The next generation of Kardashian-Jenner babies are taking over the world. With six adult children in the Kardashian-Jenner family, we can assume momager Kris Jenner will have her hands full with all the beautiful grandchildren she’s getting.
The oldest Kardashian, Kourtney, got the offspring ball rolling first in 2009 and then in 2012 with her oldest children, Mason and Penelope. Kim Kardashian followed suit with her first born, North West, in 2013. Since then, Kourtney gave birth to her third child, Kim gave the world two more babies, and Rob, Khloe and Kylie all provided one of their own.
In most families, there will probably be a favorite child. And it's no different with pop culture’s favorite family. It has been argued that Kim is Kris’ favorite daughter, and now, perhaps, it can be said that her daughter, North, gets a lot of that same attention. In addition to sassy North, the media also focuses a lot on the youngest of the brood, Kylie’s daughter Stormi and Khloe’s baby, True.
With nine Kardashian babies to keep up with, it can be hard remembering everything about the ones who don’t get those front-page stories. Between Mason, Penelope and Reign Disick, Saint and Chicago West, and Dream Kardashian, trust us, there are lots of interesting details and serious cuteness to fill our brains with for a lifetime.
25 Mason Is The Oldest Kardashian Grandkid
Mason Dash Disick was the first Kardashian baby born in the empire. He was born on December 14, 2009, making him nine years old now. For three years, he had his parents, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, and the wild Kardashian-Jenner family to himself.
The oldest Disick kiddo is also becoming the very first of this new generation of Kar-Jenners to get their own confessional on the reality show. Yup, you read that right. According to Us Weekly, Kim Kardashian revealed that Mase, who has been a part of Keeping Up With The Kardashians since the day he was born, will officially sit for a confessional during the show’s 16th season.
24 Mason's Name Has A Special Meaning
Kourtney and Scott put some serious thought into their firstborn’s name. In an interview with Life & Style, according to E! News, Mason was the only name that really stood out for Kourtney.
"Right before he was born, I told my aunt we were thinking about going with that for a name. She told me that Mason means the same thing in English that Kardashian means [to people of Armenia]—stone worker. Another aunt told me my great uncle used to use the name Mason when he made dinner reservations, because Kardashian was too long. When I heard that, I thought, 'Oh my god, it's meant to be.'"
His middle name, Dash, is short for Kardashian and was also the late Robert Kardashian’s nickname.
23 Mason And Reign Are Born On The Same Day
Mason may have had his parents to himself for a couple of years before the siblings and cousins started coming, but once they did it likely became hard for him to get anything to himself anymore, including his birthday. Both Mason and his younger brother, Reign, were born on December 14, just five years apart.
“It is still crazy to me that I have two boys born on the same exact day,” Kourtney posted on social media, according to Us Weekly. “I really tried to not have it happen, so they could each have their day, but there was no way around it. It is truly so special and meant to be.”
22 The Name Reign Was Also A Potential Choice For Mason And Penelope's Names
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of naming a child, you know it can sometimes be tricky and tons of names will be bouncing around your head until you decide on one. Reign Aston Disick is the youngest of Kourtney’s babies and has one of the more unique names of the three.
According to People, Kourtney had the name Reign on her list of names for Mason and then again for Penelope, but spelled Rain. “I'm never certain [with names] until they're born,” she stated in the interview with People. This one is super-cute, though and with initials like his (RAD) you’re bound to be a pretty cool little guy.
21 Saint Was Born 20 Days Before His Due Date
Saint West is Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s second child. Much like with his older sister, North, Saint’s pregnancy gained a whole lot of media hype. Kim had a really complicated pregnancy and birth with North, so when she became pregnant with Saint she needed to take a lot of extra precautions.
For this reason, Kim was induced before her due date and little Saint was born 20 days before his due date. Despite being born at 36 weeks, according to Heightline, Saint was born healthy and weighed eight pounds.
20 Chicago Was Born Via Surrogate
After the medically-complicated births of North and Saint, Kim was told she could not carry another child, so she and Kanye chose to go with a surrogate for their third baby. After considering different surrogate candidates, the couple made their choice.
Kim revealed to People that she knew they found a good match because “you know when you can trust someone.” She kept in very close contact with the woman and although it was difficult giving up carrying her own child, Kim ultimately had a great experience with surrogacy. Baby Chicago West was born healthy on January 15, 2018.
19 And Kimye Paid $45,000 For Chicago's Birth
Choosing to have a child through surrogacy isn’t easy and it definitely isn’t an inexpensive decision. According to TMZ, the Kardashian-Wests paid their surrogate a total of $45,000, in addition to having to pay the surrogacy agency a $68,850 deposit.
After Chicago was born, Kim thanked the woman publicly, saying,“We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care.”
