"Jenny From The Block" is now Jenny with a rock. The fist of a ring that landed on JLO's finger on March 9th, 2019 briefly broke the internet– Alex Rodriguez has gone from boyfriend to fiancé (and it's all anyone can talk about).
"She said yes" was the simple social media caption from A-Rod as he took to IG to share the news. With a sunset beach backdrop, this proposal is set to top the most romantic celeb proposals of all time.
They've been inseparable ever since they started dating back in 2017. Wherever JLO goes, so does A-Rod. Jen's IG shows A-Rod sitting opposite her on private jets. Or lounging with her on yachts. Even the couple's Christmas posts come with the biggest #Couple ever.
With fans getting ever-so-slightly annoyed that this guy hadn't yet proposed, March 2019 brought some relief. At the age of 43, A-Rod is somewhat younger than Jen (who turns 50 this year), but the age gap seems irrelevant here. Jennifer Lopez has her standards. With "diva" demands documented by The Daily Mail and the newspaper reporting Jen commanding up to $20 million per Idol cycle, this is one fussy lady.

Oh, come on. Could this guy be more perfect? February 2019 marked two years for this couple. We'd seen them chilling, we'd seen them working out. Mostly, we were waiting for the engagement (that we finally got).

It's the most romantic city in the world. From someone who was born there, trust us– Paris is the #Couples destination of choice. It's got old-school glam. Endless movies have been filmed there. Where Carrie Bradshaw wound up for her #BigFinale on Sex and The City? Paris, of course.

4 He Was Waiting For The 'Perfect' Moment To Propose
Not everybody gets engaged "Ariana Grande style." With both JLO and A-Rod having gone through divorce, it's understandable that Alex waited. Two years isn't all too bad. In July 2018, Hollywood Life reported that A-Rod was planning to propose, but that he wanted to get it absolutely right.
"Now, he’s just got to find the right moment to propose. He wants it to be absolutely perfect,” a source told the media outlet. Given the sunset setting and that ring...yeah, this guy got it perfect, all right.
3 And He Took His Time
Glamour puts a two-year timeline to this relationship, although Jen's 2019 IG update could have told us that. In the grand scheme of things, two years isn't the world's longest time, but let's remember that the clock is ticking.
Jen (hard as it may seem to believe) is 49. Getting married when you're approaching middle age is done all the time, but not everybody wants to wait. Still, this girl stayed patient, and she got her dream man. Alex is 43 years old.
2 How Much She Means To Him 'Cannot Be Put Into Words'
"We are meant to be, and how much you mean to me cannot be put into words." When Alex took to IG to celebrate two years of love with JLO, he said it from the heart. While this guy did eventually find words, there's a deeper meaning here.
It's a feeling we all know. Whether it's love or hate (hopefully love), you just can't put it into words. Finding a ring and putting it on JLO's finger seemed to be A-Rod's answer, and we're honestly so glad he did it.
1 If This Doesn't Feel Right, We Don't Know What Does
A few days after the engagement ring appeared on JLO's IG, we got this pic. It's beyond perfect. Standing there in the sand with the lapping water around them, this was no staged Bachelorette proposal.
A simple caption with the date is all JLO needed for this pic. Within 24 hours of being posted, the pic of Alex on one knee had racked up over seven million likes. We never did get over these two. Now we only have the wedding to look forward to (and boy, it will be some wedding).
