20 Wild Revelations About The Sprouse Twins

There are many reasons to love the Sprouse twins, but what about loving these two mid-twenties boys separately? Believe it or not, the Sprouse twins aren’t a package deal anymore. The two have grown and changed since their Disney days and have managed to become independent artists in their own right.

While the guys still love each other, they aren’t necessarily as inseparable as they used to be, as anyone who follows their social media feeds can see. This is for a variety of reasons, but we believe that the one reason that tops them all might be because of the way that their lives have gone.

While Seventeen reports that they both ended up going to NYU after finishing their time in the Disney limelight, that’s basically where the similarities end. They’ve each taken separate paths now, with Dylan and Cole pursuing some very different things. However, they’re still very open and actively supporting each other.

Which one do we love more? Now that’s a tough question. We’ve gone through and outlined ten reasons each as to why we love Cole and Dylan Sprouse separately, rather than just as a package deal. They’re independent people, after all, even if they did grow up playing the same characters!

20 Cole Runs A Social Media Account Called Camera Duels

Who knew that Cole was such a clever guy? Honestly, all of us could tell; that’s why we’re all fans of his, right? This particular brand of clever consists of calling out his fans when they try to take nonconsensual photos of him while he’s out and about. His answer to sneaky fan snaps was this social media account called Camera Duels.

Marie Claire quotes the bio of the account as saying, “to the people out there who secretly take photos of me, and how I take photos of them first. May the fastest camera win." Definitely read through the captions, as they’re hilarious (and only a little mean).

19 And He’s A Self-Declared Feminist And Outspoken Advocate

This should be a pre-requisite for any of our favorite celebrities, but it’s especially integral as to why we love Cole Sprouse so much. Not only is he self-declared, but he’s so eloquent when addressing the matter in interviews.

Marie Claire quotes him as saying, “I think the core of that question is do you support equality for women, and of course. It's funny that it even becomes a touchy or sensitive thing for people to announce formally, it's kind of [ludicrous]. There is not a question in my mind.” It’s one thing to hold those beliefs, but his outspokenness is the real thing we love here.

18 Dylan Has Worked A Barista Job Or Two

One thing that we don’t necessarily love about ex-Disney stars is the fact that their teenagehood was spent on TV and film sets. They never really had to work day jobs, unless they really wanted to. This means that the quintessential barista, stock person, and burger flipper experiences are often missed.

Believe it or not, Dylan decided that it was high time to try them. Vulture explains that he actually has picked up a regular old day job here and there in order to experience it. We love that, and think that it shows a lot of character in Dylan. No doubt it was also good research for that meadery he’s opening!

17 Cole's Good Looks Won Him A Teen Choice Award

Cole Sprouse might be in his 20s, but that doesn’t stop the Teen Choice Awards from including him on their awards nominee lists, especially ever since he’s gotten back into acting. And in 2018, the Teen Choice Awards honored him with something very, very exciting.

Seventeen mentions that the award itself was one that’s highly coveted, even if it’s not exactly the most prestigious award. What exactly was the pick? Well, let's just say it was for Cole's good looks. As if there was any debate over who was going to win that one! It might not be an Oscar, but at least there are some bragging rights attached to it.

16 But Seeing Him Every Week On Riverdale Is Another Great Reason

Okay, outside of the obvious fact that he’s TCA’s top hunk, one of the reasons we might love Cole a little more than Dylan is the fact that we still see him on TV every week. Those of us who are young enough to have grown up watching the twins on Suite Life no doubt feel an awesome amount of nostalgia seeing his face on our TVs again.

While he’s certainly playing a broodier character than Zack and Cody ever called for, Cole’s truly proved that he’s got the acting talent to carry the role. We’re reminded every week of our love for him, and that’s an excellent thing.

15 Cole And Lili’s Relationship Is Total #CoupleGoals

Seriously, just look at any of their pictures together. Both of them have gone on various records expressing their love for each other, as well as the mutual respect they have for each other. While all that lovey-dovey stuff is well and good, we’re more invested in the fact that they’re in love on the screen and off the screen.

