The 2016 election will likely go down as the most controversial in U.S history. While criticism has been thrown at both candidates, it is pretty safe to say that Republican nominee Donald Trump has inspired more cringe-worthy headlines than any candidate ever before. From his failure to release his tax returns to the public to his divisive stance on immigration to the unsavory audio clips of him bragging about doing such terrible things to women, there are more than a few people totally unhappy with this choice for President. Among Trump's many detractors? That would be none other than a ton of famous people who would really like to stop Trump's vision for America from becoming a reality. They have been doing all they can to stop this, so needless to say, they have been speaking out a lot. Here are 15 celebrities who hate Donald Trump. At least he provided us with some enough content to write about!

15 Miley Cyrus

Say what you will about Miley Cyrus, but she completely nailed why the U.S. seems to be so infatuated with Donald Trump in an interview with Variety. "This is not a dig," Miley said. "But I do think there is something that goes with the Kardashians and Trump. The Kardashians are better than Trump because they are not trying to run the country. They are just trying to be famous, and that is fine We are obsessed with celebrity. When Trump started this, I was laughing. I thought it is not going to go anywhere. There is no way he will be the candidate.” Translation: Donald Trump is a joke, but we can't look away because, in a weird, twisted way, he is actually sort of entertaining. That is why Miley Cyrus and anyone else with a brain will be "with her" come election day, and that is pretty much an understatement.

14 Michelle Obama

The First Lady has definitely become a celebrity in her own right, so Michelle Obama has made our list of celebs who are not pleased with Trump. She has good reason to not be a fan -- like the fact that he accused President Obama of not being a U.S citizen --- but the leaked audio of him bragging about committing lewd acts against women really got her heated. Afterward, she gave a passionate speech to an audience in Manchester to not elect Trump. She said, "This is not something that we can ignore. It is not something we can just sweep under the rug as just another disturbing footnote in a sad election season. Because this was not just a lewd conversation, this was not just locker room banter." Near the end of her amazing and inspiring speech, she said, "This is not normal. This is not politics as usual."

13 T.I.

The rapper posted a scathing video to Instagram and spoke directly to Donald Trump to let him know that he's not here for him... and, nope, he never will be, either. "Donald Trump, this message is for you. My name is Clifford "T.I.P." Harris," the rapper says in the clip . "I say this as nonviolently but unapologetically as possible. F--k you and f--k what you stand for. Nobody who supports me will support you." In a caption underneath the video, the rapper further explained why he just could not support someone like Donald Trump. "...I WILL NOT BE FOOLED!!! I know u got plans for my people that are contrary to OUR BEST INTERESTS. Make no mistake... WE AINT ON THE SAME SIDE. Whatever U ARE, IM NOT!!!! Be CLEAR!!!! I have a family, I have children, I have ancestors that I WILL NOT LET DOWN." Yeah, that's pretty clear.

12 Grant Gustin

Grant Gustin will not vote for Donald Trump and he does not care what you think about it, and he wants to speak out about it, too. He is just not going to shut up. In early October, The Flash star reposted Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Instagram post about how actors should definitely voice their political opinions. Gustin captioned the photo, "I am a human that cares about the well-being of other humans and future humans. Not an actor trying to persuade you. This has just gotten scary and ridiculous. If me absolutely and overtly not supporting Trump 'loses another fan', we would not be friends anyway and I am ok with 'losing' you." Ouch! This firm tone is a sharp contrast from Grant's usual peppy posts, which consists mostly of selfies and photos of his dogs, so he must feel super strongly about Trump possibly becoming our next President.

