When it comes to super influential celebrities, the Kardashians are undoubtedly at the very top of the totem pole. Think about it: they have millions (if not billions) of fans and followers between them, an immensely popular reality series that centers around their high-profile lives, and more fame and fortune than any of us could even remotely dream of. The Kardashians have collectively achieved significant levels of stardom, and they’re super skilled at keeping our attention on them at all times. Each member of this elite family has solidified themselves as prominent figures of modern society and no matter how hard we try, we all can’t help but follow their every move. Due to their powerful position in the entertainment world, there’s no denying that the Kardashians are well-known trailblazers when it comes to setting trends. If the Kardashians give something their coveted stamp of approval, the odds are super high that it will be sold out within a matter of minutes. Although their opinions have a huge impact on popular trends we’ve all been guilty of following, we definitely could have done without a few of them. Here are 15 annoying trends we can thank the Kardashians for.

15 Waist Trainers

Possibly the most annoying recent trend that we can thank the Kardashians for is the waist-trainer craze. Let’s face it, the Kardashians are worth millions of dollars solely due to their image. Of course, tons of companies want them to promote their brands. Every time any one of the Kardashians or Jenners sends out a tweet or shares an Instagram photo, there’s no doubt they are ranking in some big bucks. These moguls have a huge following on social media, and it was recently revealed that a single post from someone like Kim, Kourtney, or Khloe costs upwards of $400,000. Since 2015, the Kardashians have been hawking a wide variety of waist-trainers and corsets with the false promise that these products will actually make you skinnier. Naturally, ever since Kim Kardashian and her sisters gave these silly contraptions their seal of approval, they have been selling out like crazy. All of the Kardashian girls have jammed themselves into one of these skin-tight corsets for the sake of a new social media photo at one point or another, and it seems like everyone else in the world has followed their lead. While most people understand that wearing a waist-trainer doesn’t necessarily guarantee a flat tummy, these ridiculous products definitely aren’t going away any time soon as long as the Kardashians continue to endorse them.

14 Lip Fillers

Kylie Jenner certainly wasn’t fooling anyone when she suddenly appeared to have substantially fuller lips towards the end of 2014. The teenage superstar initially denied tampering with her natural beauty, insisting that lip liner was responsible for her newly plump pout. Of course, she finally copped to getting injected with temporary lip fillers on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians last year, and the whole world has become infatuated with getting big lips ever since. According to one popular UK-based plastic surgery group, lip fillers received an astounding seven hundred percent increase in interest following Kylie’s not-so-shocking confession. Almost instantly, Kylie Jenner became an overnight sensation. Twitter users across the globe even tried to emulate her full lips by creating the #kyliejennerchallenge, a trend that took the world by storm. Kylie’s large lips have become so interesting that they have become a major factor when it comes to building her brand. Jenner recently launched her very own massively successful lip kit that has been selling out in a matter of mere minutes every time they become available online. Let’s face it, everybody dreams of having a perfect Kylie Jenner pout, and she totally knows it. Earlier this year, Jenner told Marie Claire mag, "I just do whatever I want to do, and people will follow." Kylie couldn’t be more right - and it’s because she’s single-handedly responsible for the annoying spike in popularity that lip fillers have received.

13 Belfies

Of course, we’re all super familiar with the term "selfie" but if you’re wondering what a "belfie" is then don’t worry, you’re not alone. This bizarre new trend has been catching on like crazy this past year, and we have none other but Kim Kardashian to thank for starting everyone’s incredibly annoying obsession. While a selfie can be defined as simply taking a picture of yourself, taking a belfie means snapping a photo of your own booty. Yup, this crazy concept has actually become a major fixation to millions of people, and it all links back to Kim and her trademark backside. Who could forget that infamous mirror "belfie" Kim took of herself posing from behind in a white one-piece swimsuit? That photo got tons and tons of attention, and the term for these scandalous snapshots was coined shortly after. All of the Kardashian women have become notorious for their show-stopping derrieres, and every single one of them has taken a belfie and posted it to social media on more than one occasion. Kim and Kylie take the cake when it comes to taking the ultimate ‘belfie’ photo, but this trend has become so ridiculous and overdone that we think it’s time ‘belfies’ took a backseat.

