Hailey and Justin Bieber knew they were right for each other, and because they were so certain they didn’t wait before heading to a courthouse to get married, just three months after rekindling their relationship. To many, this seemed rushed, but to put it in context, the celebs have known each other for a decade, and they firmly believe that if they’ve found someone who makes them happy, well, then why wait? The only thing they do seem to be waiting for is the right time to have a wedding.

The couple may be legally married, but they still want to have a wedding to celebrate their love, surrounded by their nearest and dearest (although considering their large social circles, it may be difficult to cut down their numbers to just a handful of close friends and family). Their celebration has been postponed several times, despite them initially sending out save the dates, and although it seems like there is still a lot of planning that needs to be done, Hailey and Justin have made some progress — she’s got a designer and the color picked out for her wedding dress.

Luckily, they have a wedding planner to help them out. Below are 20 things we know about Hailey and Justin’s upcoming wedding.

20 Hailey Already Knows Which Designer She Wants To Wear For Her Big Day

Hailey Bieber has tried on many outfits during her lifetime (after all, she is a model), but her wedding dress will be the most important garment she ever wears. Hailey wants to keep the details of her dress on the down-low, but in an interview with The Cut she noted that although she didn’t have a design, she did have a designer in mind.

Cosmopolitan notes that there is a good chance this designer could be her close friend, and Louis Vuitton menswear designer, Virgil Abloh. We also know that it won’t be a classic shade of white that Hailey wears. "I can't say much, but I can say it's kinda like an off-white color," she told Vogue.

19 Her Sister Is Going To Be Her Bridesmaid (She Was Hers In 2017)

Hailey Bieber has acknowledged that some people think she's getting married too young, but age is just a number. Plus, it helps to know that her sister and her parents found the people they wanted to end up with at a young age, too.

“My sister was 24 when she got married, and my parents also got married when they were young... I see no reason to wait. When you know it’s right, it’s right,” she told The Cut. In the same interview, she also shared that her sister, Alaia Baldwin, will be her bridesmaid — an honor she had at her wedding in 2017.

18 And Her Cousin Ireland Will Also Play A Special Part In The Wedding

Hailey Bieber has an impressive girl squad she surrounds herself with, and one of her nearest and dearest is also related to her; her cousin, Ireland Baldwin.

Ireland will also be playing a special part in Hailey and Justin Bieber’s wedding, and Hailey’s aunt, Kim Basinger, was the one to share this information. "Oh, it’ll be fun," Basinger told Us Weekly of Hailey and Justin’s wedding. "Alaia and Ireland, they’re in the wedding. So believe me, I just — it’s cool! I think it’s sweet. It’s a very sweet thing. Happiness...We’re living in some really dire times right now."

17 The Location Is Still Unconfirmed, But Insiders Think The Wedding Will Happen In Justin’s Home Country

The wedding destination has not yet been confirmed by Hailey or Justin Bieber, but there is talk of it being in Canada, Justin’s home country.

"The couple has discussed where they would have their wedding, in either Canada or somewhere in the States (NY or LA)," an insider told Entertainment Tonight. "They've thrown around the idea of having it in possibly both, but it's still the early stages of planning."

Although two weddings may be an option for this couple, another insider has shared with Us Weekly that Canada is a special location for Bieber, and "he’d love to get married there."

16 But There’s Also Talk Of It Being A Destination Celebration

Justin Bieber is said to find his home country a very special place and would love to have his wedding celebrations there. But despite the talk of Justin and Hailey’s wedding being in either Canada or the United States, there has also been a report of a destination celebration.

"Justin and Hailey both love tropical destinations. They are currently looking into options for a tropical wedding," an insider told People. "Hailey is working closely with their planner and figuring everything out. She is very excited to plan her wedding."

The couple did get engaged during a romantic Bahamas trip, so perhaps they will want to return to the place where their journey into marriage first started.

15 Hailey Has A Wedding Planner To Help Her Find The Best Spot (Which Could Be In The Woods)

Planning a wedding can be an exciting, but also particularly stressful, experience. There is so much to remember to do, so many vendors to deal with, and so many aspects that could go wrong. Not everyone can afford to hire a wedding planner to take over the stress of the day and ensure that everything runs smoothly, but Hailey Bieber can, and she did.

