Fans couldn’t believe it when Rob Kardashian announced his engagement to Blac Chyna in 2016 after only three months of dating. Considering Chyna shared a son with Kylie Jenner’s then-boyfriend, many fans wondered if the model was dating Rob simply to get back at her ex. It was even more surprising when the couple then announced Chyna’s pregnancy that same year. The couple welcomed their daughter Dream in November 2016.
However, things weren’t drama-free for very long between the new parents. The couple announced their break-up on social media in December of the same year, when Dream was only a month old. Rob claimed Chyna moved out of their home along with their daughter without telling him. The following July, Rob and Chyna got involved in a heated exchange online. Rob insulted his ex and even released scantily-clad photos of her on his social media profiles. His ex-subsequently lawyered up, and not only gave Rob domestic charges, but also filed a lawsuit against the Kardashian family (which was later dismissed).
Needless to say, Rob and Chyna have been through a lot as they try to parent their daughter, Dream. Ever since Rob took a step back from social media, the parents seem to be getting along better. Keep reading to discover what fans should know about Dream Kardashian.
20 CPS Is Investigating Dream’s Mom, Chyna
This past January, Blac Chyna made headlines when reports said Child Protective Services paid her a visit after getting an anonymous tip. These reports came days after it was revealed Chyna had got into a fight with her makeup artist, causing the employee to flee the celebrity’s home and call the authorities.
According to Radar Online, Chyna believed it was Rob who called CPS. “The makeup artist’s story somehow quickly got back to Rob, and then someone who knows Rob called 911,” a source said. “They were never in any danger and any reports to the contrary are entirely false,” Chyna’s lawyer told the publication, adding, “Anyone who submits a knowingly false report to Child Protective Services may be subject to criminal and civil liability.”
19 Chyna Leaves Dream With The Nanny To Go On Vacation
This past January, reports said Rob was furious after Chyna went on vacation to Hawaii with her boyfriend Kid Buu and left Dream with the nanny, despite it being her week to take care of their daughter.
TMZ reported that the mom-of-two only gave Rob a day’s notice before taking off, and he was upset because he could’ve cared for their daughter during that time.
The dad-of-one had even more reason to worry when it was reported Chyna got into a heated argument with her boyfriend on the trip. Authorities had to be called to their hotel because things escalated so much.
18 Her Parents Battled Out Custody In Court
Following Rob’s infamous social media rant against Chyna and her subsequent lawsuits against the Kardashian Klan, it was surprising to hear that the exes had reached a custody agreement in private with the help of their legal team. But in September 2017, after much public feuding, Chyna’s lawyer Lisa Bloom announced the two had privately reached an agreement.
"Chyna is pleased that Rob has agreed to peacefully co-parent Dream with her, as she has been requesting all along," Bloom told E! News. Part of the agreement includes a clause that says Rob has to stay away from his ex unless it has to do with their daughter.
"She will always have the right to go back into court if further incidents...occur. This agreement does not resolve all disputes between Chyna and Rob," the lawyer said, adding that "Rob does not have more than 50 per cent custody."
17 But Reports Say Rob Is Now Demanding Full Custody
Evidently, both Rob and Chyna have been happy with their custody agreement up until now. But reports say things all changed after Chyna’s dispute between her and her then-boyfriend in Hawaii last January. Reports say Rob and his family are hoping he can earn full custody of Dream.
“Kris immediately sprang into action and called their lawyer to demand that Rob be granted full custody of Dream. She thinks Chyna should get supervised visitation, if that, for now,” a source told Radar Online. “They are using her erratic behavior as well as rumored substance abuse issues as ammo. The whole family just feels that Dream is not safe. It is just [a bad] situation.”
16 Dream Doesn’t Have A Relationship With Her Grandmother
Although Dream spends a lot of time with her father’s family, it doesn’t seem like she’s as close to her mother’s. Last October, her maternal grandmother Tokyo Toni reached out to Rob via the media pleading with him to allow her to see Dream. From the sounds of it, Chyna isn’t allowing her mom to have a relationship with her granddaughter.
“Hey Rob, this is me, Tokyo. Unfortunately, things still haven’t changed, since we last spoke, obviously,” Toni said in a video posted on social media. “Is it any way possible that you could let me see Dream? Through FaceTime or send me a video to my DM or anything. I don’t even know how the baby [sounds]. It’s absolutely ludicrous … but this is the only way I can get through to you. I don’t have any numbers for anybody anymore.”
15 Chyna And Rob Rely On Nannies To Co-Parent
Despite it being over two years since Chyna and Rob’s break-up, the exes still aren’t on very amicable terms. Sources say that they dislike being face-to-face so much that they use their nannies to drop off and fetch Dream so they can avoid seeing each other.