It’s a total mind-bender, and most of us didn’t believe it when the rumors started flying around. However, time has proven that they’re total couple goals, rather than just another set of co-starring cuddlers. This relationship is just the real deal.

14 Cole’s Got A Tendency To Use His Head Rather Than His Heart

There’s something we love about a guy that isn’t afraid to use his head. From everything we’ve read about him so far, it seems like Cole is the kind of guy to really sit and think about something before making a decision. His photography is all very well composed, and his Jughead character is very cerebral and is always thinking.

We’re pleased that this translates into his personal life too, with his beliefs on feminism and his thoughts on child stardom fade-outs being so rational and mature. While he’s definitely passionate, we appreciate his intellect just as much (and maybe even more).

13 Dylan Is Rocking The Indie Film Circuits

Yes, it’s not just Cole who’s jumped back into acting. While Dylan did indeed get a video game design degree (a department whose demand is huge, what with the popularity of video games right now!), Dylan has been pursuing more indie film circuit stuff.

It sounds like he’s embracing it as an opportunity to find his edge, too. He told Vulture, “I tend to enjoy roles that I very closely identify with: fringe people and complicated characters, who might even be bad guys, or bad characters that have one redeeming quality. That’s closer to my idea of what my acting trajectory should be.”

12 And He’s A Big Fan Of Brotherly Love

We’ll admit it: we don’t know which one of them is doing the hugging in this photo. However, that doesn’t change the fact that Dylan is a big fan of brotherly love, and has nothing but respect and appreciation for his twin, Cole.

In the same interview with Vulture Dylan says, on the topic of twin competition and comparison, “our primary role as each other’s, you know, not only twin, but biggest supporter, is to dispel that with each other. Right? Through conversation, and through, just, love.” Aww! We love a family guy, and the fact that these two are close despite the distance and difference in their lives is another reason to love them.

11 Cole Was Born In Italy (To Be Fair, Dylan Was Too)

One of the biggest reasons that we love them (and we will say them, since Cole and Dylan are kind of a package deal for this point) is the fact that their past is full of surprises. Cole and Dylan were both born in Italy, even though it’s something that they don’t talk about much.

Seventeen says that their parents “were teaching English in Tuscany. Four months after Cole and Dylan were born, the family moved to Long Beach,” where they settled down. Not for long, though, as their super stardom would eventually offer travel opportunities aplenty! Need we mention the Suite Life On Deck?

10 Dylan’s A Dungeons & Dragons Geek

Hands up if you know this one. We certainly didn’t! Dylan is a legit nerd, in the best way possible. On top of his video game love and passion for mythology, he’s also a Dungeons & Dragons fan. According to both Vulture and his Twitter account, he even runs D&D campaigns on Twitch/YouTube!

Not to mention the fact that he’s “developing an animated fantasy-series project of his own, set in ninth-century Scandinavia.” If that’s not a niche interest, we don’t know what is. In all seriousness, though, we really appreciate a star this big being able to embrace his geeky side.

9 We Love Them Both For Their Sense Of Humor

One thing that kept popping up was the fact that both of them have great senses of humor. Seventeen goes into great detail about the fact that these two twins are always “trolling” each other on social media, often leaving comments or photos that make the other one look a little silly.

Sometimes it gets a little mean, but the two of them are always reassuring us that it comes from a place of love. This kind of compassion makes that sharp wit bearable and makes us want to be on the receiving end of some of that humor. If only, right?

8 His Thoughts On Education Are Spot On

Seventeen quotes him as saying, “part of the reason I went to college was that I wanted to fade out peacefully, show everybody I had gone through something that was quite challenging and difficult, but did so with grace and poise and got an education." And that’s really, really admirable.

Too often, Disney stars ride the wave of fame into something very intense and a little heart-wrenching. Miley Cyrus took a very steep dive off of the Disney cliff in order to remove herself from it. Cole’s level-headed approach to fading out of that Disney-kid stardom style is very respectable.

