Both legends in their own right, when Chrissy Teigen and John Legend got together they inevitably created one of Hollywood's greatest power couples. At this point, they already have one of Hollywood's longest lasting relationships. This became even more meaningful once these two decided to start having children. Chrissy, known for being so honest on social media, has made no exceptions when it comes to documenting the ups and downs of getting pregnant and starting a family. Though we're sure it wasn't easy to share so much with the world, it's clear that Chrissy's honesty has already helped so many women struggling to begin a family.

We're so excited that Chrissy and John have another little addition to their family. Miles is absolutely adorable! However, having him has been a longer journey for Chrissy and John then you might think, and we're here to tell you all about it. From details about Chrissy and John's family planning to everything you might want to know about the extravagant congratulatory gifts Chrissy has gotten from famous friends, we've got you all covered on everything you need to know to keep up with the Legends. We'll even tell you the inspiration behind Miles' name.

15 Miles Was Born On May 16th, 2018, Making Him A Taurus

Chrissy first took to Twitter to hint at the birth of her son Miles. A few days later, Miles made his Instagram debut looking as peaceful and poised as ever on his mother's chest. As Us Weekly reports, Chrissy had already been tweeting for a while about how she was ready to get the baby out, so Miles came at the perfect time! Unlike a lot of celebrities that keep their newborns under wraps for years, Miles was only four days old when he was introduced to the world. Though we can understand why so many celebrities value their privacy, we also love that Chrissy is so willing to share her life with the world; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Chrissy is just as honest about the joyous aspects of pregnancy and motherhood as she is about the un-glamorous and stressful aspects as well. Just check her Insta! Miles, whose full name is Miles Theodore Stephens, is almost certainly going to spend his childhood in the public eye, but hopefully, he learns to embrace it the same way his mother has. It's certainly a little early to predict his future, but we're definitely excited to see how Miles turns out as he begins to grow.

14 He Was A Few Weeks Early

Chrissy is the first to admit: it felt like she was pregnant forever. However, the reality is that her son Miles was actually born a bit early. People reports that the model excitedly tweeted out about Miles, "He's a few weeks early so he's littttttle and makes the teeniest noises. We are in love." Though Miles was a bit early, fortunately, it does not seem that he was significantly early. Based on the pictures we've seen (and Chrissy's tweets) it seems like she gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby boy. So all things considered, it seems that Miles coming out early actually worked out sort of okay. On May 27th, Chrissy tweeted this; "I can't believe Miles isn't even supposed to be out of my belly yet. His due date was June 6th! You guys thought I was pregnant forever before..." It's strange how some pregnancies do feel like they last forever, but it is the better part of a year after all. We think Chrissy is also pretty happy that she got to meet Miles a little early, so perhaps she understood what people were saying about her being pregnant for so long? We imagine John and Chrissy did have to do some adjusting to their schedules, however. Chrissy teased John about being at the Billboard Music Awards a few days ago while she was home with their newborn, but we imagine this scheduling issue probably came up because Miles got here earlier than the couple was expecting. They seem to be handling it all pretty well nevertheless.

13 His Mom Received An Epic Gift From Kim Kardashian After His Birth

It certainly pays to have famous friends during important life moments, and Chrissy Teigen recently got to reap some of the benefits when Kim Kardashian sent her this extravagant gift. This epic floral ball just pretty much throws every large bouquet we've ever seen out the window. Chrissy's lucky she was even able to find a place for this monstrosity! She humorously captioned the pic; "Going to open a potpourri business in about one week taking orders now." Honestly, we think she'd be pretty set for that business venture for a while. We don't even want to think about how much this arrangement cost. Perhaps the arrangement was meant to send a message to both Chrissy and the world, however. As Bustle reports, Chrissy and Kim's respective husbands have been getting into it on Twitter over some outrageous comments Kayne made about supporting Donald Trump. Though the two have managed to patch things up somewhat, of course, there are those that have tried to pull Kim and Chrissy into the drama as well.  We think this extravagant bouquet was probably just a way of showing that despite whatever conflict may be going on between their families, these two are still friends. We're sure Chrissy is glad to have the support of one of her good friends during this time.

