8 CW Duos Who Are No Longer On Speaking Terms (And 8 Who Remain BFFs)

When actors and actresses get together on set, many of them make memories that will last a lifetime. Whether those are good or bad memories, we're still not too sure. There are many cast members that grow to be best friends and never grow apart despite a series going off the air. A perfect example of that is Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton from One Tree Hill, which you'll read more about below.

Some other co-stars, however, start to have serious issues and problems with each other while on set. Some of these problems start on set, while others stem from outside problems that are brought into work. Doesn't anyone ever tell them they have to separate work and play? We're guessing some people just can't control themselves. It's no secret that Leighton Meester and Blake Lively from Gossip Girl fame were never best friends like their Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen counterparts. You can read more about that below, too.

In addition to the two good and bad examples above, we have fourteen more where that came from. You'll read about many CW shows and co-stars that are still friends to this day or now cannot stand each other. Read on to find out more!

16 BFFs: Sophia Bush & Hilarie Burton Will Always Be One Tree Hill's Perfect Duo

E!

The CW show One Tree Hill was a teen drama phenomenon that pitted two half-brothers against each other on the basketball court and in the hearts of Tree Hill's popular girls. You'd think they would be the perfect duo to make up and play nice by series' end, but that wasn't the case at all: enter Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton, aka Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, the REAL perfect duo of Tree Hill.

These two were inseparable on the show and had plenty of drama that eventually just brought them closer (Peyton's daughter was even named after Brooke in season six).

The two actresses in real life were incredibly close on set and still to this day remain soul sisters, standing up for each other within the media and praising each other on birthdays, too.

15 Not Speaking: Leighton Meester & Blake Lively Were Not NYC's BFF Queens

Blake Lively got her start on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants as Bridget, the cool and popular soccer player. Right from there, she auditioned and got the very different role of Upper East Sider Serena van der Woodsen on the CW show Gossip Girl. Leighton Meester had a completely different start. She had a handful of roles as she grew up; however, her big break was also her role on Gossip Girl, as Blair Waldorf. These roles actually exploded their careers, but it is rumored that the two simply did not get along on set for those five years. It was reported that the two had a decent relationship during filming of the last two season, but that they do not speak anymore as of in 2013, one year after the show ended.

14 BFFs: Camilla Mendes & Lili Reinhart, Riverdale Cuties

Teen Vogue

Riverdale is a teen drama show on The CW channel that began in 2016 and is currently on its' second season. Two of its' stars-- Camilla Mendes, 23, and Lili Reinhart-- are on our list for being super tight best friends ever since they met on set. Camilla plays Veronica Lodge while Lili, 21, plays innocent Betty Cooper. Neither of the stars has had any serious roles before this, so you could say these were their breakout roles!

The two took a little while to get close once filming started for Riverdale; however, they say opposites attract and that is exactly what happened with these two besties.

They even go a la Sophia and Hilarie and do emotional birthday shout outs on social media for each other!

13 Not Speaking: Ed Westwick & Jessica Szohr Were Not A Match Made In Upper East Side Heaven

Ed Westwick 31, is an actor that got his start in small roles in movies like Children of Men, Chalet Girl, and J. Edgar alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. His biggest role to date, however, is playing Gossip Girl bad boy Chuck Bass from 2007-2012. On the other hand, Jessica Szohr, 33, played Dan Humphries' best friend from Brooklyn, Vanessa Abrams, on Gossip Girl from 2007-2011, leaving for seasons five and six before returning for the series' finale, "New York I Love You, XOXO".

The two began dating in 2008, but they broke up in 2010 when Szohr was suspected of being unfaithful to Westwick during her birthday celebration in Los Angeles in late March.

It is clear these two are no longer on speaking terms after their Gossip Girl time together and subsequently dramatic ending.

12 BFFs: Shannen Doherty & Holly Marie Combs Have A Charmed Friendship

Holly Marie Combs, 44, and Shannen Doherty were two/thirds of the really cool, feminine, and take-charge threesome known as the Charmed Ones. The show Charmed centered on three sisters that had magical powers and fought forces of evil; it aired from 1998-2006. Doherty, however, only starred on the show for the first three seasons due to many conflicts on set with a third sister, Alyssa Milano, but more on that later.

