If you think about it, Hollywood may be the only place where dating another’s ex can be as nonchalant as borrowing a friend’s sweater. In other words, totally normal.
This differs greatly from us mere normal folk who would banish a friend if they dare break the sacred girl or guy code of dating each other’s exes.
Perhaps it’s because it’s slim-picking in Hollywood for genuine partners—or, let’s be honest, because one can simply not resist giving a relationship with John Mayer a try.
Either way, despite not every celeb having the same calm, cool and collected feelings towards friends dating their exes, there are a select few who consider it no big deal. Here, a look at these 15.
15 Taylor Swift
As the queen of dating practically every eligible bachelor in Hollywood, it was bound to happen someday that one of her celeb friends would hookup with one of her exes.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed that she would be totally cool with this happening. And, as it turns out, it currently is as close pal Gigi Hadid has been seeing Joe Jonas, Swift’s ex.
“It’s almost like the sisterhood has such a higher place on the list of priorities for us," she told the magazine. “It’s so much more important than some guy that it didn't work out with.”
14 Nina Dobrev
While Nina Dobrev may have had a steamy three-year romance with her co-star, Ian Somerhalder, she didn’t let the breakup come in the way of not only their friendship, but also the one with his new wife, Nikki Reed.
When asked about how she felt towards Nikki and Ian’s wedding, the former "Vampire Diaries" star said, “When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy and I am happy and so I don't see why there should be a problem with that.”
13 Selena Gomez
Following along with the advice of gal-pal Taylor Swift, actress-singer, Selena Gomez, also believes in not letting exes come in the way of friendship.
Gomez dated hunky “Twilight star” Taylor Lautner in 2009, only to have pressure from the media split them up. Lily Collins, an actress and close friend of the star, dated Lautner while they filmed their movie, “Abduction.” They broke things off just one week before the movie premiere.
While that relationship ended rather awkwardly, Selena and Lily are still close friends. They were all smiles and even holding hands as they left Rihanna’s Private Met Gala After-Party.
12 Emma Roberts
The actress, who recently called off her engagement to actor Evan Peters, has a pretty relaxed attitude towards friends dating her exes.
Take Alex Pettyfer, an actor and model, for example. The two dated briefly in 2007, keeping their relationship a secret until it was over. When asked about Emma, he said, “I don't know how to say it. She's a lovely, lovely girl. We had a spell of something that is over now, but we're on good terms,” he said. “She's beautiful, she's great; we're really good friends.”
Pettyfer went on to date former "Glee" star and friend of Emma’s, Dianna Agron. The two were co-stars on the movie, “I Am Number Four,” and made for a gorgeous couple during the year they were together. When they split, tabloids claimed that Dianna was “terrified” of a violent Pettyfer.
11 Joe Jonas
Way before singer Joe Jonas began dating supermodel Gigi Hadid, he was connected to Demi Lovato.
While he isn’t dating Wilmer Valderrama, Demi’s current long-time boyfriend, they do have a serious bromance going on.
At first, Demi wasn’t so cool with their friendship. In an ultra-honest interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, she revealed, “Nick [Jonas] and Wilmer get along great — Joe and Wilmer too. It’s weird. In the beginning, I was like, ‘Why the f*** are you friends with Joe?’ He was like, ‘He’s a cool guy.’ Yeah, I know. I dated him.”
Luckily, Lovato has since gotten used to it, with the guys remaining close friends and Wilder seemingly becoming closer and closer to putting a ring on her.
10 Jennifer Aniston
Since their days on the hit show, “Friends,” Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have been best friends on and off the screen. However, as it often happens in Hollywood, they both have dated the same men.
This was the case with Counting Crows frontman, Adam Duritz who dated Jennifer briefly in 1995. In a back-to-back move, he dated Courteney soon after. The relationship didn’t last long and it clearly didn’t affect the girls’ friendship as Courteney recently served as Maid-of-Honour during Jennifer’s secret July wedding.
9 Ashley Greene
What do Ashley Green and Blanda Eggenschwiler have in common? Why, it’s Joe Jonas.
In Jan 2014, whilst Eggenschwiler was still dating Jonas, the two former and present leading ladies in his life spent a day shopping together.
In a New York essay, he admitted to losing his virginity at the age of twenty, right around the time he was dating the “Twilight” star. “I’m glad I waited for the right person, because you look back and you go, ‘That girl was bats--t crazy. I’m glad I didn't go there.’”
Jonas and Eggenschwiler broke up in august 2014.

Before Taylor Swift admitted to being cool with friends dating her exes, Kendall Jenner was rumored to be seeing One Direction star, Harry Styles.
Their relationship was highly profiled in the media and was called off shortly after it began in 2014. As for Taylor and Kendall now in 2015, they’re still very much part of the same crew.
7 Justin Bieber
Despite the fact that both Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas have been hung up on Selena Gomez in the past, these two bros are still close friends.
Bieber posted a picture to Instagram of a broken Ping-Pong ball, along with the caption: “This was the ping pong ball after me slamming it on Nick Jonas lol haha.” Perhaps, letting out some pent-up frustration there, Biebz?
6 Vanessa Hudgens
This Disney star has dated her fair share of hunks in Hollywood, including “Hunger Games” star, Josh Hutcherson.
The pair dated when they were young, while friend, singer and actress, Victoria Justice, had a brief romance with him while filming the movie, “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”
5 Taylor Swift – Again
No surprise here that Taylor makes the list again. After all, she has dated a fair share of Hollywood hunks, including Taylor Lautner (maybe it was having the same name that tore them apart?).
They dated briefly and even were cast as a couple on the movie “Valentine’s Day.” Lautner went on to date Selena Gomez, which lasted for a brief while in 2009.
4 Kristen Stewart
Despite playing the role of each other’s siblings on the movie, “Twilight,” Nikki Reed and British hunk Robert Pattinson were rumored to have dated.
This certainly complicated things as, not only was Pattinson (Edward Cullen) destined to be with Stewart (Bella Swan) forever, but the co-stars had major chemistry and even dated off-screen.
Sadly, that relationship was on the outs after Stewart was photographed cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders. Pattinson is now engaged, while Stewart is happy with rumored girlfriend, Alicia Cargile.
3 Miley Cyrus
Keeping it in the Disney family. In 2006, wild-child Miley Cyrus dated Nick Jonas for a year before it was broken off due to them growing apart. In the next year, Selena dated Jonas on-and-off until 2010.
Despite claiming to have a strong connection, their relationship ended because of their conflicting schedules: she was scheduled to film a movie in Europe and he was headed off on tour with his brothers.
While Nick no longer keeps in touch with Miley, Selena and Miley have seemed to mend their friendship. They were spotted together singing karaoke at a birthday party for designer friend, Markus Molinari.
2 Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudson
Why date just one blonde bombshell when you can try your hand at two? This was the case with Alex Rodriguez, a New York Yankees baseball player who first dated Kate in 2009, then Cameron only a year later.
Us Weekly had reported that Kate was “pissed” over her friend dating her former flame. An insider said that Diaz was doing it to get back at Hudson who had hooked up with her ex, Justin Timberlake, only two days after they split in 2007.
Despite this, the pair seemed happy when posing together at a 2012 Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
1 Taylor Swift
While the friendship between relationship Taylor Swift and Katy Perry certainly resulted in bad blood (get it?), they were close friends, once upon a time.
Katy even dated Taylor’s ex, notorious bad boy, John Mayer. While it was reported that this was what began causing tension between the two, it wasn’t until Katy tried to reportedly “sabotage an entire arena tour.”
