16 Vitamin C & E

Vitamin C & E? Aren’t they something you swallow? No, we don’t mean to take your vitamins by mouth with a big breakfast - although you can do that, too. What we mean here is using these two powerful vitamins in serum or lotion form and be placed directly on your skin. Use them after you have washed your face and before you slather on your moisturizer to ensure the benefits seep deep into your skin. These two ingredients help keep your skin healthy and glowing, while also keeping those unwanted fine lines and wrinkles at bay. They are said to even help those lines you might already have actually fade away easier than without using anything at all. Talk about a two-for-one benefit! You’ll also see your skin actually brighten from these two vitamins, which has you incredibly happy that you added them into your everyday morning routine.

15 Sunscreen

Sunscreen should always be ranked high on the top of your beauty routine list. By now we all know how important it is to use sunscreen on our skin. But it’s not just about using it when you are out sunbathing in the summer months. You need to use sunscreen every day no matter what time of year it is - and you’ll be happy that you do. By using sunscreen year-round, you’ll ensure that your skin stays healthy and young without the cause of skin cancer lurking in the background. Slather on sunscreen in the morning after you wash your face - and before you put on your moisturizer - to ensure you are ready to hit the road with solid protection. This simple morning act will allow you to feel good about what you are doing to your skin, and allow you to keep your skin looking and feeling its best for many years to come.

14 Healthy Breakfast

While what we do and do not put on our skin is important, it’s also important what we put into our bodies in the morning. Sure, we all love those fluffy pancakes topped with the sugary syrup and heavy cream, but that’s not something we should be eating all the time. And not something that’s going to make us feel good in the morning. Well, it might make us feel good some mornings, like after a long night out and you need to feed your hangover - that or are working on a new buzz come Sunday brunch. But all in all, these heavy breakfasts should not be your main priority. Instead, stick to refreshing greek yogurt that’s heavy enough to fill you up without the added calories to weigh you down. Top it with fresh fruit, coconut shavings, and even some healthy granola for a delicious breakfast that you’ll feel good about eating, and therefore feel better about yourself both inside and out.

13 Drink Water

So many of us know how important water is for us - and so many of us take it for granted - but we still don’t go out of our way to drink it. Like really drink it, all day every day. Not just drink it after a long run or an all-night binger. You should be getting at least eight glasses of water every day to help hydrate you. Water helps keep you going all day long, and without it, there’s a good chance you might crash from dehydration. Not a good look. But that’s not the only reason. Getting enough water every day actually helps keep your skin hydrated and therefore healthier looking. When you wake up every morning, flush out your system with a tall glass of water. Your insides will feel great with the sudden rush of cool water, and your skin will feel fresh and moisturized without even putting anything on it.

12 Good Sleep

Getting a good night’s rest is also very important in your morning routine. If you sleep well, you wake up looking and feeling well. On the contrary, when you don’t sleep well or get very little shut eye, you wake up feeling anything but your best. You’re groggy, irritated, and downright exhausted. And your skin? It’s anything but flawless. You hardly have the energy to wash your face let alone put makeup on to try to make yourself more presentable. Think about that the next time you think you can survive on only a few short hours of sleep. Instead, make it a priority to get lots of sleep and to do it well. Turn off all electronics before bed and instead, take out a book to get yourself sleepy while resting in the comfort of your down comforter. You can also try meditation before bed or yoga to help ease your mind into blissfulness.

11 Stretch

Speaking of yoga, it’s a great way to wake up, too. But you don’t have to be a bonafide yogi to get the full benefits. Instead, you can simply wake up, stretch, and then get out of bed. Stretching helps wake up your muscles, which can help get your blood circulating so you aren’t stiff and in pain when you try to maneuver out of your bed. And once you are up, try doing a few stretches out of your bed, too. You don’t necessarily have to do a few downward facing dogs, but you certainly can if that’s your think. Otherwise, stick to the classic stretches of raising your arms overhead, stretching your calves behind you, and rolling your neck around opposite sides a few times. All of these simple stretches will have you warmed up and ready to move in no time. Plus, it will help circulate the blood flow and make your skin appear more radiant, too.

10 Morning Workout

Nothing jumpstarts a day quite like a morning workout. And it’s something to look forward to once your eyes open in the morning. Okay, so maybe it’s not something we all look forward to - we know many of us might look forward to getting more sleep - but it’s something to strive for. Get up out of bed and head out for a run around your neighborhood or roll out the yoga mat and perform a few stretches on there to help get the body moving. With this morning routine, your body wakes up and is able to get the blood flowing which can then help with your skin. You’ll find that after a workout in the morning your skin has a natural flushness to it that is youthful and radiant. So much better than if you remained immobile. So instead of getting those extra winks in the morning - you don’t need them anyway since you got a good eight hours of sleep at night, right? - head out the door and get moving.

9 Splash Cold Water On Your Face

Want an instant way to wake up your skin? Simply splash some cold water on it. Not only will it feel good but it will help get the blood flowing which will then make your skin appear healthier and more awake. This is an easy trick that should be used as often as you like throughout the day, but especially in the morning when you’re feeling tired and drained and need an instant pick-me-up. Before you take out the facial cleanser and start rubbing away last night’s sleep, be sure to turn the faucet to the cold side and splash your face with chilly water first to help get your skin up and running. It might seem harsh, but it really does the trick - especially when you’re in a rush and need to wake up fast or if your face looks so tired you don’t even think your best concealer can help.