12 Miles Was Conceived Through IVF

Chrissy has been courageous enough the share her fertility struggles with the world, which in turn has helped plenty of women. She has been vocal about the fact that she and John tried to get pregnant for years without success before finally turning to in vitro fertilization for help. She told The Cut, "It's kind of amazing because you're like, 'Oh my goodness, I grew up my whole life trying to avoid pregnancy' and hearing stories about people in high school randomly getting pregnant the first time they slept with someone. But IVF really makes you appreciate that, my God, this is a miracle... Ours didn't work the first time, and it was devastating. " A lot of women have a hard time discussing their fertility struggles, and Chrissy should be applauded for helping normalize it. She has been willing to share so many aspects of her life on social media, and not just the good and the glamorous. The fact that she and John have two healthy children is even more meaningful and encouraging since people know how long of a journey it was for them to get where they are. We know how grateful she is to have had the resources to have the family she has always wanted!

11 He Is Chrissy And John's Second Child

They say time flies, and maybe it does, because it seems like just yesterday that Chrissy was pregnant with her and John's first child Luna. However, Luna is already two years old, People reports. Just like she has been with Miles, at the time of Luna's birth Chrissy was very honest about what the process was like for her. Not only was she open about her initial experience with the IVF process, she also openly discussed her struggle with postpartum depression after Luna's birth. Chrissy was pretty open about how nervous she was about having a baby, and Harper's Bazaar reports that she said this; "You know, we did IVF and it's kind of crazy because even though you do all this planning and preparation, you take progesterone and inject your body and do all this stuff - and when I finally did get pregnant I was like, ''Oh [shoot], are we ready?" We can't imagine that feeling ever goes away, having a kid is certainly stressful no matter what, but especially when it's your first one! Luckily Chrissy and John have done a great job with Luna, so we know what Miles is in great hands. It will certainly be an adjustment now that there are two kids in the mix, but we're confident these new second time parents will figure it all out pretty quickly. They can thank Luna for all that practice!

10 And His Big Sister Was Very Excited To Meet Him

It can be very difficult to bring a new addition to the family, especially when you have children that aren't old enough to understand what it means for them to have a new sibling. Overall, Chrissy seems to have gotten pretty lucky with Luna. While she was pregnant,  Chrissy admitted to Today that she wasn't quite sure how Luna would get along with the newest member of the family; "[Luna] sees that something is going on, but I don't think she's getting it." However as you can tell from the picture above, things seem to click for Luna once Miles was born. John admitted to People that the adjustment probably won't happen overnight; "[Luna's] used to having us to herself. I think she's starting to realize though that he might be competition. So in some ways, it's good because she's stepping her game up. She's more loving, she's singing louder, and dancing harder. She's making sure we don't stop paying attention to her." Sounds like Luna's already experiencing those eldest sibling blues. We're pretty optimistic that she'll learn to love having siblings as she gets older however, it's certainly nice having someone cover for you with your parents as you get older.

9 He May Have Another Brother Or Sister Sometime Soon

Parents with multiple children know that it can start to get stressful once they outnumber you, but that doesn't seem to be deterring Chrissy and John! Chrissy told Us Weekly; "I do want to have another baby and then get hot. I have a husband who truly loves the whole experience. He holds my belly at night, sings to it, wants to be there for me. I'm really lucky because some men start to look at you like a tool, I've heard, so I've been scared and don't let that happen to me! But it hasn't and it's really good." It's wonderful that Chrissy has a responsible, supportive partner to help her through all of the difficult aspects of being pregnant and raising a child. Although it makes sense for John to be there for her, unfortunately not all women have great support systems once they get pregnant. We can understand why she's more open to the idea of having more children since she knows that her husband will stick with her through the process. By now, both Chrissy and John probably know that they work pretty well together as a team, and they seem confident that they can handle three kids, or maybe even more. Chrissy admitted to Today' "I hope ( we have a lot of kids ) but it's expensive to live in New York." Makes sense to us. Even though they're wealthier than most, Chrissy and John are still pretty practical when it comes to considering the financial side of having kids.

