Hollywood doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to lasting romances, and the constant breakups and new relationships are what makes A-listers' love lives so fascinating --and the subject of much tabloid fodder.
Many celebrities seem to get particularly close to other people in the industry, whether it’s their co-star or director, which makes sense because this person can understand their demanding work schedules, the invasion of the paparazzi, and the team of stylists that are always on the sidelines.
But then, there are others who prefer to date guys who are what we would consider totally normal. Actually, some of these stars have even gone on to fall in love and marry men who have nothing to do with the entertainment industry.
Take Julianna Margulies as an example, who fell in love with a lawyer (which is especially interesting since she portrayed one onscreen for The Good Wife), and Jessica Chastain, who is married to a handsome Italian fashion executive. What this suggests is that there is hope for civilians who want to end up with a big star.
Below are 20 A-list actresses who married normal, non-celebrities--although, not all of their romances were the lasting kind.
Julianna Margulies was a lawyer on the hit TV series The Good Wife and interestingly, she's married to a lawyer in real life, Keith Lieberthal.
The couple has been married since 2007, and when they first met, Margulies knew this man was special.
They met at a friend’s dinner party, and Margulies previously told Ellen DeGeneres the conversation went like this: "When he came over to me, I said, 'Look, I just think you are so handsome. Are you a model or an actor and are you 12 [years old]?'" Her pickup line obviously worked, and the pair has been inseparable since.
You know her as Wonder Woman, and Gal Gadot is fast becoming a household name. But the man she chose to marry has nothing to do with the entertainment industry.
According to PopSugar, in 2008 Gadot married Israeli businessman Yaron Varsano. The pair had met two years earlier at what Gadot told Cosmopolitan was a "very strange party in the Israeli desert.” She also revealed how Varsano realized early on she was the woman he wanted to spend forever with, saying, "He told me on our second date he was serious and wasn't going to wait more than two years to ask me to marry him. Fast forward two years: he proposed.”
When it was revealed that Stacy Keibler was married in a beautiful beach wedding in 2014, everyone wanted to know more about her husband, Jared Pobre.
After all, the couple had a pretty whirlwind romance and after just six months of dating, they tied the knot, E! News reported.
What we can tell you is that Pobre is a successful businessman and according to the publication, before he and Keibler became romantically involved they were good friends. That's understandable, as it’s often thought that a relationship founded on friendship is one that lasts. So how do we make friends with a celeb??
Modern Family’s Julie Bowen found love with Scott Phillips, a real estate investor. The couple married in 2004 and in 2016, Bowen discussed Hollywood’s romances (and constant breakups) with Us Weekly, telling the publication that she and her husband “watch all these people get married and split up and go, ‘Wait, did they get married after us or before us?’" She continued, "We outlast all these people. The answer: We’re too tired to do anything else!”
But unfortunately her statement did not remain true forever, and in 2018, the couple announced that they too were splitting after 13 years of marriage.
Marcia Cross has found happiness with a financial advisor named Tom Mahoney and they have quite the romantic story. According to People, Cross saw Mahoney outside a flower shop in Los Angeles and left her number with the shopkeeper.

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has had some interesting onscreen romances, but the best romance is with her real-life husband, Chris Ivery. Ivery is a music producer, and he and Pompeo married in 2007.
In 2018, Pompeo spoke to the Us Weekly podcast In Case You Missed Us and revealed that one of the reasons she feels she’s been lucky in love is because she accepts her husband for who he is. She said, “Just don’t try to change people. They are who they are, and they were fine when you married them, so don’t expect them to change.”
Actress Zoë Saldana is married to an Italian artist by the name of Marco Perego. In the summer of 2013, the couple exchanged vows in a secret ceremony just outside of London, England, E! News reported.

Lisa Kudrow and French advertising executive Michel Stern are among the select few when it comes to Hollywood’s long-lasting relationships--and the couple has been married for more than 20 years (they married in 1995).
Perhaps one of the reasons for their strong marriage is Kudrow’s approach to it, as she told Glamour, “When [Michel and I] decided to get married, we understood: We're not promising to love each other forever, because you can't do that, but we are promising to work on whatever problems come up. We're committed to our marriage working. It turns out, after you have a history, there's such a bond, and love takes another shape…”

The pair is believed to have met on Banks' first day of college.
According to InStyle, ten years later, Max surprised Elizabeth with a proposal. They walked down the aisle in 2003. Rather than having traditional vows, they decided to read letters that they had written to each other during their first year of dating.
Jessica Chastain is not married to another actor--instead, she found herself an Italian fashion executive named Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.
Although Gian Luca is not an actor, he has rubbed shoulders with many famous people over the years. In fact, Bustle notes that he previously worked as the director of public relations at Armani, where he met George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Leonardo DiCaprio. No word on how the pair ultimately connected, however. Still, the most memorable person Gian Luca ever met was obviously Chastain, whom he married in Italy in 2017.

Though it was a surprise to many of her fans, Scarlett didn't leave room for doubt.
The pair married at the end of 2014 at The Ranch at Rock Creek in Philipsburg.

Sweeney opened up to Health about their tradition, saying, “Every year on our anniversary, we have a dinner date and talk about how our relationship is going. We kind of give each other a job evaluation, which sounds a little embarrassing! We talk about our three favorite things about the other person and then three things that we could work on.”

Judd married Lopez in 2001, after meeting her earlier that year when he directed the music video for her track, “Love Don't Cost a Thing,” The Mirror reports. But ultimately, it wasn't meant to be, and the couple split after nine months of marriage.