In her interview with The Cut, the publication noted that she had hired “an amazing wedding planner,” who was helping her scout locations, which the publication noted were preferably on the West Coast. But Hailey also let it be known that a woodland celebration is something she’s thinking of. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful,” she admitted.

14 The Couple Have Sent Out Their Save The Dates Already

The couple got engaged in July of 2018, and it was reported they had married in court in September. They did eventually confirm they were married, with Hailey even changing her last name on social media, from Baldwin to Bieber, in November of 2018, Page Six reports.

Although there is no confirmation of the exact date that Hailey and Justin Bieber are expected to get married, they have started planning their wedding. They also got so far as to send out save the dates to their family and friends, and according to Page Six, an insider told them that the date was for Feb. 28, 2019.

13 But Their Wedding Date Has Come And Gone

Despite initially settling on a date (which has since come and gone), and going to the trouble of sending out save the dates, it seems that Hailey and Justin Bieber are no closer to heading down the aisle. They made the decision to postpone their wedding, and despite not getting married in February of 2019, there are reports that they want to celebrate their wedding sooner, rather than later.

“They’ve been figuring out the perfect time to do it, and they both feel like the sooner, the better,” an insider close to Justin Bieber told People, adding, “They’re still figuring it out.”

12 Justin Is Taking Time To Focus On His Health Ahead Of Their Big Day

One of the reasons why the wedding has been postponed could be because Justin Bieber wants to focus on himself.

“Justin is still receiving treatment on both coasts, but is doing okay,” an insider told People. “He is very, very focused on getting better. He wants to be in a great place for his own and Hailey’s sake. He is still confident that he will get there.” The insider also noted that Hailey was not putting any pressure on Justin.

The singer told fans he was taking a break from music to focus on himself. "I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep-rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don’t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be," he wrote on social media.

11 Hailey Says It’s Been Strange Changing Her Name Following Their Court Marriage

The most visible change to Hailey and Justin Bieber’s relationship is Hailey’s name change, which was initially strange for her. "It took some getting used to, for sure. It's definitely strange, it takes adjusting," she said, as Bustle reports.

But the couple’s relationship also happened pretty quickly, and this is something Hailey acknowledged in an interview with Beats1 Radio show (via USA Today). "It's definitely [weird] to be this young and be married," she said. "But it's also the person that I've literally been in love with for so many years."

10 It’s Gonna Be A Great Party, With DJ Tay James In Control Of The Music

When the wedding does happen (whenever that may be), guests can expect to be entertained. Considering that Justin Bieber is a world-famous musician, the music aspect of the wedding is something that would be important to him, and although there is no confirmation on whether the couple will have a band during their ceremony, there will be a DJ.

According to a Page Six insider, “The wedding party is already being styled and the dancers for the celebration are already in rehearsals.” And as far as the music is concerned? “Tay James, Bieber’s personal DJ, will be providing tunes,” the publication reports.

9 It Will Be A Star-Studded Guest List, Including Kylie Jenner And Travis Scott...

No one knows for sure why the initial wedding date, which was believed to be on Feb. 28, 2019, was changed, but according to TMZ this was because some of the wedding guests were unable to make the celebration on this day.

“We're told the Biebers got some regrets back from certain loved ones who couldn't make it to Los Angeles for the weekend of Justin's birthday at the beginning of March, as was originally planned, so it's back to the drawing board,” the publication notes.

There was also information shared on who the wedding guests will include, and Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, as well as Drake, Chris Brown, and Odell Beckham Jr., are among those invited.

8 ...But It Will Also Not Be Over-The-Top, And The Guest List Will Be Kept Small

Hailey and Justin Bieber definitely have the financial means to throw a really lavish wedding, but all signs suggest that they would prefer this event to be a small one, with only their nearest and dearest in attendance (it may be hard to keep it small though because they both have large social circles).

“[They are] discussing having a very small wedding,” an insider told Us Weekly, adding that the couple wanted something private. And an insider has also shared with Entertainment Tonight that "Justin and Hailey have been telling friends they want to have a smaller wedding, with close family and friends, nothing too over the top."

