The Kardashian family is among the busiest and most successful families in the world. With a long-running reality T.V. show plus several spinoff series, as well as a clothing brand, several makeup companies, a number of books and even a sock line, the careers of the family members have gone in a number of different directions throughout the years. One constant, however, is Kris Jenner's "momager" role. Kris coaches her family through it all with a manager's eye and a mother's love, and all she asks for in return is 10%.

While her family may be incredibly successful, that doesn't mean in any way that Kris's job is easy. Kris has finessed her way to immense wealth and success for her family while also keeping them together as they navigate the world of fame and fortune. Her six children have all experienced ups and downs both personally and professionally, and Kris has had to be there through it all. While a manager can quit or be fired, a Momager is forever. Read on to learn about 20 real problems that Kris Jenner encounters in her role as Mother and Manager of one of the most famous families in the world.

20 Having To Keep "Mom" And "Manager" Separate

Although the Kardashians are one of the largest forces in pop culture today, it's important to remember that they came from relative anonymity. Kris and her children had to build their presence and fame, just like anyone else not born to fame. While it may seem like the Kardashians simply exploded onto the scene one day, their fame is the result of years of hard work and their journey to the limelight has had many low points.

When Kim’s tape was leaked, as her mother Kris “wanted to kill her.” “But as her manager... I knew that I had a job to do," according to confession footage from KUWTK. As we all know, the name of the game in Hollywood is getting publicity, and, as many people say, “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.”

While Kim’s tape leaking was definitely embarrassing for her, many people point to it as the thing that catapulted her into the mainstream media. Of course, as a mother, Kris was stressed and worried to see her daughter’s image plastered all over the internet.

However, as a businesswoman who was overseeing Kim’s career, she had to step back and realize the good that came with the bad.

Some mothers may have lost it right there, but Kris is tough as nails. If she could keep her personal and professional opinions separated in that situation, Kris can keep her cool any time.

19  Finding Out Her Daughters' Secrets From The Internet

One usually forgotten tidbit of Kim's history is her very first marriage when she was only nineteen years old. The marriage was rather short-lived. Kim married Damon Thomas, a music producer, in 2000. The couple had eloped to Los Vegas without telling any of Kim's family, and the then-teenaged Kim's life quickly took a turn for the worst. Thomas made Kim quit her sales job and cut off contact with her friends and family. He seemed to be a little controlling and had some opinions on quite a bit of Kim's personal life.

While Kim was living this, for a time, her family had no idea. In fact, Kris did not even know where Kim was living, as she had moved out of her father's house and would not disclose her new location for months. The family only found out that Kim and Thomas had married because her concerned sisters did an internet search. When they searched Kim's name they found the wedding certificate, and that was how Kris learned about her teen daughter's wedding. Unfortunately, the relationship continued for years before Kris got her daughter back safely, according to Kris's memoir.

18 Keeping Up With The Girls' Nights Out

While Kris is known for working incredibly hard, it’s also known that she likes to be a “Fun Mom.” She always wants to spend time with her daughters and be a part of their fun times.

Kris can hold her own on a night out, but her daughters sometimes can get a little wild, and it’s not always easy for the Kardashian matriarch to keep up.

She can end up doing things a little out of her comfort zone, like that time on Kourtney & Kim Take New York when she did a kegstand. Although the now 62-year old took it in stride, she definitely is lucky that her daughters have since slowed down with the nightlife.

Kim used to constantly be hosting club events and acting as the spokeswoman for different drink companies, but has since slowed down, once even telling People that she "doesn't drink at all." And, according to Khloe in a Us Weekly interview, Kourtney barely drinks as well since having kids. Funnily enough, after all of those years of chasing around wild daughters, according to Khloe, she's now the life of the parties. "My mom has a drink every night with dinner. That's her thing, and that's what she loves to do," Khloé continued. Kris herself, described her own preferred drinking habits: "I like to have a glass of wine at 6. What 60-year-old woman wouldn't?"