Kim and Kanye are on their way to having their fourth child, another little boy who will be born through surrogacy too, but the parents chose a different surrogate because their first surrogate became pregnant with her own child, according to Harper’s Bazaar.
18 Dream Is The Only Grandkid With The Kardashian Name
Although there are nine Kar-Jenner babies in the world right now, Rob Kardashian’s daughter with Blac Chyna is the only one to bear the Kardashian surname. The other babies have their fathers' last names.
Dream Renée Kardashian was born on November 10, 2016. Before the little princess was born, both Chyna and Rob agreed they would not be giving their daughter the traditional “K” name. According to a source for People, "Rob and Chyna had the name Dream for a long time. They named her Dream because they’ve always said she’s a dream come true."
17 Saint And Chicago Are Really Close
Despite being two years apart from each other, Saint and Chicago are super close, and it is so cute. Momma Kim has shared several pictures of these two, calling them inseparable and gushing about how much Saint loves his little sister.
This is a complete turnaround from Saint’s early relationship with his older sis, North. It seemed North had a little more trouble adjusting to the older sibling role than Saint did. In an interview on Ellen, Kim admitted that North would hardly talk to Saint and the two had some serious rivalry to sort through.
16 Saint West's Name Was Chosen By Kanye
After naming their first child, the whole world was tuned in to figure out what Kim and Kanye would be naming their second born. According to E! News, Kim’s rocky, and very public pregnancy played a huge influence in naming their boy. The couple chose the name Saint because their baby boy was a blessing at the end of such a difficult journey.
According to Us Weekly, Saint also has ties to Kanye’s fashion background. He studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.
15 Chicago's Name Is Also Special
Everything about Chicago is special, including her name. Kanye West’s hometown is Chicago, Illinois. The windy city has had a huge influence in who the rap star/fashion designer is today.
"Kanye came up with the name and Kim loved the significance behind the name. It was a mutual decision, which they discussed and agreed upon together,” explained a source for People, noting that Kanye wanted to pay homage to his hometown and honor his mother, who passed away in 2007.
The whole Kardashian-Jenner Klan loves Chicago’s name and the sweet baby is often called “Chi” (shy) for short.
14 Chicago And Saint Don't Have Middle Names
It’s typically traditional for parents to give their children a first name, a middle name and a last name. This is not the case for Kim and Kanye. Once Chicago West’s birth certificate was released it became clear that just like the older two West babies, Chicago was without a middle name.
Kim did, however, post an image of Chicago with the caption reading, “Chicago Noel,” leading fans to believe the newest baby did, indeed, have a middle name. Kim explained, according to The Inquisitr, that she wanted to use Noel, which is Kim’s middle name, as Chicago’s, but Kanye didn’t like it. Now she uses it as an “unofficial” middle name for Chi.
13 Penelope Got Her Very First Haircut At The Age Of Six
A first haircut is a huge milestone for a child. Usually, this momentous event happens during the toddler years, but for Kourtney’s middle child, Penelope, it happened for the first time when she was six years old!
Penelope decided on a choppy bob, one that is very similar to her aunt Khloe’s hair. After Kourtney shared a sweet image of P’s new hairdo, tons of negative comments came flooding in targeting the adorable six-year-old girl. People really got out of hand, with comments like, “Who cut it? Edward Scissor hands [sic]?” and “I can’t believe that is a girl, [sic] especially a Kardashian.”
12 Mason Was 'Dropped' As A Baby
When your whole life is filmed for television, even some of your less-favorable moments are bound to hit the headlines. Kourtney learned this the hard way when Mason was just a baby.
“Mason did fall on the floor once by mistake. It was the worst moment. I freaked out and looked online,” Kourt explained about the time Mase rolled off her bed, according to BabyGaga. “He was fine but crying, so I e-mailed the doctor at four in the morning. He wrote me right back, yet I stayed up all night to watch him sleep to make sure he was okay. I’ve since lowered our mattress to the floor.”
11 Dream Has Already Been A Social Media Trend With #PoorDream
Dream Kardashian hasn’t had the easiest of childhoods, and she’s only two years old. Her parents, Rob and Blac Chyna, had a tumultuous relationship and an even worse breakup. The two engaged in a slew of arguments over social media with Dream stuck in the middle of it all.
“My daughter is the best thing that happened to me and she will know that Chyna did this out of spite not love cuz she mad my little sister took her baby daddy,” Rob posted as one of his many rants. “Poor Dream” quickly became a trending topic.
10 Reign's Long Hair Became A Controversial Topic
People really seem to have an issue with what Kourtney chooses to do with her children’s hair. Her youngest boy, Reign, has exceptionally long hair, which could be said to be unconventional for a four-year-old boy.
