Oh, the Kardashians. People always say that you either love or hate them, but sometimes it's not quite that simple. Sometimes the question is, do you have sympathy for them or not?

Even if you're not cool with this famous fam, you have to admit that they are human beings and they're not all bad. They go through ups and downs like anyone else and that means heartbreak, business failures, and all kinds of family and personal drama. Of course, they go through all of these things while living in the spotlight. All the money in the world can't make that any easier. 17 Bruce Becoming Caitlyn

While it’s inspiring and amazing that Caitlyn Jenner is embracing who she really is, her transition hasn’t been easy on her family, and it seems like there has been more than their fair share of family drama. Some of it seems kind of unnecessary. When Caitlyn published her memoir "The Secrets Of My Life" in April 2017, the Kardashians and Jenners thought that there were a lot of lies in there about them. At least, that’s what they heard around town. No matter how much you want your family member to transition as painlessly as possible and be themselves, it’s not an easy thing to deal with, and it’s even more so when you consider that they have been dealing with it while living in the spotlight.

16 Paris

The Paris robbery was, hands down, the WORST thing that has happened to the Kardashian-Jenners. There is really no debate about this.

Even if you're not usually a fan of Kim Kardashian (and there are definitely a lot of people out there who think that she is spoiled or stuck-up), you have to admit that you felt terrible for her when this happened. You're not a monster (well, hopefully not...). You had to feel for her. In October 2016, Kim was in Paris for Fashion Week when men came into her hotel room and robbed her. It was a seriously scary moment that took the pop culture and news worlds by storm. Some people even said that she and her family had made it up for ratings and press, which is a pretty disgusting accusation. For this famous family, it didn't get worse than this moment.

15 Lamar's Scare

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's romance didn't last. They got married in 2009 and their divorce was final in 2016. Although the two tried to make it work and even starred on their own reality show, Khloe & Lamar, it seems like romance just wasn't in the cards for them.

Everyone was pretty shocked when Lamar was found at a brothel in October 2015. He ended up in a coma and the whole thing was a total nightmare. He had kidney problems and even a few strokes. Talk about horrible. Khloe stopped divorce proceedings during this time and said it was because she wanted to be able to help out when it came to any choices and being his wife would make it easier for her to do so. Definitely not something that you want to go through. Khloe rallied around Lamar and so did the entire Kardashian family.

14 The Death Of Rob Kardashian

Hands down, the worst thing that has ever happened to the Kardashians is definitely when Robert Kardashian, aka dad to Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and of course Rob Kardashian passed away. In September 2003, he lost his battle with cancer, and it was a truly tragic moment for the family. Khloe has spoken out about this time the most and has said that her grief really affected her. She was around 19 years old at the time and that is a super young age to lose a parent. Of course, it never gets any easier and it’s always the most horrible news ever to get. He was best known for being part of the “Dream Team” aka the lawyers who were defending O.J. Simpson. David Schwimmer (aka Ross Gellar) portrayed Robert in the TV drama The People v. O.J. Simpson.

13 Kendall And Kylie's T-Shirt Drama

Oh man. Everyone hated hearing about this Kendall and Kylie Jenner scandal. It's pretty cringeworthy.

These two sisters are known for being fashion plates but this time, being stylish wasn't enough to save them from a sticky situation. They came up with t-shirts that had their faces on them, along with the faces of famous musicians like The Doors and Notorious BIG and Tupac. There are rumors that The Doors is suing them and there was quite the uproar. What was the problem? The Jenners never got the correct permission to use the photos of the musicians. Oops. That will definitely make people pretty mad. It's hard to know why they even did this in the first place, but regardless of their reasons, they did it and it hasn't helped their reputations.

12 Rob's Baby (And Baby Mama) Drama

Who hasn't heard about Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna's drama by now?! It's practically a novel-length story.

Basically, Rob fell in love with Blac Chyna and baby makes three and all that jazz. But things didn't go well from there. Last December, there was a massive scandal when Rob took to Instagram and Snapchat to claim that Blac Chyna had taken Baby Dream (and his chips... or Eggo waffles... it was a weird thing). It was confusing for fans and non-fans alike. No one really knew what to expect. This hasn't been good for the Kardashian brand since it's just a lot of drama and negative press. The two have been on again and off again for a while now, and apparently, the Kardashians don't love her since she has reportedly wanted to take the Kardashian name. As rumor has it, they're not about to let that happen.

11 That Pepsi Thing

This was not a bright moment for Kendall Jenner. When she starred in a Pepsi commercial, she probably thought that it would be a good thing. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. At all.

Instead, everyone thought that the commercial was making light of the Black Lives Matter movement, and Kendall got caught up in the controversy. Kendall has even recently said that this was a horrible thing for her. She talked about this on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and said, "I feel like my life is over." While that might sound dramatic, the criticism hasn't gone away, and it's not good. Anytime the Kardashian fam is in the press for something negative, it just adds fuel to the fire for all the critics.

10 Swollen Lips

Kylie Jenner is all about makeup. She seriously loves it. She even says so on her reality show, Life of Kylie. But things haven't been peachy keen for the star and her lip gloss.

Everyone knows about Kylie's lip kits. They're insanely popular. It's too bad that people have been manufacturing fake lip kits because people think that they are really Kylie's. It's become such a massive problem that girls are buying these fake lip kits... and their lips are getting super swollen. Like creepy swollen. It's really, really bad. This is a real business crisis for Kylie and on her show, she even goes to downtown L.A. with her BFF to try to see if someone is selling fake lip kits there. This isn't something that is going away.

