9 Staying In The States Is Not In The Cards For Them
In case you are wondering (and we are sure that a lot of people are): moving back to Los Angeles is simply not in the cards for the Hemsworth family. While Chris was very hungry for fame during his early years, he’s not very keen on being a stereotypical actor who can only fit certain roles. “I came into Hollywood thinking I had to be Russell Crowe. I loved his performances, and because of my physicality and my size, that was the obvious choice. I think I was aware that it could kind of get me in the door,” Hemsworth told GQ in an interview. “But it wasn't me.”

Now, living in Los Angeles wasn’t all that bad for Chris and Elsa (with the exception of the photographers at every corner, of course). They had their good days and they had their bad days, but no matter how hard he tried, he just didn’t feel like it was home.
Chris told CN Traveler, “There were parts of Los Angeles-living that I loved – but me and my wife just felt it was right for the family that we moved back to Australia. The locals in Byron treat us just like locals. It’s more relaxed than Los Angeles, less intense, and just more conducive to raising our three children.”
7 His Boys Want To Grow Up To Be Just Like Dad
Just like millions of his fans from all over the world, Chris’s sons idolize their father. They want to grow up to be just like him and learn how to surf! It’s a good place that they live in Australia, right? Chris told CN Traveler, “The beaches I grew up on – not just for the surfing but for the exploring as well. We are so spoilt in Australia but my favorite beach might have to be Cape Woolamai on Victoria’s Phillip Island for the surfing. And Julian Rocks in Byron Bay for diving, as the sea life is just incredible.”
6 Chris Would Move Mountains For His Kids
Chris is so dedicated to his family that he would move mountains for his children. Just like so many other fathers out there, there’s nothing that he wouldn’t do for his wife Elsa and their three children. However, he does admit that there are challenges to being a husband and a father. Chris told Bang Showbiz, “It’s much more difficult than you think it’s going to be. You have to change your thinking and be completely there for them. They have also taught me what real love is and what true responsibility means. I am more mindful of leaving enough time between projects to be at home with my wife and our children.
