There really is nothing better in life than a really close friendship. Growing up, it was close friends whom people would seek out for solace during some pretty dark adolescent times. They were an escape of sorts.

Some people say that when they grow up, it’s harder to make friends than when they were a little kid on the playground looking for a kickball partner. But these guys prove that isn’t the case. They also prove that sometimes, opposites attract.

Living in the era of the much beloved “Bromance,” where two men have no issue celebrating their bro love for their best friend, fans see it all the time in Hollywood. Just take the film Ocean’s Eleven: All that film basically was George Clooney getting with a bunch of his guy buddies in order to laugh with them and prank them on the set while getting paid millions of dollars in order to do so.

And the result was amazing. He proved that even if a guy and his friend don’t share the same interests and seem to be completely different from one another, they can still be close.

Here are some of the best (and oddest) bromances going on in Hollywood right now.

20 Pure Comedy Magic - Justin Timberlake And Andy Samberg

They met when the former *NSync group boy Justin Timberlake hosted Saturday Night Live back in 2006. Creator Lorne Michaels had then cast member Andy Samberg write a production skit that was able to highlight Timberlake’s soulful voice and the end product was pure comedy heaven (we’ll just say, it’s a really catchy and funny Christmas song that you can’t watch without laughing hysterically).

From there on out, anything that involved the both Justin and Andy sharing screen time is pure magic.

Of course, they would do more music videos in the future and while they too were funny, nothing beats that first video together.

19 Blue Steel Of Mind - Owen Wilson And Ben Stiller

Yes, in case you didn’t know, the “Frat Pack” is an actual Hollywood group (a play on the name “Rat Pack” who was famously led by Frank Sinatra) and it features comedians and actors Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Jack Black. All have starred in multiple movies together but the two who stand out the most in regards to their bromance are Stiller and Owen. Years before they even started making movies together, Ben wrote a letter to Owen which gushed over his acting skills in the movie Bottle Rocket. If that’s not friendship, I don’t know what is.

18 Political Bliss - Stephen Colbert And Jon Stewart

When fans of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart used to watch the show way back in the day when Stephen Colbert was a mere reoccurring correspondent, no one could imagine the legend that would eventually become their long-lasting friendship.

A lot of correspondents who have actually starred on The Daily Show have launched completely successful professions, the two most famous being Stephen and Steve Carrell, who left to go do movies and The Office.

Stephen, of course, went off to star in his own late night show and was eventually hired to take over for David Letterman as the host of The Late Show. Jon will pop up from time to time on the show in order to make audiences laugh their tails off when the duo go toe to toe with each other.

17 Scrubs No Longer - Zach Braff And Donald Faison

At the time the medical comedy sitcom Scrubs began its run, the most famous out of the cast was most likely Donald Faison (who starred in the hit teen comedy film Clueless), Sarah Chalke, and John C. McGinley. But after the show wrapped, it was lead character Zach Braff and his bromance with Donald that took center stage. On the show, both their characters (Braff’s silly J.D. and Donald’s wisecracking Turk) were as close as any two guys can be and the deep bond translated to beyond the camera. Both are extremely secure in their own masculinity to where they don’t need to answer for their undying bromance love with each other.

16 Of Freaks And Geeks Fame - Seth Rogen And James Franco

This bromance started years ago when a brilliant comedy by the name of Freaks and Geeks started filming and has only blossomed over the years. Tragically, the show was canceled (but has an amazing cult following).

But two cast members, Seth Rogen and James Franco, went on to star in other films together, which only solidified their intense friendship.

They became extremely close when they shot Pineapple Express and multiple other films (including This is the End, The Interview, and the Oscar-nominated movie The Disaster Artist) and when James was honored by IndieWire, he shared an amazing story about him and Seth and their bromance together.

15 Boston Buddies - Matt Damon And Ben Affleck

They have probably the most famous bromance in the history of Hollywood (you know, other than Frank Sinatra and his buddies). The bromance of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck started when they were kids just kicking it up in Boston together. Both dreamed of being actors and would often support the other when they would get meager roles in large films. Finally, after having enough of not getting offers, they wrote a movie themselves so they both could star in it. As we all know, that movie, Good Will Hunting, went to win an Oscar for the two of them for best screenplay. During their excited speech, the world was able to see how delightful and enduring their bromance actually is.