9 Ballerina Fail

Yup, more bad news for Kendall Jenner. She's a professional model and up until recently, it seemed like her career was going really well and things could only go up from there.

But then... she starred in this Vogue shoot and dressed up as a ballerina. And people went nuts. And not in a good way. Why? What could they have been annoyed at? They were pissed off that the magazine didn't use an actual, real, professional ballerina instead of the star. People thought that it was a super insulting and a bad decision. No matter how you personally feel about the situation, you have to admit that this was a terrible thing that has happened to the star. The celeb is getting so much negative attention that Vanity Fair even wrote a story called "Kendall Jenner's Very Bad, No Good, Rotten April."

8 Kris And Photoshop

Kris Jenner looks amazing. She really does. Period. You can't argue with that. It doesn't matter if you're a fan of her family or not.

People weren't such big fans when they accused her of Photoshopping a photo that she posted to her Instagram account. The Kardashians get accused of Photoshopping photos a lot (seriously, just Google it...) but this is the worst accusation that Kris has gotten. People commented on the photo saying that she had totally gotten work done and that she wasn't telling the truth about her body. Ouch. You would think that people could just celebrate how hot a woman looks, but apparently not. That's just not how people treat others on the Internet these days... and it's definitely not how most people treat the Kardashian-Jenners.

7 Kim's Reputation At Stake

Since Kim Kardashian's tape is pretty much what brought her family the massive levels of fame that they have now, it's safe to say that she gets a lot of negative attention even to this day. She's pretty much the face of the family.

Recently, Kim has been dealing with some news that she really didn't want to hear. According to RadarOnline.com, Kim has been "partying hard." There are apparently videos that show this. The site has also said that she used to smoke illegal substances when she was dating Ray J. It's kind of hard to believe that Kim would do this, but hey, she's only human, so maybe she did. Either way, you have to admit that this has been a tough time for her since no one wants to hear those things about themselves.

6 Kim Couldn't Have A Third Baby Naturally

A few months ago, it came out that Kim and Kanye West are going to have a third baby via surrogate, and it's impossible not to feel for the star when it comes to this situation.

She has two beautiful children, of course, but unfortunately, if she was going to get pregnant for the third time, she would be in big trouble health-wise since she has a very serious condition. Hence, the surrogate. It's obvious that this has been a very sad, hard time for the celebrity and that this is one of the worst things that has ever happened to her. Unless you have absolutely no heart, you have to agree that no one deserves to deal with something like this, and that it's pretty heartbreaking to hear that a woman can't bear her own child when she really wants to.

5 Kourtney's Scott Drama

Oh Scott. Chances are, you used to ship these two and really wanted them to make it, but you have to admit that these days, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.

Scott has been seen out and about with tons of different girls pretty much all of 2017 so far. He has also been partying, apparently, and he's getting lots of criticism for that lifestyle. It's not a good look for him and it seems like this has been really hard on Kourtney. It must suck to see your ex (and the father of your children) with a different girl on his arm pretty much every day or at least every week. It's a lot. Seriously a lot. You probably still hope that they can reunite, though, especially if you're a hopeless romantic.

4 Khloe's Ex-Friend

Khloe has been talking lately about how a former friend of hers was taking things from her, and that definitely seems like one of the worst things that has ever happened to her.

How would you act? Well, that's exactly what Khloe wanted to know. She tweeted, "What would you do if you found out a friend was stealing from her?" She followed it up with, "Would you cut off the friendship and let God handle it? Or would you go the legal route?" This former friend was her stylist, Monica Rose, and it sounds like there is a lot of conflict between the two of them. It's pretty sad that this happened. It must be awful to not know who to trust and who is going to be a true or a fake friend. Of course, you can relate to that even if you're not famous since that's a pretty normal thing.

3 Rob's Many Scandals

Oh yes, there is a lot more to Rob's story than just the Blac Chyna drama. He has reportedly gotten into a lot of trouble and there is at least one time when he was accused of assaulting someone.

In 2013, he reportedly took a photographer's camera and also beat her up. That went away and he didn't get into any serious trouble. But, of course, that did some real damage to his reputation because no one wants to read that about a celebrity (or a non-celeb, of course). It's tough for him to get away from these stories and it seems like every day or so, there is a news article about something that he has done. And his Twitter account seems to be really stressing his family out, at least according to the media reports.

2 Khloe's DUI

It's common knowledge by now that Khloe got a DUI but it bears repeating since it must have been a really dark moment in her life.

In 2007, she was arrested, but she didn't have to stay in jail for very long. That got her a lot of bad press since people assumed that it was the typical celebrity thing -- you know, when they get released early because of what is often called "overcrowding." She was in jail for three hours. Yes. Three hours. Apparently, Khloe pretended to have a DUI all over again so it could be shown in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. As you can probably guess, no one was super thrilled with that, and that got people talking all over again.

1 The Many Heartbreaks

Like everyone else, the Kardashians have experienced their fair share of heartbreak. They've gone through it all, from super short marriages to on and off again relationships.

Let's start with Kim K. She infamously married Kris Humphries and it lasted a total of 72 days. Before that, she was married to Damon Thomas, and that wasn't a very long marriage. Khloe has gotten divorced, as mentioned above, and Kylie Jenner has recently broken up with her long-time boyfriend Tyga. And Kourtney and Scott Disick have had a super rocky relationship that seems to finally be over. So in case you were thinking that celebrities never get their heart broken or go through something really sad and tough, now you know that it doesn't matter how famous or wealthy you are because you can still be totally heartbroken.