Doherty, 47, played Prue, big sister, and Combs played Piper, the middle sister. The two worked together for three short years before Doherty left the show, but the two had been friends long before that and were still quite inseparable. They still get dinner together, go to shows and events together, and spend quality best friend time!

11 Not Speaking: Ian Somerhalder & Nina Dobrev Call It Quits And It Was Awkward

hollywoodlife.com

These two stars played incredibly destined best friends-turned-lovers/soulmates on the hit CW show The Vampire Diaries which aired from 2009-2017. Their relationship off-screen, however, was the really interesting story. The two sparked rumors in 2010 with a trip to Australia, but did not make it official until June 2011 despite the fact that they were seen together for many months.

They dated for almost three years before breaking up in May 2013. The two remained friends until things got too tense on set.

Rumors swirled that that was one reason Dobrev left the show after six seasons: it was because things with her and Ian got too awkward, especially because their characters were dating on-screen! These two vampires are clearly no longer on speaking terms.

10 BFFs: Lauren Graham & Alexis Bledel Are Our Favorite Mother/Daughter Duo

Twitter

Lauren Graham had a pretty decent career before she hit it big-- correction: huge-- with her Gilmore Girls character: spunky, passionate, and independent Lorelai Gilmore. Gilmore Girls aired from 2000-2007 and now has a cult following that few shows can compare to. Alexis Bledel played her daughter, Rory, and a star was born there, too. What is wonderful is that these two get along SO well off the screen just as well as they do on it! When they reunited to do the Netflix special Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life the two stars said it felt like they had never really left Stars Hollow and were so happy to be back together and working on the same set. We really don't blame them!

9 Not Speaking: Alyssa Milano & Shannen Doherty Argue On Set

These two femme fatale stars played characters on Charmed that actually had a lot in common; however, onset and off-screen was a completely different story. Shannen Doherty played big sister Prue as stated earlier; Prue was bold, brave, and an incredible leader for the sisters. Milano played little sister, Phoebe, who was outgoing, bold, and equally blunt as Prue.

When Doherty left the show in 2001 after three years, rumors swirled for years about why. Many claimed it was because of drama on set between her and Milano.

One blames the other, of course, because isn't that how it always goes? Either way, the two still are not speaking to this day and they both still point the finger at each other, regardless of stating it bluntly or not.

8 BFFs: Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles Are Supernatural And Smokey

Popsugar

Another set of brothers on our list, Padalecki and Ackles play brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively, on the hit CW show, Supernatural. The series started in 2005 and was just renewed for a 14th season for the 2018-2019 television year. Padalecki, 36, had his start on Gilmore Girls before transitioning to something a little darker. Ackles, who just turned 40, had small roles on Dawson's Creek and Smallville before joining the demon-hunting business.

The two are incredibly close in real life after working almost 15 years together. They go to events together, love to mess around and play jokes on each other during filming, and even have family dates with their actress wives and children! See more of their bromance here.

7 Not Speaking: Chad Michael Murray & Sophia Bush Whirlwind OTH Marriage

Both Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush were on our list already; however, this one is a unique situation due to the fact that these two were actually married! The two met on the set of One Tree Hill in 2003 and began dating shortly thereafter.

They got married in early 2005, but just ten months later, as it was rumored that Murray had a secret relationship with Paris Hilton. Bush filed for an annulment from the hunky blonde actor.

This would not have been a big deal if they could have just gone their separate ways; however, the two were very much still working on the set of the CW drama as it was about to start its' fourth season! It was said that they always remained professional with each other on set, but clearly it couldn't have been too easy spending that much time with an ex. After Murray left the series in 2009, the two do not speak anymore.

6 BFFs: Paul Wesley & Ian Somerhalder Are Our Favorite Vampire Bros

Glitter Magazine

Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder have had roles before The Vampire Diaries, but the two really shot to fame with this supernatural CW show. Wesley, 35, starred in Fallen, Army Wives, and 24. Somerhalder, 39, was famous for his role on Lost.

