It's hard to believe that under all those costumes, makeup, and hairdos, there are some pretty attractive people in the Game of Thrones cast. Of course, there are some actors and actresses who have the luxury of always looking as hot onscreen as they do offscreen, such as Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), and Emilia Clark (Daenerys Targaryen). However, some of the cast are not afforded the same luxury. Considering most of the characters have never taken a bath in their lives, some of the members of the cast look downright gross onscreen. You'll never believe what they look like on the red carpet.

Some of the actors and actresses may not have gotten as much screen time as the leads but they were integral to the story and sometimes the lesser known characters still have a lot of fans. Some of them may have been your favorites and were gone too soon but who knows--maybe they'll come back. You never know what could happen. The rest of the actors may be regulars on the show but they're so beautiful, seeing them all dressed up makes us swoon! Despite all the dirt and grime (and the occasional face mask), these actors and actresses sure clean up nice! Don't worry, we've added photos of the characters next to the stars who portray them because even the biggest Game of Thrones fans may not be able to recognize them all!

20 Daario Naharis/Michiel Huisman

Daario Naharis was first played by Ed Skrein who had super long hair which gave him a weird Fabio vibe. Fortunately, Daario was recast and Michiel Huisman came into our lives. Besides being totally hot, the Dutch actor was also the former singer and guitar player in the band Fontane and he left the band to pursue a solo career as a singer-songwriter. So now we know that he looks great in a suit and he can play guitar. Check and check. Aside from his Game of Thrones role, he landed a role in World War Z alongside Brad Pitt and also a role in Wild as the hottie who hooks up with Reese Witherspoon in Oregon. He is currently filming a movie called The Red Sea Diving Resort in which he will star alongside Chris Evans.

19 Sansa Stark/Sophie Turner

Sansa Stark has been through a lot over the years and after all of her suffering, she became a much more likable character. Though at first she was irritating and bratty, she became a strong and resilient fighter. However, while Sansa has suffered, Sophie Turner has flourished. Thanks to her Game of Thrones success, she portrayed a young Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse and despite the movie's critical failure, she will reprise the role of Jean in X-Men: Dark Phoenix which will premiere in 2018. Sophie Turner is also a lot luckier in love than her onscreen persona since she is currently dating former teenage heartthrob Joe Jonas. Though she said she prefers to keep the relationship private, she revealed recently that she feels that she is "living in a fishbowl." However, the two seem very happy together.

18 Osha/Natalia Tena

When Osha first appeared on the show, you may have thought to yourself that she looked familiar but you couldn't place her. That's probably because she played Tonks in the Harry Potter movies. Without her colorful hair and wand, Natalia Tena looks a lot different in Westeros than she does in the Wizarding World. Since Osha is a Wildling, she is, well, pretty wild and she consistently has matted, messy hair, and a face full of dirt. However, with a bit of makeup and a nice dress, she looks like a completely different person. In addition to being an actress, she also plays the accordion and is the lead singer for the band, Molotov Jukebox. Like Faye Marsay, she also appeared in an episode of Black Mirror and she is starring in a new series, Wisdom of the Crowd, alongside Jeremy Piven and Richard T. Jones.

17 Cersei Lannister/Lena Headey

Cersei Lannister is the baddest b**ch in Westeros who doesn't let anything stand her way and Lena Headey is perfect for the role. Besides playing the powerful, formidable, and diabolical queen in Game of Thrones, she played the villainous drug lord in Dredd and she starred in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as Sarah Conner, one of the greatest female action heroes in cinematic history. She definitely has a knack for playing queens since she also appeared in 300 and 300: Rise of an Empire as Queen Gorgo. Basically, she's really good at playing characters who don't take crap from anyone. Though she is a coldhearted villain in Game of Thrones who we all hate to love, in real life we just love her. With her short dark hair and a bunch of interesting tattoos, she's a total babe.

16 Gilly/Hannah Murray

Hannah Murray is one of the several stars on Game of Thrones who got their start on Skins. She starred on the show in 2007 alongside Nicholas Hoult, Dev Patel, and Joe Dempsie. While they left the show in 2008, she stayed on until 2013. Though she plays Gilly, the homely daughter/wife of Crastor (puke), in real life, she is a lot prettier than she appears onscreen. On the show, she is usually covered in dirt and has a bewildered expression consistently on her face but she definitely cleans up nice! Who knew there was a total babe underneath all that grime? Aside from her work on Game of Thrones and Skins, she recently appeared in Kathryn Bigelow's Detroit alongside Star Wars' John Boyega. This girl is definitely going places.

15 Gendry/Joe Dempsie

Gendry plays a bigger part in the story of Game of Thrones than anyone realized and it has left many fans waiting with bated breath for his return. Besides being an important character, he is also a total hottie. Joe Dempsie is another Game of Thrones actor who appeared on Skins and he has also appeared in two other British TV shows, Doctor Who and Merlin. He finally made his return in the most recently aired episode! Apparently Joe Dempsie's name appeared on the IMDB page for the episode "Eastwatch" which has given many people hope that their fav would have returned to claim the throne. Which now everyone knows is half true so far!