14 Little Brother Program - Matt Damon And George Clooney

While this particular bromance isn’t as long as Damon and Affleck’s is, it’s still pretty significant. Both Matt and George Clooney met on the set of Ocean’s Eleven when Clooney would typically prank Matt on a daily basis (much like his character did in the movie itself).

They took their friendship up a notch in the later years when they would start hanging out together and would ask each other for opinions on different movie roles they were taking.

They would also openly roast each other on different media outlets, all out of good-natured friendship, of course, which is something we can all admire.

13 It's All Family Politics - Chris Pratt And Patrick Schwarzenegger

It’s been a while since we were horrified by the news that one of Hollywood’s most beloved comedy couples was terminating their marriage: Chris Pratt and Anna Faris. But recently, Pratt has decided to disclose his new relationship with Katherine Schwarzenegger (daughter of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger) on IG and the world is loving it (they seriously look adorable together). Because of that newfound love, Pratt also has a new bromance going with Katherine’s brother Patrick. They were spotting at a Los Angeles Clippers game just laughing it up and bonding. We look forward to hopefully see their bromance blossom over the years.

12 Too Much Handsome - George Clooney And Brad Pitt

Out of all the bromances to come out of Oceans Eleven, this one was the defining bromance. George Clooney and Brad Pitt really didn’t have to stretch their acting chops when roasting each other while on camera because they were already so used to doing it in real life.

In fact, Clooney and the boys had so much fun during shooting, that it’s one of the reasons why they made as many sequels as they did.

Their bromance became hugely famous and their arguments on who is better looking out of the two became a side-slapping comedy. They’re still two of our favorite famous, bickering bromances.

11 Perfect Hair Off - Tobey Maguire And Leonardo DiCaprio

If you didn’t already know, these handsome faces go waaayy back. Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio actually go back 30 years when they both were trying to break into Hollywood as starry-eyed kids. There’s even a rumor going around that DiCaprio is the godfather of Tobey’s daughter. They ended up working together (again) in the remake of the classic The Great Gatsby after Leo (who was already offered the part of the title character, Jay Gatsby) asked Tobey if he wanted to play Gatsby’s friend Nick Carraway. Of course, we all know the rest of the story since Tobey obviously signed on to play onscreen besties with his real-life bestie.

10 A Magic Pair Off - Channing Tatum And Jonah Hill

The Jonah Hill/Channing Tatum bromance has to be one of our favorites in recent history. Not just because both are crazy funny together (or that Magic Mike is really easy on the eyes) but because they tend to really make movies ONLY together (not really, but it sure seems like it).

It all started when they decided to make the remake of the TV show 21 Jump Street together and the world went nuts.

They then followed it up with This is the End, The Lego Movie, 22 Jump Street, and Hail Caesar! But some of their best appearances together have been when presenting awards. Their comedy will never get old.

9 The Odd Couple - Usher And Justin Bieber

When we first saw Justin Bieber, he was simply a kid on YouTube. That is, until Usher came along and happened to notice the young singer. “I heard about Justin through the grapevine,” Usher said while on The Howard Stern Show “because people were talking about him and I said to him ‘Why don’t you set up a meeting between me and your manager, I’d love to meet with you and do this in a formal setting.” The reason is history and shortly, Usher became Justin’s mentor and close friend. Both have been known to talk each other up all the time and it’s clear there’s a genuine bond between the two despite the age difference. We can all use a mentor like Usher in our lives.

8 Comedy Gold - Paul Rudd And Jason Segel

They both crack us up whenever they share a screen together. Both Paul Rudd and Jason Segel have been making movies together for over a decade and you can almost feel their comfort on screen while watching them.

While they even made fun of their own bromance with the comedy I Love You, Man, probably my favorite movie of theirs has to be Forgetting Sarah Marshall where Paul had a minor role as a surf instructor that Jason’s character hires in Hawaii.

You can easily tell that the two kept cracking each other up during filming and at times you think that Segel is about to break character.

