Yes, I said it. I know many people tend to shy away from the plain black coffee, but if you have not tried it yourself in a while, just give it a chance! The bitterness is definitely an acquired taste, but over time, the bitterness will wake you up probably more than the actual caffeine. An iced black coffee during the summer, a nice blonde roast can really kickstart your day. A hot mug of coffee, maybe a medium or dark roast, can really set the mood for a cozy afternoon in the fall. Sip this while at work and I bet you will mark off everything on that to-do list, do not let anything stop you! This delicious way to start your morning might just change how you act throughout the day, maybe a bit more on your toes!

Trust me you will be surprised. So go ahead and try it yourself!

The warmth that is coffee is one of the best feelings and one of the best ways to have coffee enhance your life besides drinking it, is to smell it throughout the house! Waking up every morning and smelling the simple cinnamon swirl coffee recipe I provided below will make you want to bundle up and watch old movies with your pillows. So maybe save this special creation for the weekend mornings, because I guarantee you won’t be that productive after falling in a trance with this brew. Comment what movie you’d watch while drinking this cozy beverage, I need to know! I’m pretty sure I’d have a Harry potter Marathon or LOTR!

If you combine a pinch of cinnamon into your coffee grounds before brewing, add a bit more after the coffee is ready, combine with milk and brown sugar, you’ll be definitely making more than just one cup of this magical brew!

13 Soy Milk And Honey

With the smooth taste of honey and soy milk, this has to be a favorite on my list. This combo is a match made in heaven, a perfect blonde roast, freshly ground. Filling your senses with warmth, and the creaminess of the soy and golden honey will have you turning your nose up to any other coffee recipe. The consistency of soy milk is so uniquely different than regular whole milk, while on it’s own you can taste a hint of sweetness, mixed with this coffee combo it adds a richness and wholeness to the overall taste of the beverage. A spoonful of honey, all natural and organic mixed in until it dissolves really tops off the drink. If you’re more of a tea drinker feel free to try this out as well, equally as wonderful! Grab your favorite mug and create this drink, and trust me, you’ll fall in love!

12 Clove & Cinnamon

Imagine a spiced chai latte, but with coffee! The aromatic flower buds truly makes a difference in and of itself, paired with a pinch of cinnamon will create an aroma that will make your neighbors come knocking.

Chai is something I always turn to when I want something light and refreshing, the flavor profile is strong on the taste buds, but it’s something that will create a burst of flavor and tingles after every breath just after one sip. The transformation from tea to coffee is just as good. It’s a flavor profile that soothes and warms your soul. Clove can be paired with fruity flavors but also used in marinades in countries such as India. Taking the richness similar to stronger flavors can easily be used to enhance the boldness of a dark roast. For those of you who love the crisp bitterness of black coffee, add this recipe to your daily morning rituals. You’re welcome.

11 Turmeric

Yes, that little yellow powder. Turmeric has extensive health benefits and a flavor subtle enough that the coffee will mask it. Recently in the last few months I've become accustomed to using Turmeric and pretty much all my food recipes, so one day I thought to myself while I was making my morning coffee, why not add a pinch? The health benefits are basically longer than this whole entire article, anything from helping to cure cancer to asthma. The distinct shade of sulfur yellow can be spotted from a mile away. It's a unique spice to add to your everyday life and to make it a little bit more interesting add it to your morning coffee, feel free to add your regular milk and sugar along with it and it'll feel like your little secret help booster throughout the day. Out of everything on this list, this is probably the most beneficial item that you could add to your coffee so feel free to follow the steps above and let us know how it tastes!

10 Butter

You heard me right, butter! Bulletproof Coffee has been around for awhile, dark roasted black coffee blended with grass-fed butter. It’s a unique yet simple way to make your coffee a little bit more interesting and to make sure that it contains at least some health benefits. Inspired by places that have produced the classic chai latte and more, this little life hack has really influenced my life in a wonderful way. Since it was trending about a year-and-a-half ago everyone has given Bulletproof Coffee a try, if you had access to the internet, but if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon I suggest you actually try it out and I guarantee you'll love it. This recipe is such an easy and quick way to make your coffee you have a little bit more kick with this at home recipe. It’s even good with vegan butter! Just be sure to try to use organic butter since it melts at a different pace and I feel blends in with your coffee a bit more, just like milk or cream would add a bit of sugar and you'll be on your way to conquering the day ahead!

9 Cocoa Coffee

Who doesn’t love hot chocolate!? Please tell me, because I have yet to meet anybody in my life that will turn down a nice hot chocolate. One of the most perfect drinks for the colder months that just make you feel so cozy, both inside and out. My cocoa coffee recipe is probably the easiest on this list, all you have to do is grab cocoa powder from any of your favorite brands and add it to the grounds in your coffee maker. Soon enough you'll be smelling the richness of the chocolate mixed with the smell of coffee and you'll be in disbelief. With hot chocolate being one of my favorite drinks on this planet, and coffee being up there on the list as well, this drink just combines the best of both worlds.

Soon you’ll be cozy next to a fireplace with your favorite book and cocoa coffee! And yes, don’t worry, I’ll be jealous.

8 French Press

The French Press is one of my favorite ways to make coffee that will change how your day turns out. Making French press coffee is pretty simple, all you have to do is of course have a French press, remove the lid and the rod that has the screen attached, pour about half a cup of coffee grounds into the press, put the screen back over and pour your hot water over the screen and let steep for about 5 to 10 minutes. Pour into your favorite mug, take a sip. Done! Presto!