11 Russell Simmons

Russell Simmons and Donald Trump were friends for 30 years before Trump decided to run for President. In an open letter to Trump, Russell stated that Donald has endorsed his books, let him fly his planes and even let his family stay in his house. In that same letter, Russell also shared that his decision to speak out against Donald's candidacy has "strained" their friendship. In an interview with CNN, Simmons said, "I've heard him [Trump] say racist things for 30 years... white supremacy, he is the epitome of it. He represents the image of white supremacy more than any candidate I have ever seen." He added, "There is a shift based on Donald Trump's presidency. There are things being said now that would not have been said a few years ago." Annnndd ... that is why friendship and politics don't mix. I mean can you blame him? Who would want to be friends with anyone like that anyway? We think this whole thing did their friendship a favor!

10 J.K Rowling

The beloved author is very invested in the U.S. election, like a lot of people (and even those who aren't U.S. citizens). She has never bitten her tongue when it came to expressing her opinions about anything, especially about Donald Trump. In December of 2015, the statement that Donald Trump was worse than Voldemort started trending. When BBC ran a story talking about the (hilarious) trend, J.K. Rowling, of course, heard about it. The popular author tweeted, "How horrible. Voldemort was nowhere near as bad." If you've ever read her amazing and crazy popular Harry Potter series, or even just seen the movies, then you know that Voldemort is the central, most vile villain of the entire series. For Rowling to basically say that Voldemort isn't as bad a Trump is about as big of a diss that she could ever throw his way. The Tweet, if you're wondering, has over 250 thousand likes and retweets, and is just one of the many reasons to love her.

9 John Legend

You will not often hear the words John Legend and Twitter beef in the same sentence, (because honestly he is the sweetest person ever and looks like a cartoon, in the cutest, happiest way possible) but that is exactly what happened when the singer got into it with Donald Trump. Jr. , earlier this year. The presidential hopefuls son first Tweeted, "Ha 5 students when asked why they were protesting could not even answer. The participation medal/micro-aggression generation is pretty sad!"John Legend then replied, "Donald J Trump Jr I think they were protesting your racist father. This is not complicated." Then, Trump's son claimed that Legend was being disgraceful and that he did not have any "education." To which, John Legend made the clapback of the decade: "The Donalds and I graduated from the same University, funny enough." That is definitely not the first time that John has spoken out against Donald Trump, and I have a feeling that he is not going to stop anytime soon.

8 Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen is, of course, married to John Legend, and it is definitely no surprise that she shares her husband's disdain for the Republican candidate. Almost as soon as Donald Trump's campaign started gaining traction, Chrissy started speaking out against it on social media, much of which has been ridiculously funny. There was the time that she called him the four-letter T-word or called his use of retweets "trashy." Once, Donald Trump himself did what he does best: insulting women. "Wow! Trashy gutter mouth woman. You can't hold a candle 2 @MelaniaTrump when it comes 2 beauty and eloquence," he tweeted. Chrissy responded: "lol poor Melania doesn't need to be dragged into this. She goes through enough already." She also said that if Donald Trump's life were a movie, that it would be called American Psycho. Don't you just love her even more? She is honestly the best ever.

7 Ricky Martin

Trump has faced a whole lot of criticism for his remarks against Latinos and his whole "build a wall" rhetoric. Some of that criticism came from Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin. In an op-ed column for Univision, the singer urged his fellow Latino to fight against Donald Trump's xenophobia: "The fact that an individual like Donald Trump, a candidate for the presidency of the United States for the Republican party, has the audacity to continue to gratuitously harass the Latin community makes my blood boil. Enough is enough! If we are united for some things we should be united for others. We have already shown the United States who we are and we cannot allow this behavior." "We have to defeat the power that Trump pretends to have over Latinos, anchored in low rhetoric and xenophobic speech, which his campaign team is convinced works for him. Donald Trump's response to Martin's criticism was that he was "totally, absolutely out of line."

6 Jennifer Lawrence

The Queen of not caring what people think of her and always speaking her mind, it is no surprise that Jennifer Lawrence made our list. Sometimes, less is more, and Jennifer Lawrence proved that when speaking out against Trump on The Graham Norton show earlier this year. When asked what she would say to Trump if she met him, she said, "F you." Brief. Simple. To the point. The actress also recalled the time that she had her security team searching for Donald Trump when she was at a concert: "I was adamant on finding him and making a video of me going, 'Hey, Trump, f--k you!" That wasn't even the first time that Jennifer Lawrence spoke out against Trump, however. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said, "If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world... I genuinely believe that reality television has reached the ultimate place where now even things like this might just be for entertainment."