According to Daily Mail, Chyna usually has their daughter for four days of the week, while Rob gets her for three. “Sometimes there's a scheduling conflict with either Chyna or Rob, but they've learned to pivot without any real drama,” a source told the publication.
They continued, “A big reason for their success [is] nannies. We're told both Rob and Chyna have their own who handle all the baby hand-offs.”
14 Dream Might Be An Older Sister Soon
Although Dream has an older half-brother, King Cairo, who her mother shares with her ex fiancée Tyga, the three-year old currently has no younger siblings. However, all of that might change soon as Chyna says she definitely wants more children in the future.
"I wanna have maybe like two more [children]. I wouldn't mind having four; I think four is a good number. No more after that. Five is too many. I'd have to get a minivan for sure, and I'm not riding in no minivan," the reality star told Us Weekly.
When asked about her favourite things about being a mom, Chyna explained, "To show them things, watch them grow and see myself in them. King is like me; he's really strong. If he wants something, he'll demand it. He has really good common sense, and I see that in myself. He likes to figure out things. [Dream is] a really, really happy baby."
13 Kris Jenner Almost Took Custody Of Dream
Last year, Chyna made headlines after she was caught on tape swinging her daughter’s toy stroller around at Six Flags after a stranger reportedly tried to touch Dream’s head. This caused many to question her parenting skills, including Kris Jenner.
Life and Style reported the Momager was even considering fighting for custody of her granddaughter at one point. “She wants her lawyers to use footage from the incident as proof that Chyna is an unfit mom,” a source told the magazine.
Previously, lawyer Alyssa Eisner told In Touch that it wasn’t impossible for Kris to earn custody of Dream. She said, “In order for the courts, at least, to determine who would obtain custody, they would have to prove what would be in this baby’s best interest...And given [Rob and Chyna’s] behavior, there is a very good case for Kris Jenner to make, given what transpired.”
12 Dream Was Allowed To Wear Hair Extensions At Two Years Old
Fans were not having it last April when Chyna posted a photo of her two-year-old daughter rocking bright pink hair extensions. Many of her followers left comments saying this wasn’t a good look for a toddler. “My beautiful baby girl,” Chyna captioned the photo. However, after a slew of negative comments, she ended up deleting the picture.
"Poor thing. She’s so pretty, BUT TAKE [that] OUT OF HER HAIRRRRRRR," one angry fan wrote. Another said, "It’s not necessary and [it's] a baby, not a [doll] to play with." However, considering Kourtney and Kim have both allowed their daughters to rock hair extensions, we doubt the Kardashians are too concerned about this “indiscretion.”
11 Rob Can’t Afford His Child Support Payments
When they settled their custody battle in 2017, reports said that Rob agreed to pay Chyna an undisclosed amount in child support. Kardashian fans know that Rob doesn’t have as many business ventures going on as his sisters, so his income is more limited.
That’s why it wasn’t surprising when reports last spring said the reality star was struggling to keep up with his child support payments. According to The Blast, the court required Rob to pay his ex $20,000 per month. But given all the legal fees the star was still paying off after his multiple court cases with Chyna, it’s evidently put him in a corner. The publication added Rob was taking steps to request the court lower his monthly dues.
10 But Dream’s Mom Also Struggles With Money
Despite getting hefty child support paychecks from both of her exes, Chyna has hinted that she struggles financially to provide for her two kids. Last November, the mom-of-two went online to insult both Rob and Tyga for evidently not contributing enough to their children’s upbringings.
“‘So my children aren’t supposed to live the same lifestyle as their fathers ETC ETC ha? As a single Mother, I provide for them and give them the luxury lifestyle they deserve…..WOW!!!” she wrote on social media. Chyna’s rant came at the same time that reports said Rob was struggling to pay child support.
9 Chyna’s Mom Thinks Rob Should Have Dream Full-Time
We sure didn’t see this one coming! Blac Chyna’s mother Tokyo Toni has always been an outspoken supporter of her daughter. However, after Chyna’s debacle in Hawaii earlier this year with her boyfriend, Toni has stated she thinks it might be in her two grandchildren’s best interests to stay with their dads.
“I don’t think nothing is wrong with children going with their dads until their mothers get better..,” she told TMZ. “I don’t know if they should keep them, but I do believe [they should have the kids] for a little while [until] she pulls [herself] together because it’s clear, very clear … something is terribly wrong.”
8 Dream Spent Easter With Her Mom
Although most of the Kardashian Klan was present at Kanye’s Coachella Sunday Service on Easter weekend, Dream was noticeably absent. Instead, the three-year old spent time with her mother and older half-brother. Chyna posted various videos and photos on social media showing Dream and King Cairo searching for eggs in their backyard.
