Partying is almost a universal right in the Western world. Countries such as the United Kingdom, Spain, and parts of the United States, depend on the party culture of young adults around the world in order to sustain their economies. However, there is a big difference between recreational partying, and problem partying. It is not up to us to say which of these celebrities qualify as problem versus recreational, but rather to you the reader to infer whether you think they have crossed the line.
When you’re a celebrity in Hollywood, going out and partying is part of the job! But there’s definitely a fine line between partying and getting so messed up you can’t even form words and act like a human being. The celebs on this list definitely took partying to a whole other level. Most can’t even keep their eyes open let alone walk properly. It’s scary to see how much the paparazzi catch celebrities partying because they do it so often. Do they not realize the damage they’re putting their body through? Well obviously they don’t really care.

18 Paris Hilton: Not As Think As You Drunk I am
Oh, Paris. There once was a time when your notorious partying was the thing of headline and headaches around the world. We’re not quite sure when this picture was taken, but both clearly show the degree of looseness being exhibited by their heiress. In the first, she is joined by what can be assumed to be a female friend or acquaintance. We’re assuming that they’re just getting to know each other a little better, but we’re also wondering whether the second photo suggests that the first might not be remembered by Paris in the morning. Back when we’re assuming this photo was taken, Paris Hilton dated former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. In a memoir published a few years ago, Carter describes Hilton’s actions as having a bad influence on him, even going so far as to blame her for his wild ways.
17 Lindsay Lohan: Probably Not The Worst Thing She's Done in This State...
Injuring yourself if never the intention when under the influence, but we’d hate to be LiLo in this photo. Nothing is more painful the following morning than waking up to a horrendous, usually purple, bruise from such incidents as this. We’re sure that Lindsay is no stranger to such awakenings. In a series of articles published by Fox News last year, journalists describe how Lohan, once a wild child, then not a wild child, is in fact a wild child again. In order to confirm this, Fox had a bunch of doctors comment on the child star’s actions, all of which culminated in the assumption that Lohan will in fact relapse once again. Lohan has, however, moved her partying to Europe, where it is far more acceptable, and the concept of alcoholism just doesn’t have the same impact on the party culture of locals. 16 Miley Cyrus: Happy Party Party Party
Party in the USA, or party in the club? Fans of this pop princess will remember her once overbearing belief in waiting until marriage, a push by most Disney stars during the early 2000s. Now, all of the survivors of the Disney and Nickelodeon empires have finally grown up, and they’re partying like adults too. No one has grown up quite like Ms. Cyrus though. In January 2017, the Hannah Montana star threw her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, a huge birthday party… oh, and the theme of the party was marijuana! The party was thrown in California, and occurred just after the state voted to legalize recreational marijuana use, meaning the whole thing was done legally. Cyrus thanked Snoop Dogg for being a dope ganja innovator, so we assume that the partying has moved from drinking, to doping for Miley.
15 Scott Disick: Oh Lord, He's Lashed...
Scott Disick, the drunkest of the drunkies in this photo. Sporting a Rolex, far too unbuttoned shirt, and what we believe to be a bottle of Amstell, Disick is personifying himself in this image, surrounded by the most hipster party goers we’ve ever seen. Unless this is a fancy dress party, where white t-shirts, snap backs, denim shirts, and faux-ripped jeans, and hoodies with unnecessary buttons are mandatory, we’re just going to assume that this is Scott’s natural habitat. Now that he’s a single man, Disick has been spotted all over the European continent with his new beau Sofia Richie, and back in June, his two week trip to Cannes was reported as a non-stop bender. Whatever the situation, Disick seems to be living life to the fullest now that he’s free of Kardashian scrutiny.
14 Kendall Jenner: The Rumors Continue
Kendall and Kylie Jenner, spotted here with the Number-One “not sober” look of all time, are both pretty young women. Partying at this age is normal, but we’re also ninety-nine percent sure that Kylie was not old enough to be legally drunk in America at the time this was taken… so lets concentrate on Kendall. Rumors about Kendall’s sexuality and party habits have erupted in the past year, with outlets like Blind Gossip suggesting that she was particularly wasted as a set of work events over the course of the last few months.
Whether or not this is true, we’re just glad that neither Jenner sister opted to attempt to drive themselves in this state. Sitting in the back of the car is exactly where they need to be, and where you should be too if you look like this.
