As November continues to fast approach, there are two things to be excited for- Thanksgiving (if you're American), and the upcoming Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (which is open for anyone to enjoy). While some may roll their eyes at this annual tradition, many more are eager to see what's going to happen this year. As revealed by Cosmopolitan this past Tuesday, there's plenty to know about this year's fashion show that will either get you excited or make you even more excited than you already were.
After hosting the event overseas the last couple of years- most recently Paris, France, and Shanghai, China- it will be returning to the United States. It will be held in New York City, New York, meaning that more models will be able to attend. After the many visa issues that happened with last year's Shanghai show, there's hope that it will be a minor to non-existent issue this year.
Speaking of models, many veterans will be making their returns this year. Notable returns include (but aren't limited to) Leomie Anderson, Georgia Fowler, and Behati Prinsloo. Prinsloo's return is a bigger deal since she's returning two years after having her children, Dusty Rose and Gio Grace, with husband Adam Levine. New faces modeling at the show include Winnie Harlow, Duckie Thot, and Yasmin Wijnaldum, just to name a few. One model not returning is Alessandra Ambrosio, who recently announced her retirement after 17 years of doing the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Meanwhile, supermodels Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid will indeed be there. The return of Gigi's sister Bella, however, remains a mystery.
As for performers, there's been no word on who exactly that will be. There haven't even been any rumors on who it might be. Something else that has been confirmed is the first designer collaboration for this year's show. Known as VSxMary Katrantzou, it will likely be a colorful and playful capsule collection with plenty of patterns. There's no doubt that this collaboration with the Greece-based fashion designer will be a fun one for both brands.
It's clear that there are still many details about this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that are not yet known. They might be revealed later this week, or not until November rolls around. Regardless, there's plenty to already be excited about in anticipation of this well-known fashion show.