17 Having To Play Relationship Coach

While most mothers are interested in their children’s love lives, few need to be involved on the level that Kris Jenner is. Relationships take on a whole additional layer of difficulty when constantly under public scrutiny. Mama Jenner has coached the girls through countless heartbreaks and infatuations, and she knows a thing or two about relationships, having been married twice herself. Most recently, Kris is dealing with 34-year old Scott Disick, the father of three of her grandchildren, dating 19-year old Sofia Richie, as well as the very public realization that Khloe's partner Tristan Thompson was seeing other women throughout the pregnancy.

These are just the most recent dramas and the tip of the iceberg of what Kris has dealt with. She’s not a professional relationship coach or couple’s psychiatrist, but it’s part of her job as both a mother and a manager to help her five daughters through their relationships, and she admits that she doesn’t always understand right away or know what’s best. In Kris’s book, And All Things Kardashian, she reflects on how she handled some of the girls’ previous relationships, saying, “You have to understand that relationships have their ebbs and flows, and that life just evolves. It is about love and friendship. It not always about passion and heat. I just didn't understand that.”

16 Wanting To Shield Her Grandchildren

Kris has already raised her own six children and coached them through the sudden glare of global fame years ago. For better or for worse, her adult kids have already learned to handle their fame in their own way. While the family still experiences constant scrutiny and online critics, most of her kids know that the only way forward is to not take anyone's criticism to heart. Her children have come to terms with the way that their lives are.

However, she now has a crop of grandchildren growing up. With every day that passes, they are photographed and scrutinized and measured publicly.

And while growing up is difficult enough, these famous kids have no choice but to do it all in the spotlight. Kris revealed to People that this was her biggest fear for the future: her grandbabies having to grow up in a "negative environment." Kris shared that her biggest concern now is protecting her six grandkids, shielding the children who range in age from newborn to eight years old from the intense criticism that comes with fame.

15 Trying To Keep That Kardashian Figure

Kris's daughters are all in famously good shape. The Kardashian-Jenner girls make their living on looking great and follow a variety of diets and exercise routines to keep their figures svelte. The entire girl gang also advertises teas and waist trainers. Being in shape and having a great body is part of the Kardashian brand. Kris, although now 62, is no exception to this rule.

So how does the wildly busy Momager make time to keep toned? According to a Heat interview in 2016, by waking up wildly early. "I try to work out as much as possible and eat right," she shared with Heat Magazine in the interview. "I get up about 4.30am and workout" Kris revealed. So she's got her fitness routine down, but what about her diet? "I’m a foodie so I love to eat, so it’s a problem," Kris confessed, but the most unique trick the grandma has confessed to is "burning calories beneath the sheets," according to OK!.

14 Struggling To Find Family Time

One thing that Kris Jenner very publicly discusses and displays is her love for her family. Her six adult children live very busy lives and are constantly working around the world, as well as busy at home, as all but Kendall now have started their own families. With an extended family that large, there's a lot of love to go around, but it's not always easy for Kris to feel like she's getting her family time. When so many conflicting schedules are ever-present, it's nearly an impossible feat to get the whole family together to spend quality bonding time. Grandmother Kris definitely is emotionally affected by this, but also thrilled that the family is expanding, and simply looks forward to gatherings that much more, saying to People "We have three new highchairs at the table!"

One way that Kris deals with this dynamic is going the extra mile to make family vacations special.

Although it might be impossible to get all six kids, five partners, six grandkids and Kris's own mother together for regular Sunday dinners, she has more luck getting the family together for unforgettable trips. One of the most memorable trips was when Kris planned a surprise ski vacation in Colorado, getting all of her daughters onto a plane without telling them their endpoint. While the destinations have spanned the globe, including Thailand, Greece, Armenia, Paris, and Florence, the most important thing to Kris is always that everyone has a good time together.

13 Dealing With Girls Who Grow Up Too Fast

One thing that is unavoidable when growing up in the limelight is criticism. Celebrities must develop a thick skin to deal with constant scrutiny, unfortunately, even at a young age. This emotional maturity can take its toll on young stars, and certainly affects the rate at which they develop. While Khloe, Kourtney, and Kim were all in their 20s by the time the family reached national fame, the Jenner girls Kylie and Kendall were still very young.