13 Wills and Kate: Royally Smashed
There is a strangely warming sensation for the Brit abroad when writing this post. You see, all Euro-brats have been exactly where these two are in this photograph: not sober, not hammered, happy, and in love, and on their way home. We figure this photo may even be from as far back as the start of the 2000s, considering how much hair young Wills has. This would put the young love birds back in their time at university. This was when they first met and fell in love, and would eventually blossom into being the future King and Queen of Great Britain. We’re sure their party habits have curbed now - and let’s face it, they were never as bad as Harry - and we’re all very excited to have them at the helm of our nation in the future.
12 Drew Barrymore: She Needs to Phone Home
Drew Barrymore’s relationship with partying started young. She wasn’t even thirteen-years-old when she first entered rehab. Her father was an alcoholic too, and put Drew to work in entertainment when she was just 11-months old. It was at age seven that the world fell in love with Drew, when she played the littlest sister in ET: The Extra Terrestrial. At age nine, her mother began taking her to nightclubs, sometimes up to give times a week, where she started taking drugs, socializing with older men, and eventually leading herself to be checked into a mental institution for a year and a half, her mother only visiting on occasion. Thankfully, this traumatic childhood led Drew to eradicate the potential of this lifestyle for her own children. We’re assuming that scene like this no longer feature in Drew’s life.
11 Party Quad: Paris, Tara Reid, Nicky Hilton, Nicole Richie
Party girls in Hollywood need an entourage. However, this photo comes years before the rise of the Kardashian Klan, and advent of the entourage for celebs. Back in the early 2000s, celebrities depended on each other for raising individual profiles. The easiest way to do this? Party.
Here we can see Paris Hilton (far left), Tara Reid, Nicky Hilton, and Nicole Richie. All are sporting the awkwardly traditional garb of the early 2000s, and drinks galore. Smudged makeup and orange tans further imply that none of the above are particularly sober, and the packet of cigarettes in front of Reid add to this assumption. What should be noted about this photograph is the lack of selfie capabilities: this photo was taken on a camera. Can you imagine? A CAMERA.
10 Sofia Richie: New Blood
It’s always nice to see couples partying together, but Sofia Richie has taken a step into a dark territory by dating Scott Disick, party Lord of the Manor. Sofia is only 19-years-old, meaning that her ability to party in the United States is significantly limited… but this hasn’t stopped her. In a recent article by the Daily Mail, the little Richie was spotted in New York with Disick, walking off of a party bus and into another party. This comes just weeks after returning from a trip to Miami, where the 19-year-old was spotted visiting Liv club, despite her underage limitation. The Senior Richie - yes, Lionel - is not so happy about the relationship between Sofia and Scott, so let’s watch this space and see if Scott’s history of partying continues to edge into Sofia’s young lifestyle.
9 Kris Jenner: Ultimate Mom Cringe
Kris Jenner was attacked by her sister, Karen Houghton, in 2014 for apparently being a hardcore drinker. The star’s little sister took to social media to ask friends and family to pray for Kris, who apparently drinks and parties way too much for a mother of six. Though she didn’t explicitly call the Momanger an alcoholic, Houghton did say, “If she [Kris] is drinking, she’s drinking.”
We can only assume that this is the case in the above photograph. Kris has habits of getting tipsy, and was even a smoker in the earlier seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but there is a fine line between partying for fun, and ignoring family members in order to party instead. The latter would suggest problem levels of alcohol use…
8 Justin Bieber: As If His Team Would Let Any Good Photos Leak
Justin Bieber, King of the rumor mill: here he is partying with everyone’s favorite British ginger, Ed Sheeran. We’re assuming that cocktail he has in his hand is something with cranberry juice, which is one of the best remedies to a soar throat and to the notorious urinary tract infection. It’s also one of the healthier mixers of choice, with far less sugar and calories than orange juice or pineapple juice. Though there are very few currently active rumors in regards to the Biebs, historically there have been plenty. There are the ones regarding Bieb’s relationship with Colombia’s finest (technically Peru/Mexico’s finest now), partying until blacking out all over the world, and even performing while under the influence. One of the longest standing rumors is that Biebs now has to lip sync almost all his concerts because he was too messed up to remember the lyrics from when he wrote them.
7 Avril Lavigne: See Ya Later Boi
Chateau Marmont, where all celebrities go to be spotted. Avril Lavigne was no stranger to the Chateau back in 2014, where she was seen partying it up on the repeat, failing to be snapped wearing the huge 17-carat diamond ring given to her by then-beau Chad Kroeger of Nickleback fame(ish). The singer also claimed that she doesn’t remember much in the way of her wedding to Kroeger, as after the couple wed near to 9 o’clock in the night, they then decided to party until six in the morning. However, the couple claim to not party when they’re away from each other. Just a few years after getting married, though, Avril was spotted out and about without her wedding or engagement ring, and without Kroeger. Only a few years after being wed, Avril and Kroeger broke up. Did partying have anything to do with it? No idea, but maybe.