5 Tamar Braxton

Tamar Braxton has never been one to bite her tongue. When she was still a panelist on The Real last year, she totally and completely lashed into Donald Trump and held nothing back. The singer started out by saying that someone with even a little racist views should not be running for office: That’s not what this country is supposed to stand for at all…With liberty and justice for all. We are a melting pot… There’s white people in my family, Mexican kids running around the house with Trina and them… And it’s like, we don’t talk about you know, ‘You’re black. You’re white. You’re Mexican. You’re other.’ Like, we don’t do that. Everybody is all one and the same!” She ended her rant with, “I’m just disgusted that somebody who’s running for president… You’re not even in the house yet. Let’s just say, God forbid, you become the leader of the free world and you are already setting the standard of how you gonna run. You are a racist! You are already showing everybody who you are.”

4 John Oliver

John Oliver got pretty tired of people comparing Hillary Clinton's shortcomings to Donald Trump. While the host of Last Week Tonight said that he does think that she has her faults, he does not think they even come close to Donald Trump's transgressions: "Think of it like this: Ethical failings in a politician are like raisins in a cookie ... They should not be there. They disgust people. But most politicians have at least a few raisins." He went on to say that Trump is a "raisin monsoon. He is ethically compromised to an almost unprecedented degree. So if you do not like raisins, I get it, they are disgusting. But unfortunately, this November, you are gonna have to swallow 10 or we are all going to be eating this s--t for years." Well, that is one way to put it. And that is definitely a super powerful way to get your point across.

3 Will Smith

It's pretty rare that you hear about the beloved actor getting into any celebrity feuds or really any drama at all. He's pretty chill and all about his family life, and he doesn't ever seem to voice his political opinions. But it seems that Trump's reckless campaign has forced him to speak out while promoting his latest film, Suicide Squad. Smith said, "As painful as it is to hear Donald Trump talk and as embarrassing as it is as an American to hear him talk, I think it’s good. We get to know who people are and now we get to cleanse it out of our country.” He also expressed his disappointment over Donald Trump's derogatory comments about women, calling it "insane": "For a man to be able to publicly refer to a woman as a fat pig, that makes me teary." That makes two (or a whole lot more) of us.

2 Robert De Niro

The famous and talented actor doesn't just dislike Donald Trump. Nope. He dislikes him so much that he would love to punch him in the face. In a video for Vice Exclusives, the actor expressed his disdain for the Republican candidate. He called him everything from a "punk" to a "dog" to a "pig" to a "bozo." And he finished with a super powerful message: “He talks how he'd like to punch people in the face?... Well, I'd like to punch him in the face. This is somebody that we want for president? I don’t think so. What I care about is the direction of this country and what I’m very, very worried about is that it might go in the wrong direction with someone like Donald Trump." He was basically saying that caring about the future means not voting for Trump (and voting for Hillary Clinton). Let's see if his message worked.

1 Rosie O’Donnell

Rosie O’ Donnell and Donald Trump's feud predates this election by pretty much a whole decade. In 2006, Donald Trump chose not to fire Teen USA winner Tara Connor for testing positive for cocaine and making out in a bar. In an interview published in O magazine, Trump said he believed in "giving people second chances." Rosie O' Donnell was not buying it. When the topic was brought up on The View, Rosie said, “He annoys me on a multitude of levels. He’s the moral authority? Left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair, had kids both times. But he’s the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America? Donald, sit and spin, my friend.” That was all that it took to set Trump off. He ended up calling her a "beast" along with "fat" and "pig" and "slob." Needless to say, that's one vote that Donald Trump won't be counting on.