Many famous young celebrities, or "child stars," tend to spiral out of control in their teen years and young adulthood. The pressures of fame can tear a young person apart. Kris and her two youngest girls did deal with the downsides of fame well, and the Jenner sisters were lucky to have three older sisters to look to for advice. Despite all of this support, it is undeniable that fame changed the girls' lives. Kendall was only 14 when she started her international modeling career, crossing into a new industry and full-time career. Kylie was left behind for a time, and dealt with some of her peers being less than kind to her. Kylie began getting some cosmetic adjustments done at age 15. Although her confidence and professional presence grew, Kris was not thrilled when Kylie bought her own house at 17, moving away at 18. Kris has certainly had to deal with her daughters growing up faster than most.

12 Maximizing Her Career Without Choosing Favorites

Kris is an absolute boss at building the careers of both herself and her children, but that means maximizing each moment of their potential and building off of their momentum. Kim was undoubtedly the most famous member of the family for a long time, and, although they all starred on the reality show together, the other daughters tended to get left in her shadow.

Kris absolutely supported all of her daughters, but it was necessary for her to focus a lot of her time and attention towards working with Kim.

It became a running joke on the show that Kim was Kris's favorite, which, although Kris denied it, is always hurtful for other siblings to feel. The older Kardashian girls were especially competitive about their mother's favoritism, often sharing with the camera confessions that they felt Kris always took Kim's side.

In 2012, Kris was a guest on Oprah, and implied that Kim was her favorite, saying they were "kindred spirits," but regretted saying anything about it. As time passed, she figured out a way to talk about "favorites" without hurting any of her kids, and told Heat in 2014, "I have a different favorite kid on any given day." We're glad that as all of Kris's kids mature and begin their own families, it seems like less of a competition.

11 Keeping Her Daughters Grounded In Reality

In 2015, Kim praised her younger sisters to the Independent for being " super grounded and responsible." As many celebrities are commonly criticized for being insincere and out of touch with regular people, being called "grounded" is quite the compliment. It's very easy to lose sight of what's important in life, especially if someone is surrounded by the constant glamour and excess of celebrity life. So how did Kris teach her children to be in control of their egos, and how does she keep them (and herself) in check with reality?

The answer is hard work, honesty, and friendly fire. Kris is a champion of hard work in her household, saying "everyone works in this home." It is important to the Kardashian-Jenner Matriarch that everyone earns their own way, and knows how it feels to work hard and be successful. Kris also advocates for full honesty in her family. She spoke to Paper about filming the show, and said: "you show the good along with the bad." Finally, Kris is known for calling her kids out and the entire family regularly exchanges good-natured roasts. Kris might sound a little harsh at times, but nothing keeps people humble like a good nudge every now and again. "Hey Kim, stop taking pictures of yourself, your sister is going to jail!"

10 Trying To Rein In Kanye

When Kanye West took to Twitter to declare “I no longer have a manager. I can’t be managed.”, true Kimye stans might have guessed what is now being speculated: it’s Kris’s turn to take a crack at managing Yeezus. While Kris’s six children of her own are certainly a handful, managing the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan apparently wasn’t stressful enough for the hardened momager.

It’s rumored that Kris is behind both Travis Scott and Kanye West recently leaving their managers.

Although Kylie has denied via Twitter the rumor that Kris is the new manager of both of the musicians, sources had told Page Six that Kris had Kanye leave longtime manager Izvor “Izzy” Zivkovic. "Kris is in [West’s] ears. Kanye’s been making changes and [he and Zivkovic] have grown apart—but Kris definitely gives her opinion and Kanye’s all ears. She’s about brand building and is gangster at it.” “She also told Travis Scott to leave Mark Gillespie,” the source said. “They are 100 percent part of that Kardashian-Jenner brand.”

Only time will tell whether Kris becomes Scott and West's official manager, but their mother-in-law certainly has quite an influence.

9 Dealing With Her Daughters' Differences

While being accused of favoritism is one thing, another problem that Kris works with is the differences with her daughters. Although they share gorgeous genes, the girls are all unique individuals, and Kris has to treat them all accordingly.