6 She's Gone Gaga
Lady Gaga has never shied away from talking about the realities of her life. Back in 2009, she admitted that her own father saved her from a deadly cocaine addiction. Admittedly, the star is now very healthy thanks to diet and exercise, but there was a minute there when it could have gone either way.
Gaga once gave Beyonce a panic attack because the other star caught Gaga smoking weed. The Five-foot-Two star admitted that when she hangs out with Bey and Jay-Z, she’s always in the corner with about nine joints (marijuana cigarette) hanging out of her mouth. As marijuana is legal for both medical and recreational use across a majority of the United States, we’ve nothing to say on the legality of Gaga’s usage. We’re just thrilled she’s not using anything else any more.
5 Britney Spears: Why Is Paris Always Around??
Britney Spears is the quintessential party-girl of the early 2000s. Here, she is snapped with pal Paris Hilton (who always seems to be around?!) in an undisclosed nightclub in Los Angeles. Britney has been snapped all over the world for well over a decade of partying, but Paris and Lindsay Lohan are frequently found to be somewhere in the mix too.
Back in 2006, Britney claimed that she had taken the whole party scene way too far, but nothing seems to have changed for the child star. Does she not remember the uncensored crotch shots that were sprayed around the internet when she used to hit the town with Paris and LiLo back in the day, because we sure do!
4 Tara Reid: Queen Of The Party
Tara Reid is just about the only woman in Hollywood that is always down to party. Though her drinking has led her to be described as “scatter-brained,” “stubborn,” and reactionary Reid seems to have no interest in mitigating her partying habits. She even went as far as to defend her partying, but claiming that she doesn’t go too crazy, and that it’s really not all that bad. However, we don’t believe you Tara, and we have the photos to prove it.
Reid went to rehab in 2008 for pills, and was only in her mid-20s at the time. The drinking that Tara has piled on herself has certainly aged the young celebrity, but her appearances on reality shows suggest that she has no interest in quelling her habits.
3 Matthew McConaughey: Viral Partier
There is a fine line between the normal partier, and the viral partier. We’d like to thank Matthew McConaughey for this one, and to his celebrity friends for giving us the details. Anne Hathway claimed that after she got the dates wrong for one of his infamous parties, the A-lister kept the party going until the next day for her and her husband. However, it is infamous party shits from his adventures in Nicaragua that makes us love McConaughey.
McConaughey has never shied away from discussing his party lifestyle, so we weren’t surprised to find these shots still making the rounds today. When asked whether he was actually drunk in the photos, McConaughey replied with:
“Drunk? Absolutely! Nicaragua s a beautiful place, epic waves, the best surfing I ave been on, and YES, I’m still looking for my left flip-flop.”
2 Simon Cowell: Posh Drinks (but not really)
Simon Cowell, the quintessential British drunkard. You see, when hammered (a British colloquialism for being very drunk) Brits tend to do things they wouldn’t otherwise do when sober. The list in this regard is long, but one of the main ones is smoking cigarettes. It is a truth universally acknowledged that Brits want cigarettes and selfies when drunk. Simon is just optimizing this in both of these images. Beer. Cigarettes. Kebab. Talking to cab drivers about who knows what. Somehow getting home. Spending less than $30 on the entire night, including club entry, kebab, and getting this hammered, is not unusual across the pond, just don’t anticipate it being that cheap in London. What’s more is that it sounds like Simon likes to spread the love. Late last year (2016) pop star Nicole Scherzinger was caught staggering out of one of his parties!

Hooded eyes. Half-smile. Scruffy, awkward facial hair. Oh, it must be a drunken Brad Pitt! Here the A-lister presents with the best impression of drunken eyes we’ve seen on this list. Pitt is no liar when it comes to his history with alcohol. His divorce from Angelina Jolie threw the star’s personal life into the limelight, with his drinking habits being at the center of their battle for custody. Pitt, after admitting to his relationship with alcohol, went as far as to brag that he “could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka.”
Evidently, Pitt can’t remember a day since college when he wasn’t boozing or smoking marijuana. These revelation came after his devastating divorce with Jolie, and he claims he has since quit all booze and weed use.
