“I’m definitely more youthful than other plus-size brands,” she said. “I’m obviously not 19 years old anymore, but I still like being confident. On the red carpet, I like to wear body-con dresses that really show the silhouette of my figure. I like showing my décolletage and a bit of skin.”

Another aspect that we love about Wilson is that she breaks the Hollywood mould. In an industry that is so beauty oriented, it’s refreshing to see a round woman have a voice. Not only does she represent body positivity but she encourages females to strive for more than just good looks.

According to Cosmopolitan, Wilson spoke backstage the MTV Movie Awards and had this to say: “I think sometimes females look at Victoria's Secret models and think that they have to model themselves after that, but I really don't think that's the best; even though they are called 'models,' they're not the best people to model yourself after.”

If there’s one thing that Wilson knows how to do it's making an impression. She chose a very creative way to get the attention of director Michael Bay when she auditioned for the 2013 film, Pain & Gain.

“Usually Mr. [Michael] Bay casts supermodels in his movies,” she said. “So I went into my audition and I put in my bag some nunchucks, and I go, ‘If the situation arises if my comedy is dying, I’ll pull out my nunchucks and show him my ninja skills.’ So, I did it for Michael Bay and he just went, ‘You’re in the movie!’

"People ask if my parents are hippies, but they're actually very conservative," Wilson told the media outlet. "A girl with my name sang at their wedding and that's where my name came from. My three siblings and I all have middle names after English royalty. Mine is Elizabeth, which is what I was known as at school."

Celebrities are often victims of false reporting but Wilson actually did something about it. She won a defamation trial against Bauer Media, a magazine publisher. The tabloids claimed that she lied about the origin of her name, her age and her upbringing in Sydney. Wilson accused the mag of costing her Hollywood roles.

According to USA Today, Wilson told reporters, "The reason I'm here is not for damages, it's to clear my name. I was hoping the jury would do the right thing and send a message to these tabloids and they've done that so for me, it's over in my mind."

She even belted out a Kris Kross hit when she was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Not only is Wilson super talented when it comes to acting and singing but she has brains too. She’s a self-proclaimed math nerd and has no problem admitting it. “All my family has very good mathematical abilities - like, so dorky. I was the dork then in school - on any maths exams I'd get 100%. I just knew how to do maths and most people would hate it, but for some reason, it just came,” Wilson said, as Indie Wire reports.

4 She Was A Shy Kid

One wouldn’t think that someone as outspoken at Wilson would ever have a problem with shyness but the truth is that she was a totally shy child. Yet, an unexpected outcome came about from her bashful nature when her mother came up with a creative solution to bring her out of her shell.

“Mum dragged me to an acting class when I was 14,” Wilson said, as The Daily Telegraph reports. “I had no ambition to become an actor; the classes were meant to help me overcome my shyness so I’d be able to talk to people and answer questions at school. The moment I started, I thought, this is good!”

Via Hollywood Reporter

Not only has Wilson accomplished all the things on this list but she also pulled triple duty as a creator, writer and executive producer for her own sitcom, Super Fun Night. The show only lasted one season. She spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the experience.

"I have so much respect for anyone who's been a writer-performer on a network show because you don't realize how hard it's going to be until you're actually in there doing it," Wilson said. "For me, it was a seven-day, 17-hours-a-day job. No one could ever prepare you for how insane that kind of schedule is. It's like doing four and a half movies back to back."