Kourtney is the oldest and has had her own family for the longest, which leads to her being a bit more reserved. She also naturally is more analytical. Kim was the first to reach real fame and takes up a lot of the spotlight. Khloe was more emotional growing up, being more difficult for Kris to deal with. Khloe is very tall and used to say she felt like she was adopted into the family, not quite fitting in. She also has struggled with her image and faced a lot of criticism when the older three daughters were adjusting to fame. Kendall took to her high-fashion modeling career very well and was allowed to do her own thing as a young teen because Kris saw her potential. That left Kylie as the last daughter at home, with Kris clinging to her childhood. Kylie also faced criticism from the outside world, as mentioned before.

With all of these different personality traits and situations, it's natural that the girls butt heads and argue sometimes. Kris, both as their mother and their manager, had to work around all of these traits and make the unique parts of each of her daughters shine. She had to be able to see value in not just what was obvious, but also what was different about her girls.

8  Dealing With A Daughter's Mistake

In perhaps one of the most infamous episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians ever, Khloe makes a mistake that stays with her for the rest of her life. There are few things more harrowing for a manager and a mother to deal with than the release of a child or client's personal tape, however, Khloe managed to top Kim when she was put in jail for a driving offense. The Kardashian family was together for a weekend to honor the four year anniversary of the passing of Robert Kardashian, Kris's first husband and the father of her three eldest girls and son.

Khloe took it much harder than the rest of the family, and began to cope in an unhealthy way. She was out late at a club and then decided to drive home before being subsequently jailed.

When Kris finally found out, she was angry to have not been informed earlier, and concerned for her daughter's wellbeing.

Although she and Khloe talked it out, it was a serious incident, and they both had to figure out how to manage it. Years later, Kris seems to have forgiven Khloe entirely but prefers to not let the moment slip or fade away: she keeps her daughter's mugshot framed on a shelf in her office.

7 Coping With The Loss Of Her First Husband

Kris and Robert Kardashian were married for ten years and had four children together. Robert was part of the legal team that defended O.J. Simpson, who had been friends with the family along with his wife before the infamous incident. The trial put a serious strain on the marriage, as well as simply "drifting apart," Kris told the Daily Mail. Kris and Robert Sr. divorced, which was difficult on her children, but allowed her to meet and marry Bruce Jenner, with whom she shared many happy years of marriage and two daughters.

Although it was twelve years after the divorce when Robert called Kris and told her that he was ill, she was devastated. She recounted the whole experience to Giuliana Rancic, still crying while describing it even years later. "The knowledge that he had this illness was one thing, but to think it would actually take his life. I never in a million years thought that would happen to him," she said. She then continued, "It still stings so bad, like it's so fresh," while continuing to cry and requesting a tissue. Finally, Kris said that the divorce would "always be a regret," although Bruce and Rob were good at putting their issues aside and co-raising the kids.

6 Helping Rob Find Happiness

While her famous daughters have flourished in their adult years, Kris's son Rob has had a significantly harder adjustment. Rob had a happy childhood and teen years, but in recent years, and since the family has reached peak fame, he has struggled. He has intermittently withdrawn from public life and has had difficulty keeping a public profile as his sisters do so successfully. Rob proposed to Blac Chyna and their first child was born in 2016, which seemed to signal an upswing in his life. Unfortunately, his happiness was short-lived, as Rob and Chyna broke up less than a year later.

Every family is different, and some children grow up to be more successful than others. However, in the glare of the spotlight, these comparisons can be more deeply hurtful.

Having a child who struggles with is difficult for any parent to deal with, but Kris's every move is scrutinized.

She tries to support Rob the best that she can, consistently promoting her son's sock line on social media, as well as building him up with compliments and praise. On his birthday, she posted "I'm so proud of the man you have become." We're with Kris that positivity is the only way forward!

5  Working Around The Scott Disick Problem

Scott Disick has been part of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians family since episode one. Although younger than eldest daughter Kourtney, Disick dated the starlet for many years. The couple had three children together, starting with Mason in 2009 and ending with Reign in 2014, but never married. Their on-again-off-again relationship ended officially in 2015, after a rollercoaster of problems. On the very first episode of KUWTK, Kris mistakenly accused Scott of seeing other women but was right to be concerned with the young man's fidelity.