It’s also unclear if Rob spent the holidays with his family, as he was absent from their posts on social media. However, fans can rest assured that Dream didn’t spend the holidays away from her paternal family because of bad blood. Rob stated in March that he and Chyna have made amends and are on better terms than ever.
“[Chyna,] the mother of my child whom I have a wonderful relationship with, decided to drop the child support case because she felt it was in the best interest of our daughter,” Rob said, Page Six reports. “Please stop creating all these falsehoods concerning [Chyna] and I.”
7 Rob Got Backlash For Dressing Dream In A Bikini
Nowadays, Rob isn’t very active on social media. But there was a time when the young dad was constantly updating fans with adorable pics of himself with his daughter. However, there was one time when a photo actually got him in trouble with fans.
In 2017, Rob shared a photo of seven-month-old Dream in a pool with him. While the shot looked innocent, many of his followers pointed out that the baby’s itty bitty bikini didn’t seem like the right swimwear given how much the family is in the public eye, Daily Mail reports. After getting backlash on multiple occasions, Rob stopped posting pool pictures of his daughter altogether.
6 The Families Celebrate Her Birthday Separately
Ever since things went sour between Rob and Chyna, the exes have been celebrating milestones and holidays separately with their little girl, including birthdays. For both Dream’s second and third birthday, her mom and dad’s families threw her separate bashes. And of course, the Kardashians went all out!
Last year, Dream’s Kardashian aunts threw her a fairy-themed party, TMZ reports. The festivities included kid-friendly teepees, adults dressed in fairy costumes, and a shiny child-sized Bentley for Dream. Although Chyna was nowhere to be found, she later celebrated her daughter’s birthday at a different time.
5 Rob Wants To Trademark Dream’s Name
Many of the Kardashians have opted to trademark their children’s names, including Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. That way, no one else could start a business profiting from the famous monikers. It also gives the kids the chance to release their own products or launch a business using their name in the future.
This past February, reports said Rob is considering trademarking his daughter’s name. According to Metro, the reality star wants to do so in order to take advantage of “marketing opportunities.” Rob believes Dream “could be the face of children’s projects such as toys and electronic games.” The website added that Rob has already filed the paperwork to get the process going.
4 She Has A Great Relationship With Her Big Brother
As we’ve mentioned, Chyna has an older son, King Cairo, who she shares with her ex Tyga. Evidently, King and Dream get along splendidly, which has got to be a relief for their mom. Chyna once said her son couldn’t wait to be a big brother and didn’t want to put the baby down when she arrived.
"Even when I first had her, in the hospital, people were trying to hold her, and King was like, 'No, give her back to my mom!' I was like, 'I'm so proud,'” Chyna told Us Weekly. From the sound of it, both King and Dream would be amazing big siblings to another kiddo if Chyna ever decides to have a third baby.
3 Dream Once Threw Rob A B-Day Party
She may be only three years old, but Dream already has some mad party-planning skills. The Kardashian Klan got together last month on St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate Rob’s birthday, and it was Khloe who revealed on social media that the whole bash was Dream’s idea.
"Dreamy Dream wanted to throw her daddy a special birthday party before she goes to see her mommy," Khloe wrote online. "Her daddy's birthday is on Sunday (St. Patty's Day) but she got her cousins together to celebrate."
"Dream is great at throwing parties! Thank you Dreamy! She picked out the decorations, created the invite list and everything," Khloe continued. "Get ready for another party on Sunday!"
2 She’s The Only Kardashian Kid To Have The Last Name
Many fans may not realize it, but of all the Kardashian offspring Dream is the only one to carry the family’s famous last name!
All the other children have taken their dad’s names. Kourtney’s kids, Penelope, Mason, and Reign, are all Disicks. Kim’s three kiddos, North, Saint, and Chicago, have the last name West. Khloe gave True the last name Thompson, while Kylie’s daughter is Stormi Webster.
It’s also highly unlikely any other Kardashian kiddos will have the famous last name unless Rob has more children in the future.
1 Dream Already Knows How To Apply Makeup
Given that many of her aunts are huge in the beauty business, we guess it should come as no surprise that Dream is already showing off her talent with a makeup brush. Last November, the kiddo made headlines after Kim Kardashian posted footage of her daughter North and niece Dream doing her makeup.
"I have Miss North here, and she is going to give me a makeup tutorial," Kim said to the camera. When North spilled a bottle of foundation, she started crying. "My makeup artists usually don't act this way!" Kim said, trying not to laugh. However, North eventually carried on with applying foundation while Dream added highlighter and blush.