Fans began mom-shaming the mother of three, calling out for her to cut her son’s hair. More than one “critic” told Kourt to give the boy a haircut and to stop treating him like a girl. According to a source close to the family that spoke to People, Reign likes his hair long and until he requests it to be cut his parents are likely to let it keep growing.
9 Penelope's Hair Choices Have Received Backlash, Too
Poor Penelope can’t win when it comes to her hair choices. In recent times, she was criticized for her short haircut, but the darling six-year-old girl has also been trolled over her temporary long hair choices. When Penelope and her cousin North were two, the duo got their first pair of “baby extensions.”
And, as is social media fashion, the online critics had to come out and share their feelings about the temporary extensions. According to Perez Hilton, fans criticized the extensions as being freaky and “absolutely [dishonorable].”
8 Saint Is The 'King Of Hide And Seek'
Kim’s social media pages are full of sweet images of her children playing. In one image, Kim warmly referred to Saint as the “King of Hide and Seek.” The adorable three year old was playing a game of hide and seek in a small ball pit.
In one image, Saint was almost completely covered by the balls. According to People, Kim shared with fans how serious little Saint takes the fun game and that he enjoys every minute of it.
7 Model Michael Girgenti Once Claimed He Was Mason's Real Dad
When you’re as famous as the Kardashian-Jenner "klan," you are probably going to come across people who don’t have your best interest in mind. A few years after Mason was born, a model named Michael Girgenti came forward claiming he was Mason’s real dad, not Scott Disick.
According to Radar Online, Kourtney and Girgenti had a brief fling in March 2009, while Kourtney and Scott were on a break. In 2013, Girgenti took Kourtney to court for custody of Mason and demanded a paternity test. The results came back proving he was not the father, but Girgenti still doesn’t believe it.
6 Chicago Had An 'Alice In One-derland' First Birthday
With parents like Kim and Kanye, you can expect every one of your birthday celebrations to be seriously grand. For Chicago’s fist birthday, Kimye really went all out with an “Alice in One-derland” theme. The decorations, food and cake were all epic and straight out of the fairytale, according to Harper’s Bazaar.
Kim went all out for the big day and even brought in several costumed actors to resemble the story's main characters. Although Chicago probably won’t remember this magical party, she will always have the pictures to look back on.
5 Dream Has A Brother Not Related To The Kardashians
Dream Kardashian is the only one of Kris Jenner’s grandkids who has the Kardashian last name, and she is also the only one with a sibling outside the "klan." Dream’s mother, Blac Chyna, had a child with rapper Tyga before entering a relationship with Rob.
Dream’s older brother, King Cairo, is four years older than her and absolutely adores his little sister. Chyna shares images of the two bonding and occasionally wearing matching outfits for holiday portraits. She describes the love between her and her two children as “unconditional,” according to E! News.
4 Reign Is Protective Of His Cousin, True
There are several duos in this new generation of Kardashian-Jenners, and one of the more adorable pairs is Reign and Khloe Kardashian’s baby girl, True Thompson. Kourtney shared an image of the two sitting in a chair together with Reign holding the smiling baby.
Kourtney captioned the shot with “he protects her.” With the world these babies are growing up in and the amount of trolls they already have feeding off them, True is going to appreciate having her older cousins by her side.
3 Saint Has Already Made His MLB Debut
Before he even turned three, Saint West joined his father Kanye on the pitcher's mound at a professional MLB game. Kanye West is considered the greatest Chicago celebrity, according to MLB News, so bringing him to a White Sox game made perfect sense.
Saint spent much of the game on his daddy’s shoulders, but he did get the chance to throw out his own ceremonial first pitch before the game started. Saint could one day become a professional baseball player, so this totally counts as his MLB debut.
2 Penelope Is Often Referred To As North's Sidekick
There are a lot of shadows to fall under when you are growing up in the Kardashian-Jenner empire. Penelope knows all too well what it’s like to be called the sidekick. Penelope often gets lost in the Kardashian shuffle despite being the second oldest, and she is usually only pictured with North.
She was once even photographed wearing a shirt with the words, "What would North do?"
However, Penelope is so much more than just North’s bestie. She has a lot of great fashion moments and silly antics all on her own.
1 Scott Once Questioned If Reign Was Really His
Kourtney and Scott’s relationship was up and down all the time before their latest split. According to The Inquisitr, because of their shaky relationship around the time Reign was conceived, Scott has had trouble believing that Reign is his biological child.
A “family insider” explained that Scott has a really close relationship with both Mason and Penelope, but the bond with Reign isn’t as strong. Rumors claim Scott has asked for a paternity test but Kourtney hasn't been willing to give it to him. Nonetheless, Scott and Reign get along beautifully and have a strong love for each other.