French press coffee is such a unique way to extract the flavor we’ve all come to know so well.

"As soon as coffee is in your stomach, there is a general commotion. Ideas begin to move... similes arise, the paper is covered. Coffee is your ally and writing ceases to be a struggle." - Honore de Balzac

7 Cold Brew

Via http://blog.gessato.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/5-things-you-need-to-know-about-cold-brewed-coffee.jpg

Don’t even get me started on cold brew. Too late I suppose! I just had my cup of cold brew coffee this morning actually!

Cold brew seems to intimidate most, everyone except those working at a local coffee shop! But you’d be surprised how easy it is to make correctly, it also includes a bit of preplanning so it might even make your morning flow a bit smoother! Cold brew coffee is the process of soaking coffee grounds in cold water for around 10-15 hours, basically overnight in your fridge! I’ve found that instead of buying an expensive cold brew set, using your French press with a built-in strainer for the grounds is the perfect money saving solution. Plus it’s multi-purpose!

It’s always best with freshly grounding beans right before the process, instead of using already ground coffee. It will release such a strong and flavorful richness overnight, it will power you through your day tomorrow!

6 Chai

Yes, the unspeakable!

I never thought of this odd combination until I left some leftover spiced chai in my coffee mug before pouring in coffee by accident. I didn’t realize I had done this until the very first sip. I was in shock, the spice from the chai had made my coffee come alive! It was such an interesting taste I couldn’t believe I haven’t seen this before on late night Tumblr binges! The next plan on my list is to try fresh tea leaves in my morning coffee, I can already feel the burst of energy!

So now every once and awhile I’ll pop in a spiced chai bag in my coffee, black or with my regular amount of almond milk and sugar. The possibilities are completely endless! I’ve stuck to a nice spiced chai while exercising this new caffeine ritual, but feel free to try other possibilities! I’m sure there will be something you’ll fall in love with!

5 Citrus

Something fresh and new isn’t just for summer! Even though summer has come and gone, the joys of summer will never be forgotten! Citrus is always something that wakes me up in the morning other than caffeine. I’ve scoured the internet for some sort of citrus coffee recipes, but with no luck there was nothing.

So what else is there to do except create my own. To do this I brewed fresh coffee, right after I’ve ground it so it locks in the flavor. Steamed some milk slowly on the stove, I used almond milk for a creamy texture. Combine with the coffee and zest some orange into your mug, use your choice of sugar and bam! This might sound strange, but it honestly tastes like candy! Just give it a quick try one morning, the zest doesn’t take much at all for the flavor to come through, so just add a little until it’s to your desired taste!

4 Peanut

Peanut butter cup, but with a kick! I’ve seen it all over, peanut butter coffee flavorings, peanut butter cup creamers, but I want something real, something that doesn’t taste artificially sweet in the morning, something a bit more natural. I’ve found that my favorite way to create peanut butter coffee is to combine in a blender for a beautiful frappuccino! Trust me, it’s not that hard to create either for a bit of a fun evening boost to help you finish your day! Or a perfect idea for a date night in, something easy to create together, but still just as rewarding!

All you need to do is combine a cup of cold coffee, a tbsp of peanut butter, a splash of almond milk, a cup of ice! Add some whipped cream for a topping if you’re feeling fancy! There you have it, a simple frappe that will taste just like a real peanut butter cup, count me in!

3 Caramel

Via http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/beverages/hot-drinks.aspx

Caramel coffee always strikes me as something that’s around in the fall, just everything from the taste to the color of the drink! Maybe because it’s hot here in California, but iced drinks even in the fall can make you feel cozy and warmed on the inside. This recipe is something fun to create for afternoons when the humid heat strikes. Get up in the morning to create this drink, so it’ll be perfect by the time you want to drink it!

When the coffee's still hot, pour in a safe container and add 3 tbsp of caramel, mix into the hot coffee. Also, add 2 tbsp of sugar as well, mix until everything is dissolved. Chill the container in the fridge until completely cool, will probably take at least 3 hours! Pour into a cup with ice and add a splash of almond milk for added creaminess!

Just add a bit of caramel to the top and get a straw, enjoy your drink, you can thank me later!

2 Pumpkin

Via http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2015/09/14/homemade-pumpkin-coffee-creamer/

A classic in the history of all fall drinks! This is the perfect recipe for something smooth to warm your soul. Pumpkin has always been a favorite holiday coffee flavor, and now with this simple recipe you can amp it up a notch in your own home!

Around this time of year, this is something you can find anywhere, pumpkin is pretty much a household item for fall drinks at the start of October. Grab your favorite coffee that is pumpkin flavored, brew like usual and to add an extra kick of flavor that does not seem like just boring coffee, add a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to your drink, add your regular amount of sugar and milk, There you have it, a cup of coffee that will make you put on your boots and take a walk on a sidewalk with fallen leaves crunching under every step!

1 Espresso

Bring out the trusty French press again, you guys should be good friends now, right? This coffee is the OG of coffees everywhere so it's no wonder it made it in the number one spot.

No, you do not need an espresso maker to enjoy a quality roasted espresso. Just follow along these easy steps using your stove-top and you will be able to enjoy an espresso in your own home!

First, you have to hand grind your own beans fresh, or grind them in a blender if it has that capability! Use the darkest beans you can find for a strong taste. Heat water on your stove about 200 degrees in a kettle. Add the grounds to your french press, and only add a small amount of water to help the coffee grow in richness before you add all of the water. Steep, then plunge your strainer down on the grounds, there you have it! Quality dark roasted espresso beat that!