8 John Didn't Want His Son Named After Him

Chrissy and John clearly decided to forgo the celebrity trend of picking unusual and unheard of names. Both their children have names that are somewhat traditional while being unique. However, Chrissy told Ellen that she considered a very traditional name for her son: John. Apparently, it was her husband John that declined this opportunity for his son to be named after him. She told the host, "Everyone was like why don't you do the J.J. thing, the John Jr. But John and his ego he was like 'I don't want him to feel like he has to live up to that.' and I was like 'Wow, you're a [meanie]. What a [meanie]! Oh sorry, Heaven forbid he does what you do.'" Though the story is quite funny, we can tell that Chrissy was just poking fun at her husband. Even when your father isn't a successful Grammy and Oscar-winning artist, it can be hard to get out from under their shadow if you have the same name. We can understand exactly why John wanted to give his son a new name and to be fair, "John" is probably a bit too traditional for someone who is growing up with two legends as his parents!

7 So Instead He Was Named After Another Great Musician

It's ironic that John chose not to name his son after himself because he felt it would be too much for him to try to live up to because Miles was named after another iconic musician. In an interview with E! News, John explained the inspiration of his son's name; "So Miles, of course, is the same name as the great Miles Davis. And Chrissy really liked the name Theodore, so we put it together and got Miles Theodore Stephens. When he came out and we hung out with him for a little while we were like, 'He looks like a Miles.'" It is a lovely name, but being named after Miles Davis is certainly a lot to live up to as well! It turns out that Miles was keeping up the tradition by being named after a musician, however. Chrissy did explain how she got her first name on Ellen; "...There was a blood moon happening, it was like a very beautiful night. Really big, vivid red moon, just gorgeous. I have this love for space and I think about space camp all the time and my days at space camp as a youngster and so I just thought Luna was perfect." Though her first name was inspired by nature, Luna's middle name is actually Simone, after the great musician Nina Simone. If Chrissy and John keep up this tradition, we can already start guessing what their third baby's name will be!

6 Miles Is Going To Be Spending A Lot of Time With His Grandma

Chrissy has been honest about the fact that there is a somewhat unusual arrangement at her house that helps her manage her busy life. The fact is, Chrissy's mom lives with her and John. But that's not all! Chrissy's mom is still married to her dad, who does not live with her and John. Apparently, he lives close by. She told Us Weekly; "He comes by every day...it just works for them. It's a good family life. We're all very close, very tight-knit." We are not unaccustomed to women having their mothers live with them once they have children of their own, but it unusual to hear of this case when the grandma is still married. Somehow, living apart seems to work for Chrissy's parents, although it seems to be because they all see each other very frequently. It is rather kind of Chrissy's parents to be so committed to helping raise their grandchildren after all their hard work with Chrissy! She told Popsugar; "It is so helpful to have [my mother] live with us. She's the most incredible grandma. Luna is so close with her...my mom is a kid at heart. She just has so much energy...Luna has a lot of love around her." We're actually kind of jealous! Though Chrissy's family's arrangement may seem unusual at first, it's nice that Luna has been able to group up with two supportive, hard-working parents and loving grandparents that she will also be very close to. It's even more helpful that Chrissy's mom is around now that she has Miles. They are all going to have their hands full!

5 His Mom Admits She Needs A Lot Of Help To Care Take Of Him And His Sister

They say that it takes a village to raise a child. Unfortunately, a lot of modern mothers don't have a village to turn to, but this expression doesn't come from nowhere. Especially when so many kids have two working parents these days, that metaphorical village is even more important. Chrissy is lucky enough to have this, and she recognizes that a lot of mothers don't. She told Parents; "I really want people to know that so many things go into all of these things. Having help. My mom lives with us. I have hair and makeup people. I'm not getting up and doing all this by myself...I have the utmost respect for mothers and single mothers who go to work and come home and make dinner. I do all these things because I have help. Luna goes down at 6:30 and has a nurse watch her, and I can cook dinner. " It's really great to hear Chrissy be so transparent about how she manages to be a working mother in the public eye. A lot of parents may see the glamorous aspects of her life and feel envy all the while wondering why they don't manage to have the seemingly picture-perfect life Chrissy has. It's good for these parents to know that Chrissy manages by having a large support system including a great husband, her mom, her beauty team, and the hired help she has. Obviously, not all mother can afford what she does, but it's good for them to know that they aren't supposed to be able to pull it all off seamlessly by themselves.