7 And The Next People's Best Looking Man Is...- Bradley Cooper And Gerard Butler

Oh man, it’s like a “best-looking bros face-off” is about to commence with these two actors: Bradley Cooper and Gerald Butler. A few years back, both actors were spotted at Wimbledon wearing almost the same exact suit and were all smiles when they took a selfie together. Of course, this blew up Twitter with people wondering about their now famous bromance. “Bradley and I are friends. [The matching outfits] was coincidence. It was a little embarrassing. We didn’t mention it at the time,” Gerald said of the incident before saying that they didn’t even notice until they hugged and then looked down at both their attire.

6 Hip-Hop Empire Help - Jay Z And Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber has no shortage of mentors in his life, which is an amazing problem (well, not so much a problem if you’re him) to have.

Justin has always liked to compare himself to the likes of famous rapper Jay Z and says that he is the reason he doesn’t read any negative things said about him on social media.

“I don’t need to address every speculation,” Justin once said. “Jay-Z didn’t even respond. Why didn’t he respond? Because he’s Jay-Z.” Now, that’s a far leap from thinking you’re good to actually comparing yourself to a legend like Jay-Z, but the music mogul didn’t appear angry at the quote and most likely even respected the young singer for saying it.

5 Way Too Much Cuteness - Zayn Malik And Louis Tomlinson

Well, sometimes people tend to drift apart, but for a shining time, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson were inseparable besties. After some beef back in 2015 which caused Malik to quit One Direction, people assumed that the amazing bromance between the two was over and done with. “Yeah, we spoke about that, we’re in touch, everything is on a civil level,” Malik said to Us Weekly. “It’s not the way it used to be, obviously we were a lot closer because we were together the entire time, spending 24 hours a day in the band and now we’re not, so we’re living our own lives, and we’re all growing as individual men and we still keep in touch and check in with each other not as much as we used too.”

4 Attractiveness Is No Laughing Matter - Jonah Hill And Leonardo DiCaprio

Jonah Hill sure loves hanging out with attractive men (not that he’s not one himself). Both Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio starred in The Wolf of Wallstreet and have remained close ever since (even during Saturday Night Live appearances).

One time, the paparazzi even caught Leo running up pretending to be a crazed fan to Jonah on the street, which spooked the living daylights out of him.

It appears that the two do everything together since filming the movie and even talk ever so sweetly about each other when they make the late night talk show rounds. It’s simply adorable and everyone knows it.

3 A Bromance For The Ages - Michael B. Jordan And Zac Efron

You can never have TOO much attractiveness in one friendship. Just ask actors Michael B. Jordan and Zac Efron who both starred in the film That Awkward Moment. Their bromance went on past the filming of the movie–heck, Efron was even Jordan’s plus-one to a Vanity Fair event. Co-star in the movie Miles Teller even jokes about Efron and Jordan’s bond. “Before the movie, they were on this snow log cabin trip with the director. I couldn’t make it so I came in and they had already buddied up, they’d gone on this crazy cool trip in the mountains – I saw the photos.” Even Jordan commented on that being wild with Efron. “This is my brother right there. We went through the trenches together.”

2 True Detective, Season Love - Woody Harrelson And Matthew McConaughey

This famous duo has been besties for years and all of Hollywood knows it. The friendship between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson happened long before the two starred in the critically acclaimed first season of True Detective together.

If you look down their long resumes, you’ll take note that the two also starred in EDtv and Surfer Dude (two very forgettable movies) together.

But they both knew this time around, it would be way different working together. “This was something different,” Matthew said. “This is the first time we worked together where there’s real opposition. This was not about us coming together.” The intensity of the series was delivered well thanks to their bromance, though.

1 That's One Full House - John Stamos, Dave Coulier, And Bob Saget

You just KNEW that these three had to make a list of famous bromances. Bob Saget, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier all starred in the popular family sitcom Full House (and its Netflix reboot Fuller House) and children everywhere knew them as Danny Tanner, Uncle Jesse, and Uncle Joey. That is until we grew up and realized that not only was their bromance lifelong, but it wasn’t always as wholesome as it was projected on the show. Their friendship is filled with adult humor complete with off-color jokes and a bond that can’t be altered. Which, we have to admit, is frankly the best sort of friendship.
