations, including saying her father had been inappropriate with her during childhood. Also outrageously, the star made headlines for sending raunchy messages to Drake via Twitter, saying things like she wanted him to ‘murder’ her, ahem, downstairs area.

Amanda virtually went silent on social media after her parents (and the legal system) stepped in and got her help. The star left the public eye, but she resumed her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She quietly graduated from her program earlier this year.

So, now that Amanda seems to be doing the best she has in years, it appears the celebrity is trying her hand at social media once again.

She has made a new Instagram page after deleting her old one years ago. So far, the star has posted quite a few photos in the mere two days the account has been alive. Many of the photos are selfies of Amanda, but she had also posted a meme about depression, a photo of shoes, and a pic of a spider web.

However, not everyone thinks the actress looks great in her new photos. Amanda is sporting vividly died hair and a dramatic septum piercing, both reminiscent of the cringey wigs and cheek piercings she sported during her most troubled days. As of now, Amanda has turned off comments on many of her Instagram posts, though folks are still voicing their opinions online.

At the time of publication, Amanda’s new account boasts 127,000 followers yet she’s only following 18 other accounts. The people she’s following include fellow celebrities Paris and Nicky Hilton, designer brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci, and rappers Lil Peep and XXXTentacion.

Amanda has previously expressed to the media a desire to return to showbiz now that her struggles with mental health are under control. But this past April, a source told OK! Magazine those plans are on hold as she continues to receive treatment. The month prior to the interview, Amanda had entered another treatment facility.

“She wanted to address it right away before going back into show business and exploring show business again,” an insider told the publication. “And it was her decision and her choice to address the situation, seek treatment which I think is an incredibly mature way of handling this type of thing.” At the time, the source said Amanda was focused on her studies (which she has since finished) and her self-care.

It’s great to see that Amanda has returned to social media. Hopefully, things are smoother for her this time around.