14 Brienne of Tarth/Gwendoline Christie

Brienne of Tarth may not have been a fan favorite at first but the fiercely loyal warrior soon won every fan's heart. Though her character is described in the books as unattractive, tall, muscular, with a broken nose and crooked teeth. Despite her outward appearance, she is one of the few characters with any honor or sense of duty. While most women in the high fantasy genre are generally depicted as slender, feminine, and graceful, the very existence of Brienne defies the genre. Despite her unattractive appearance onscreen, Gwendoline Christie is a total goddess. Thankfully, Christie's talent has been recognized by Hollywood and she appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Captain Phasma and she is set to return in the next instalment of the series. She is also currently filming an untitled Robert Zemeckis film alongside Janelle Monáe.

13 Dickon Tarly/Tom Hopper

We've seen Sam's younger brother, Dickon Tarly in the fifth season when he was played by Freddie Stroma who you may have recognized from his role as the obnoxious Cormac Mclaggen from the Harry Potter movies. However, Stroma didn't return to the show because the schedule conflicted with his now cancelled TV show Time After Time (oops) and Dickon was recast. But that's good news for us because Black Sails actor, Tom Hopper is the new Dickon Tarly and he is quite the hunk! Though he just appeared on the show, he's already everyone's fave since he made such a big impact in the episode and also because he's very, very attractive. Seriously, how can you not love him? We hope we haven't seen the last of him because he is all kinds of handsome.

12 Loras Tyrell/Finn Jones

Loras Tyrell may have initially come across as the bratty pretty-boy but he is a pretty harmless character compared to the rest of the devious characters in King's Landing and beyond. The actor who plays Maergery Tyrell's younger brother, Finn Jones, is not only a talented and attractive actor but he is also involved in charity. In 2015, Jones helped raise money with Oxfam campaigners to help fund their appeal to support Syrian Refugees. In addition to his role on Game of Thrones, the hot English actor has also appeared in the Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures. Thanks to his Game of Thrones success, he was cast as the lead, Danny Rand, in the new series, Iron Fist, which is set in the Marvel cinematic universe and you can watch it on Netflix.

11 Grey Worm/Jacob Anderson

Grey Worm may be one of the Unsullied but that hasn't kept him from catching Missandei's eye--or ours. Lucky for us, pretty much the only thing that Jacob Anderson has in common with his Game of Thrones character is that he's a total hottie. Anderson has done some other TV work such as his appearance on the ITV drama series Broadchurch and, like several other Game of Thrones stars (Joe Dempsie and Hannah Murray), he had a role in the UK TV series Skins. Despite his successful acting career, he is actually more focused on his alternative R&B music career. As a musician, he uses the alias Raleigh Ritchie and he just released his debut album in 2016. He's a talented musician, actor, and he's super hot! He is quite the catch.

10 Missandei/Nathalie Emmanuel

Though Missandei is an adult on the TV show, she is only ten when she first appears in the books! Nathalie Emmanuel is no child (she was 24 when she first appeared on the show) but when she was 10 years old herself, she starred as Nala in the West End production of The Lion King! Following her Game of Thrones success, she has co-starred in Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious as the computer hacker Ramsay and she also appeared in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. She is also set to star in the next instalment in the Maze Runner series. She is one of the few women of color on Game of Thrones and she said in an interview that she loves it when fans come up to her and thank her for representing strong women of color on TV.

9 Ygritte/Rose Leslie

Ygritte is portrayed in the books the same way she is in the show: a fierce redheaded ranger who captures Jon Snow's heart. Luckily for us, the two of them found love both onscreen and off. Rose Leslie and Kit Harington went public with their relationship in 2016 and they are a perfect couple. We're certainly glad that they have a happy ending even if their characters didn't. The Scottish actress's first big TV role was as Gwen Dawson in Downton Abbey and she also stars in the new CBS political drama series, The Good Fight which was produced by Ridley Scott and was also renewed for a second season. Not only is she a talented actress, she is also a skilled archer and speaks fluent French. Jon Snow might know nothing but Kit Harington definitely knows a thing or two about winning a woman's heart.

8 Melisandre/Carice van Houten

Melisandre is a red priestess of R'hllor and she has a lot of different names: The Red Woman, Red Witch, The King's Red Shadow, Lady Red, and Melony but the actress who plays her only has one name: Carice van Houten. Besides her big Game of Thrones, she's appeared in a lot of campy horror flicks like Black Death, Incarnate, Intruders, and Dorothy Mills. Of course, Melisandre is supposed to be very beautiful (according to the books, at least) and you can tell that she is very pretty (in a mysterious kind of way) but out of all that red and without that icy stare, she looks radiant. Of course, that red lipstick is probably a small nod to her character. In 2015, she became involved with Guy Pearce and in 2016, they had a baby named Monte.