When The Vampire Diaries premiered in 2009, everyone quickly became obsessed with the two brothers who had great chemistry and a good cop/bad cop routine going on within their storylines. Their characters each grew to love each other by series' end. The two in real life also became incredibly close and are the perfect example of a bromance, similar to our Supernatural stars on this list. They often have many reunions at certain events and have nothing but great things to say about each other.

5 Not Speaking: Chad Michael Murray & James Lafferty Are The Brothers That Didn't Get Along

We have already had two sets of TV brothers on our list that are great friends in real life: Ian & Paul and Jared & Jensen. However, we have yet to discuss the TV brothers from One Tree Hill that were anything but civil near the series' end, despite their characters having happy endings.

Things were fine on set even with Murray and Bush as they agreed to keep things professional. However, in 2008, Lafferty began dating Bush with Murray spilling the beans in a talk show interview.

He stated that things were fine and that he and Lafferty were friends despite this, but there were several rumors that the two had bad blood due to this. Bush has a thing for dating her co-stars it seems, because she dated Austin Nichols later on in the series too!

4 BFFs: Alexis Bledel & Blake Lively, Sisterhood Soul Sisters

Okay, this one may not be as fair and correct as all of the other pairings on our list, but it is just hard to resist discussing beautiful blonde Blake Lively's friendship with fellow CW star and cutie Alexis Bledel!

The two met on the set of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005 and even reunited for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 in 2008. Their fellow Sisterhood co-stars, Amber Tamblyn and America Ferrera, are often seen taking selfies with Lively, 30, and Bledel, 37. The fabulous foursome often meet up and have little reunions here and there at events or dinners hosted at one of their homes... and we can't help but think of how Bledel and Lively were on The CW at the same time!

3 Not Speaking: Taylor Momsen & Virtually The Entire Gossip Girl Cast No Longer Speak

Popsugar

When Gossip Girl started in 2007, it quickly became a national phenomenon. We couldn't get enough of Serena's cool girl attitude or Blair's wardrobe. Even little sister Jenny Humphries impressed us with her mean girl skills and creative, fashionable ways. However, on set, the girls told a much different story with the way they interacted-- or did they?Taylor Momsen played innocent sister Jenny turned bad girl that lied to her father, skipped school, and stole clothes. Over time, Momsen grew to be quite similar on set.

It was reported that she was always late for filming, had a bad attitude, and wasn't very kind to cast or crew members.

In 2010, she left the show for an "indefinite hiatus" given to her by producers, even though her contract ran through to the end. It was clear this was because of her diva-like behavior. Momsen and the cast currently do not speak.

2 BFFs: Jamie King & Rachel Bilson, Hart Of Dixie Frenemies Turned Besties

Beauty Rachel Bilson is probably best known for her role on The O.C. as Summer Roberts. After that show ended in 2007 after four seasons, Bilson had small roles here and there until she landed a role on the CW show Hart of Dixie as the main character, Zoe Hart, in 2011. There, she met fellow actress Jaime King who played Lemon Breeland, Zoe's enemy on the show. Over time, the two characters learned to really like-- and rely-- on each other. In real life, Bilson and King are still friends to this day even though the show ended in 2015. In 2014, King discussed how she and Bilson are close friends and even gushed about their motherhood advice and tips they give each other!

1 Not Speaking: Penn Badgley & Blake Lively's Relationship Could Not Last

Blake Lively, 30, has been seen several times on our list, but never in this capacity. She has many best friends from her days on The CW and a few enemies, too. However, probably none can compare to her relationship with fellow Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley, 31.

The two dated from 2007, virtually as soon as the show started, to the fall of 2010. Ironically, their on-screen counterparts, Serena and Dan, had just broken up for good on the show, too.

Due to having to maintain a professional relationship, the two remained okay while on set for the remainder of the two years that the show aired. Now, however, Lively is happily married to actor Ryan Reynolds and Badgley has probably moved on as well.