8 Wear A Fresh Fragrance

Really? A perfume can really help with your everyday beauty routine? You bet your tight, spinner’s butt it can. An invigorating, fresh scent always helps make your beauty routine come alive - especially in the morning. You’ll feel better with just a few spritz of a fruity fragrance, which will then have you looking better. By enjoying the scent you are sporting, you’ll be able to walk with more confident and feel cleaner, fresher throughout the day. Bonus, you won’t get an annoying headache from a too-strong scent. You know the kind - the one that drives daggers in your forehead from a scent so strong even your grandmother wouldn’t approve. Stick with something easy and breezy (think: tropical and summer-inspired) and you’ll enjoy your scent to the fullest, allowing for an extra spring in your step each morning you get up and get ready to take on the day.

7 Wash Your Face With Gentle Cleanser

Washing your face with a gentle cleanser is key to your beauty routine. You don’t want anything that is too harsh on your skin leaving it looking red and raw. Instead, you want something that cleans deep without providing any harsh results. Use a cleanser that is gentle so you get the most out of it without ever overdoing it and one that’s packed with simple ingredients, not ones you can’t pronounce. A scrub is always good - especially when you need to sloth away some of the dead skin cells but it’s not always a great idea to use on a day-to-day basis. Use a scrub once or twice a week and then continue using something creamy that goes on smooth and with ease. If you’re looking for that deep clean only a scrub can provide but want to use something gentle, try a cleaning brush with your everyday cleanser to get the best clean.

6 Exfoliate Your Skin

When we talk about exfoliating your skin, we don’t necessarily mean only your face. While that’s a priority, the rest of your body needs love, too. Be sure to exfoliate your entire body to achieve the healthy, radiant skin you love and need. A proper exfoliant will help rid your skin of all the dry, dead skin that makes it look dull and cause some serious itch. Do this once or twice a week to help keep your skin looking and feeling it’s absolute best. On the days you aren’t using a scrub on your skin, be sure to use a gentle body wash that helps keep your skin clean but also hydrated, without causing any irritation in the process. You want to walk away with beautiful, moisturized skin every morning that doesn’t have a lot of razor bumps or dry patches, and following this beauty routine will help achieve that.

5 Moisturize Your Skin

On the topic of moisturizing your skin, it’s key that you use the right creams and lotions to achieve that. Sure, a decent cleanser and exfoliant can help you get the skin you want, but you have to use something to lock in the moisture and the right cream can do just that. Use a moisturizing cream every morning (and night) after your cleanse your face and apply your vitamin serums. This will allow everything to stay locked in all day long so your skin looks and feels amazing. No dry skin will bother you when you follow a daily routine such as this one, so your skin will look youthful and subtle. But it’s not just your face that needs to stay hydrated. Don’t skimp out on your body either. Use a thick lotion all over your body to help it stay moisturized all day long with your face, but that isn’t too greasy you feel like you’re about to slip out of your clothes.

4 Try A Toner

If you have never tried a toner, perhaps it’s time. While this isn’t necessarily a must-have in your beauty routine, it can help make your skin look even better. A toner can sometimes reach deeper into the skin, allowing for a more thorough clean. This is especially good if you don’t use a cleaning brush that targets deep into your pores or when you need some extra help taking off your makeup. A toner can wipe your face away clean without causing any issues along the way. It’s gentle enough that you can use it every day without any irritation, making it sort of a wonder product. You get incredibly clean and smooth skin without any awful side effects? Sounds like a winner to us. And if you have issues with acne? Well, a toner can help that, too. The right toner can rid oily skin and help target acne in a way that no regular cleanser can, which gives you even more reason to be onboard.

3 Rid Your Puffy Eyes

Puffy eyes are never a good thing. No woman wants to wake up and see that the skin around her eyes - especially underneath - is red and puffy. But the good news is, puffy eyes are usually a quick fix. If you’re prone to puffy eyes, you may want to invest in an eye mask that you can use when needed. These gel masks are great because you can stick them in the freezer and have them cool when you place them over your peepers. The cold helps calm down the puffiness so the skin around your eyes goes back to normal much faster. However, for those with the occasional puffiness can also try some easy at-home tricks, like using two slices of cucumber or cold tea bags to help rid the unwanted puffiness around your eyes in a jiffy. Puffy eyes aren’t sexy, but thankfully there are plenty of ways you can get rid of them early in the morning before you head out the door.

2 Slather On Yummy Scented Lotion

Mango, papaya, peach, pear. No, we’re not talking about the fruit you eat or a mixed margarita - although, that does sounds good, doesn’t it? No, what we’re raving about is fruity scented body lotions. Seriously, think about it. Nothing puts you in a better mood than a nice smelling lotion, right? While you need to stick with the proper moisturizers for your face - and chances are they don’t all smell like strawberries - you can go all out with the lotion on your body. But it doesn’t just have to be a fruity scent that achieves this goal. Use something with a hint of vanilla or a dose of lavender to help enhance your everyday beauty routine. The yummy scent will instantly put you in a good mood, making you appear happier and more confident. And after all, doesn’t your beauty routine start with you feeling good about yourself every morning? We think so.

1 Exfoliate Lips

Last but certainly not least, you have to keep your lips healthy and looking their best. Sure, a chapstick can help with the cracked, dry lips and a gloss can make those babies shine, but what about making them soft and subtle? The key here is using an exfoliant just like you use on your face and body. Your lips need to be exfoliated to rid away the dead skin they have and provide the luscious lips that are hidden underneath. Use a tasty sugar scrub dedicated to lips that will not only make them look and feel better but actually tastes good when ingested - and yes, this is the scrub that won’t hurt you if ingested. However, if you don’t have a lip exfoliant on hand, simply use a washcloth to rub away the dry skin cells before slathering on some chapstick. Your sexy new lips will be sure to thank you.