Kris had to console Kourtney a number of times, and, although she may have seen breaking up with the "childish" Disick as the best move for her daughter, had to respect Kourtney's decisions. When the couple finally officially split, Kris told Haute Living New York, "[Kourtney's] kind of my hero right now." "She makes good decisions— always puts her children first and is accepting, loving, and dedicated to her family," the mother gushed. Although she was proud of her daughter's strength through the breakup, Scott is not out of the picture entirely and is still involved in the family and show.

4 Beefing Up Security To Protect Her Daughters

In 2017, the Kardashian family experienced a string of robberies. Most famously, Kim was robbed in her Paris hotel, escaping extremely shaken and minus her large engagement ring, among other jewelry. The robbery value amounted to $10 million dollars and left Kim pretty scared. Kendall Jenner was robbed as well, $200,000 of jewelry vanished from her Hollywood Hills home. According to Us Weekly, Kris shared...

“It’s an eye-opener how many people have tried to access our homes.”

Kris beefed up security on all of her family members after the scary incidents. Now, she says, “we’re protected to a crazy level.”

In response to the robberies, “Kim’s staff had to take polygraphs to see if anyone was involved in her robbery,” a source close to the 36-year-old mom of two revealed to Us. “Everyone passed,” according to the claim. Jenner also let go of the security guard who was on duty guarding her house the night that she discovered two watches had been stolen. Kim, who was deemed to need the highest level of protection of the family members, began taking a driver but also using decoy cars while leaving the house. A policy was also instituted that every person who entered Kim's home was patted down by security guards. Although intense, no level of security is too high of a price for Kris's family's safety.

3 Letting Kylie Find Herself

Kylie Jenner is the youngest member of the Kardashian Clan and perhaps the most successful. The gorgeous little sister is known around the world as an amazing beauty, as well as an extremely successful businesswoman. However, things were not always so easy for Kylie. In a feature for Teen Vogue in 2015, the star had one of her first covers and spoke candidly with the magazine's then-Editor in Chief, Amy Astley. The then 17-year old shared openly her history of low self-esteem. "I feel like I've heard the worst anyone can say about me over and over every day,” Kylie revealed. Kylie told Astley "(I have) the most beautiful sisters in the world...I just try to find what makes me feel good and be as confident as possible.”

Although she had low points, Kylie found her own way. Kris let Kylie have the freedom to find what made her feel confident. Finally, her daughter "(took something) from an insecurity and I turned it into something," building her Lip Kit empire. Kylie is now Kris's most successful daughter, reaching a net worth of $386 million dollars this year, according to MSN.

2 Working Through Her Own Relationship Difficulties

Married twice, Kris Jenner is not new to the relationship game. While coaching her daughters through their personal and professional lives, Kris herself has also been dealing with relationship highs and lows, and drama that nearly outdoes Kim's (remember that 72 day marriage between Kim and Kris Humphries?). Kris was first married at a very young age, to a man 11 years her senior. After ten years together, the relationship crumbled, and the pair formed differing life views. Her first divorce was from Robert, but her single life was short lived. Kris married Bruce Jenner months after her first divorce and lived what she described as a happy, loving romantic relationship for years. However, the couple split in 2015.

Lately, Kris has been dating Corey Gamble, a man more than 20 years her junior.

Although happy for her, her daughters found themselves coaching and giving advice for the new relationship, urging their mother to "take it slow."

1 Not Having Enough Closet Space For All Of Her Fabulousness

The Kardashian family has always lived in a beautiful home, first provided by Robert's career as a Lawyer, and later by Kris's management of Bruce's public speaking career. Kris has watched as one by one her adult children moved away from home, and, after divorcing Jenner in 2015, was left with a massive house and no one at home. Despite this, the uber-successful momager has always found a use for all of that space. Famously in 2016, Kris had a massive walk-in closet constructed exclusively for her Birkin bag collection, complete with neon art stating "NEED MONEY FOR BIRKIN" by artist Beau Dunn.

Despite her home being the iconic KUWTK gathering place, Jenner purchased an even larger home in January 2017. The new mansion is directly across the street from daughter Kim's home, clocking in an impressive 9,400-square-foot interior and located on a sprawling 55,757-square-foot lot, according to Harpers Bazaar. The mansion reportedly cost $9.9 million dollars and is located in the Hidden Hills. Fortunately, the massive house seems to have space both for Kris's growing family to visit and for all of her handbags to have a home of their own.