7 Jaqen H'ghar/Tom Wlaschiha

Jaqen H'ghar is one of the Faceless Men and he has been played by three different actors (since he, you know, changes his face a lot) but he is most notably played by Tom Wlashchiha. Though he first appeared as his character in season 2, he reprised his role in the fifth and sixth seasons. Without that long hair, Jaqen H'ghar is actually pretty attractive! Who knew? Besides Game of Thrones, he has also appeared in the German-French-Italian-American television series Crossing Lines and in Rush alongside Chris Hemsworth. An interesting fact about him is that he is a German voice actor and if you watch Game of Thrones in Germany, you may notice that he does his own voice dubbing for his character!

6 Tyene Sand/Rosabell Laurenti Sellers

Rosabell Laurenti Sellers may only be 21 years old but she has been acting since she was only eight. She appeared in the fifth season of Game of Thrones as one of the Sand Snakes, Tyene Sand. Tyene is the bastard daughter of Prince Oberyn Martell and Ellaria Sand and she's a pretty skilled warrior. Besides her Game of Thrones role, she also appeared in the The Whistleblower alongside Rachel Weisz and she voiced the titular character in the children's television show Mia and Me. Though her TV and film career is just beginning, she actually has a subreddit (a Reddit forum) dedicated to her with around 1,300 followers. Though she may not have lasted very long on the show, we're definitely going to be seeing more of her because not only is she beautiful but she's very talented and ambitious!

5 Quaithe/Laura Pradelska

Quaithe is a shadow binder with magical powers who hails from the Shadow Lands. Though she only appeared in two episodes of the Game of Thrones TV series, she plays a much bigger role in the books as she appears in A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, and A Dance with Dragons. Unfortunately, she was supposed to appear in more episodes but most of her scenes were cut. It is important to know, however, that she gives Jorah Mormont a prophecy concerning Daenarys which may come to pass in season 7. Though the prophecy is never mentioned in the HBO series, it does appear in the books and it has been analyzed for years. Though we never get to see the face of Quaithe, we do know that the actress who plays her is Laura Pradelska and she is very attractive!

4 Areo Hotah/DeObia Oparei

When he smiles, Debbie Oparei isn't as menacing as his Game of Thrones character, Areo Hotah. In fact, without that stern scowl on his face, you can barely tell that it's the same person in both photos! Areo Hotah is the captain of the Martell guard and the body guard to Prince Doran Martell, the brother of Oberyn Martell. Though he was not on the show for long, he definitely made an impression. His first film role was a big part in Alien 3 in 1992, he didn't appear in another film again until 2002 when he played Le Chocolat in Moulin Rouge! Since his success in Game of Thrones, he appeared in Independence Day: Resurgence and also played Loki Hayes on the popular Netflix series The Santa Clarita Diet. He is also set to star as Rongo in the Disney live-action remake of Dumbo that will be released in 2019.

3 Meera Reed/Ellie Kendrick

Over the years, Meera Reed has slowly become a fan favorite. Out of all of Bran Stark's band of misfits, Meera has been there all along beside him to help him with his own spiritual journey. However, though she has suffered for years, she has never been allowed the chance to be in the spotlight. Our thankless hero is played by English actress, Ellie Kendrick. While the character she plays is a young woman, Kendrick is actually 27 years old. Her first big role was as Anne Frank in the 2009 BBC miniseries, The Diary of Anne Frank. She also appeared as Helen in the British science fiction comedy-drama Misfits. Though she is often covered in dirt and grime like the rest of the Game of Thrones cast, Kendrick is a total babe with a great sense of style.

2 The Waif/Faye Marsay

The Waif may not be anyone's favorite character but she is, at least, an interesting one. She is just one of the many cruel characters in the Game of Thrones series and, in the end, she gets what she deserves. Though she has a cold disposition and a stony demeanor, the actress who plays her, Faye Marsay, is actually adorable. Though the Waif looks like a young girl, Marsay is 30 years old with a baby face and a short, bobbed haircut. Unfortunately for the actress, many fans could not differentiate her from her character. She said in an interview that she got so much hate on social media from disgruntled fans, that she quit social media all together. Besides her Game of Thrones role, she also appeared as Blue Colson in the Black Mirror episode "Hated in the Nation".

1 Ramsay Bolton/Iwan Rheon

This list would not be complete without Ramsay Bolton who may be one of the most downright twisted characters (which, in Game of Thrones, is saying something) but the actor who plays him is a different story. Iwan Rheon is a Welsh actor who happens to be very good at playing a sadistic and violent sociopath but he is actually a sensitive indie folk musician in real life. Luckily for us, we haven't seen the last of Rheon since he is set to star in the TV series, Inhumans which is set in the Marvel cinematic universe and it will premiere in September of this year. Like Sophie Turner and Finn Jones, Iwan Rheon is going to be a Marvel super hero. You can also catch him on the comedy series, Urban Myths, in which he plays Adolf Hitler. He seems to really enjoy playing evil characters.