4 His Mom Says Miles' Birth Was Easier Than His Sister Luna's

It turns out second time was the charm for Chrissy because based on what she's said on social media, it seems that Miles' birth was much easier than her delivery experience with her daughter Luna. Chrissy took to Twitter to tell the world so with this tweet; "I can confirm that postpartum life is 90% better when you don't rip your butthole. Baby boy: 1 point. Luna: 0." Chrissy has always been good at finding a humorous way to talk about unpleasant things, but in all seriousness giving birth is a tasking process for anybody, and we can't imagine that it was easy for Chrissy to heal after such a difficult time with her first baby. We love that she's gotten to the point that she's able to laugh about it, and we bet she felt like a pro as she went into the delivery room at the same time. One of the positives of her difficult birth experience (aside from her healthy baby girl Luna) is that her experience could only improve from there, and fortunately, it did with Miles.

As her kids continue to grow, we're optimistic that Chrissy will keep us updated on all the questions about parenting that so many people wonder about but are too afraid to ask. We admire Chrissy for keeping her humor through it all, and for just being one of a kind. We think that she and John make an enviable duo, and obviously Luna and Miles will be very lucky to group up around them, and of course Chrissy's very supportive mom. We can't wait to see how these two turn out as they grow up!

3 His Parents Knew He Was Going To Be A Boy From The Start

Chrissy is no stranger to controversy. She has received a great deal of criticism for everything from the way she parents her kids to the Twitter wars she occasionally gets into. It's no surprise that people were unhappy about her discussing choosing the sex of her children, which is an advantage of the IVF process. Vogue reports that during her pregnancy with Luna, some were angry with Chrissy for saying this; "Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo." Despite people being outraged by the thought of Chrissy "picking" the sex of her baby, the reality is that she was simply picking out of the embryos available to her and chose the one that was a girl. Even if she'd chosen to be surprised, ultimately she still would have had to make a choice about which embryo to use for her first pregnancy. Additionally, since Chrissy and John want to have a lot of children, Chrissy has announced that they intend to also use her third and final embryo, so all she really did was pick the order in which her children would be born. In a way, it's nice that Chrissy and John knew the sex of the baby from the beginning. They did not have to deal with any surprises, and they knew what to prepare for. In an interview with Vogue, medical ethics expert Arthur Caplan defended Chrissy's decision to choose the gender of her kids; "The side effect of [IVF] is that you happen to learn gender...if you want to pick, you can pick. You're there anyway."

2 They Had Two Epic Baby Showers To Celebrate Miles

The couple celebrated not one, but two baby showers. Obviously, since his parents are John and Chrissy, both of these showers are pretty epic. It's too bad Miles won't have any recollection of it, but we will! People reports that Chrissy had a low-key, surprise baby shower a month ago, featuring close friends like Brooklyn Decker and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. According to Chrissy's Instagram, the shower was held at Kris Jenner's home and featured not one, but five different carrot cakes! Prior to this, Chrissy had a baby shower in NYC all the way back in February. Though it may seem extravagant, the baby showers were by no means Chrissy's idea; "I am crazy super anti-baby showers for myself. Opening gifts in front of people makes me want to die. Receiving gifts makes me very uncomfortable because I feel blessed to the max already and I really hate writing thank you cards with my poor penmanship." We think it's pretty sweet of Chrissy to not want all the attention on her and to recognize how much she already has. Still, it's nice that her friends want to celebrate such a momentous occasion in her life, and it seems like they did a good job of making sure to keep the celebrations intimate.

1 Miles' Dad, John Legend, Has A "Father Of The Year" Award

Is it any surprise that John Legend would win a father of the year award? To be fair, we know that people's expectations of fathers tend to be much easier to meet than what they expect from mothers, but we think John is a good father by any standard. The magazine, Fatherly, even declared it so by making John a "Father of the Year" honoree. The magazine reported that John has been 'dad-shamed' just hold carrying his daughter Luna by a commentator that didn't think the child should be carried. John is a pro at brushing comments like these off and his simple response was to "let parents be parents." John has also put a great deal of consideration into what sort of people he wants his kids to grow up to be. He told People that the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements have reinvigorated his desire to raise a responsible man; "...a lot of us are trying to figure out how to raise good men in this era where a lot of bad behavior by men is being exposed. We want to make sure we're raising young men that grow up to be kind and empathetic and emotionally intelligent, and also good leaders and successful in everything they do. So I'm going to try to do that [with Miles]." We're sure that the women around Miles will appreciate this upbringing as he grows older. Hopefully, he grows up to be like his father!