7 Hailey Has Mentioned That 2019 Will Be The Year To Celebrate With Their Family And Friends

There are various reports on the date of Justin and Hailey Bieber’s wedding, but in an interview with The Cut Hailey did mention that 2019 would be the year of the wedding. The initial wedding date has been changed several times, but it seems the couple has their heart set on celebrating with family and friends this year.

Despite the delay, Hailey and Justin appear to be very much in love, although they have found marriage is not easy. “The thing is, marriage is very hard,” Hailey said in an interview with Vogue. But in the same interview, the journalist noted how they sat side-by-side and were particularly affectionate with each other.

6 But They Really Aren’t In A Rush For The Wedding (After All, They’re Already Married)

Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey may have initially wanted to get their save the dates out, but now, after postponing their wedding, it seems they are not in a rush to make a new plan — and why should they be, considering they are already married?

“They’re working with the schedules of all their friends and family to make sure they can be surrounded by the people they love,” an insider told People. “There’s no real rush. They’re already legally married, but they’re very excited about throwing a celebration with their loved ones.”

Although their wedding will be an exciting time, and a chance to display their love, it also needs to feel right for the couple.

5 It’s Been Delayed Three Times Now

No one really wants to postpone their wedding, and in Hailey and Justin Bieber’s case, it’s been delayed three times now, according to Elle (they initially wanted it in January, then at the end of February). An insider told People, “It seems it will happen in April, or May instead.”

There is the possibility that the wedding is right around the corner now, but TMZ notes that although the couple was initially scrambling for another date, they then realized there was no rush. Insiders told the publication, “the wedding will not be anytime soon... they want to properly plan it this time with plenty of warning for guests.”

The idea of planning properly was echoed by People, who reported that an insider told them, “they both want their wedding to be perfect.”

4 There Could Be A Really Big Party To Celebrate, Before Their Actual Wedding

It's possible Hailey and Justin Bieber could have a larger celebration since they do know a lot of people who would probably be hurt if they were not invited. But there have also been reports that they would prefer to keep their celebration small, with only their nearest and dearest to witness their love. With this in mind, it makes sense that there may be two parties, a big one beforehand, and then the actual wedding.

“They’re going to have a big blowout,” an insider told People (via This Is Insider), not long after it was confirmed that Hailey and Justin had married in a courthouse.

3 Hillsong Church Pastor Carl Lentz Is Believed To Be The Man Who Will Officiate

Hailey and Justin Bieber both attend Hillsong church services. They have been pictured multiple times in attendance, and it has served as a foundation for their relationship. Vogue notes that when they first became friends, it was after they met up at a New York service at the Irving Plaza.

Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz has helped Justin through some particularly difficult points in his life. Keeping this in mind, it would make sense that they would ask Lentz to officiate their ceremony. Another article on Vogue comments on how it’s thought “Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz could be in line to officiate.”

2 Their Flower Girl Could Be Justin Bieber’s Sister (Although She’s Older Than The Typical Flower Girl)

Hailey mentioned in an interview with The Cut that they were thinking of asking Justin’s sister Jazmyn to be the flower girl. She said, “Maybe Justin’s little sister as a flower girl. Is 10 too old?”

To some people, the fact that Hailey and Justin Bieber are married already, after such a brief relationship, is confusing (although to put it in context, they have known each other for more than a decade). But there is no denying that these two are happy together, and Justin has told Vogue that his wife has a calming presence in his life.

“I need one thing that’s certain. And that is my baby boo,” he said.

1 Hailey Herself Hasn't Done Much Wedding Planning

In an interview with The Cut, Hailey Bieber shed light on her wedding plans, and confirmed she had a wedding planner helping her out. But she also told Vogue that they hadn’t done too much planning, at least, not at the time of her interview.

When asked by Vogue (via E! News) how much time she spends planning their wedding, Hailey responded by saying, "Not a lot, which reminds me that I should probably get on top of it."

Of course, they also want to see how Justin does before going ahead. “They will still have a wedding eventually, but this is not their focus right now,” an insider told People. “They haven’t sent out any new save the dates. They will wait until Justin feels better and is excited about planning their wedding again.”