7 And Cole’s Photography Is Absolutely Breathtaking

Read any interview with Cole and he’s probably going to mention his photography. His social media accounts are full of photos that he’s taken, both casually and with his very impressive camera. Marie Claire even mentions that he’s had his work published in a variety of magazines!

Well, when the photos are this beautifully composed and feature models like Kendall Jenner and Lili Reinhart, it’s no surprise that he’s going to find success with his photography. We fully recommend checking out his social media if you haven’t gotten a chance to yet. It’s definitely a reason to love him even more!

6 Dylan, However, Runs a Meadery

Surprise, surprise: it’s not just Cole who’s found success in art forms other than acting! Dylan, the other half of the Sprouse twins, has also received accolades for his artistic endeavor of choice. While both the boys have continued acting (Cole more so than Dylan, of course) Dylan’s found another passion in brewing.

In an interview Dylan did with Vulture, he reveals that the All-Wise Meadery is a passion project that he’s pursuing right to the end. He loves brewing, and he’s very excited to open up this Brooklyn meadery. Honestly, we’re excited to try it. Mead is a drink that we don’t have much experience with, but we think it could be delicious!

5 AND He’s Not Afraid To Show Off His Nerdy, Animal Crossing Loving Side

Believe it or not, Dylan Sprouse has turned into the nerdier of the two of them. We’re not saying that that’s a bad thing, but it’s certainly a surprise! Those of us who have a nerdy side are no doubt swooning over him even more, especially after learning that he’s a fan of Animal Crossing, just like we were.

His Twitter account reveals his love for all things video games, most recently mentioning how eager he is to play the new Animal Crossing game. This kind of adorable nerdiness really makes him feel like a regular person, rather than an ex-Disney superstar.

4 In Fact, Dylan Has A Degree In Video Game Design

Cole and Dylan both went to NYU, but their tracks there were very different. Dylan ended up getting a degree in Video Game Design, according to Vulture. Could this be where his love of games comes from? Or did his love of games spark this adventure in post-secondary education? While we can’t say for sure, we feel it’s probably a little of both.

We don’t know if he’s designed many (or any) games, but we’re sure that it’s given him a wide breadth of knowledge and understanding for anything he wants to pursue next. Not to mention given him tons of nerd cred.

3 Dylan Is Also A World Traveller, And Even Tried Learning Mandarin

Seriously! While Vulture talks about the fact that Dylan has been dabbling in the indie film circuit (which we’ll talk about more later), we went straight to the heart of Dylan Sprouse information for this fact. We’re talking about his Twitter.

Dylan’s social media is active, and one of the more recent posts he made talked about the fact that he had spent several months in China filming a movie. While there he even “tried learning Mandarin,” though he didn’t divulge how successful he was. Hey, Mandarin is difficult, and the fact that he tried is respectable and awesome to know!

2 And Has Also Been Called A Party Boy!

Believe it or not, Cole Sprouse is not the twin who’s into partying. While we can’t say for sure that Cole keeps his social life low key, we can say that Vulture expressed just how much of a reputation Dylan has.

Maybe it’s his relationships, or maybe it’s his New York location that gives him the ability to go out and get wild. Whatever it is, Vulture called Dylan an up-and-coming party boy, and we’re totally here for it. Maybe he’ll even invite us to party with him the next time he’s going out! Or is that too much to wish for?

1 And For That Sweet Suite Life Nostalgia

At the end of the day, the biggest reason why we love Cole and Dylan Sprouse is the fact that they’re the epitome of Disney-days nostalgia. While Miley Cyrus fully shed her image, Cole and Dylan will always be those two blonde kids in our mind.

We love the fact that they’ve grown up to forge their own identities, but Zack and Cody will inevitably tag along. After all, growing up in the Disney limelight isn’t always easy to step away from. These two have proven that it is possible. We’re waiting for that university-era Suite Life spin off though. It would be like Animal House, but with way more twin antics.