12 All Nude Everything

Of course, one of the big trends that we can thank the Kardashians and the Jenners for this year is the increased popularity of the color nude. During the rare moments when the Kardashians aren’t busy showing off their super famous birthday suits, they often opt for the illusion of nudity by wearing flesh-toned attire from head to toe. Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie are all serious supporters of this growing fashion trend, but it’s Kim K who rocks the all-nude everything look like no other. Kim is a frequent offender of stepping out in skin-tight nude tops paired with matching pencil skirts or body-hugging bottoms that look like they’ve literally been painted on. Kim has even gone as far as to wear a number of nude-colored body suits from time to time. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the reality star also infamously wore a flesh-toned latex getup when she had a cameo role in Fergie’s “M.I.L.F $” music video that debuted earlier this year. Don’t get us wrong, we think a healthy amount of nude makes a great addition to any wardrobe, but when it’s overdone or used incorrectly, this trend becomes too much for us to handle.

11 Lingerie As Daywear

Everybody wants to copy the Kardashians, but there are a few trends that only an elite group of celebs can even get away with rocking… and wearing lingerie in public is definitely one of them. This fashion-forward family has become huge fans of wearing their skivvies as casual day wear, and at first, it was kind of edgy and innovative. But seeing Khloe wear a black lace teddy with jeans at a red carpet event or Kim literally walking down the street in her bra and panties with merely a coat draped over her has become a bit too much to handle, even for us. While we can appreciate the fact that the Kardashians like to push the envelope in the name of fashion, some garments are just meant to stay behind closed doors. This sultry trend has become super popular this past year, but hopefully, in 2017 these ladies will step aside leave the lingerie wearing to their Victoria’s Secret model sister, Kendall. We all want to feel sexy every now and then, but there are better ways to do it than by showing off your naughty bits in skimpy bedroom attire all over social media.

10 Surgically Enhanced Behinds

If you had to think of a celeb with a great backside, the odds are super high that any member of the Kardashian family would rank high on the list. The Kardashians have made themselves famous due to their good looks and their sensationally sizeable bums, and the public had definitely taken notice. While there has been a widespread fascination with celebrities pert posterior’s for quite some time now, vast interest rapidly transformed into a full-blown obsession in 2014. That year was commonly referred to as “the year of the booty” – and for good reason. With big-name celebs like Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner showing off their larger than life bums, the number of people turning to plastic surgery to emulate their look reached astronomical numbers. By 2015, booty implants and Brazilian butt lifts had become the fastest growing types of plastic surgeries in the United States. Yup, you guessed it… we can totally thank the Kardashians for that. These ladies have put so much emphasis on having a super plump rump that it’s distorted how we view our own bodies. The Kardashian body type is what is considered to be “perfect” and “ideal” to many men and women who will stop at nothing to achieve this outlandish look, even if it means going under the knife to do so. There’s no sugar-coating it, this is just one annoying Kardashian-inspired trend that we can’t wait to see go away.

9 Latex

Not many of us would dare to go out in public wearing an all-latex getup, but the Kardashians have made a habit out of it. Kim Kardashian paved the way for this tantalizing trend after wearing a series of skin-tight dresses by designer, House of CB. The reality star has donned a number of latex pieces, including deep-plunging dresses and eye-popping bustiers. Kim even wore silver latex pants during Paris Fashion Week. We’ll give Kim credit; she’s fully committed to becoming a fashion icon, even if it means compromising comfort in a super constricting fabric. Not long after Kim made her love of latex known, other celebs such as Rita Ora, Amber Rose, and Khloe Kardashian were all seen wearing similar designs on the red carpet. As much as we love Kim’s eagerness to be innovative, the latex fad was only cool at first glance. After seeing so many celebs wearing practically the same dress only in different colors, we’ve gotten tired of the latex trend all together. While we hope that latex is on its way out, we can’t wait to see what Kim comes up with next.

8 Top Knots

If there was one signature hairstyle that dominated 2016, it was definitely the top-knot. Everyone can admit that the Kardashians have some seriously luscious locks, so seeing people try to mimic their style doesn’t surprise us one bit. The top-knot hairstyle has become all the rage this year, and it’s largely due to mega-celebs like the Kardashians. This half up, half down trend has become the go-to hairstyle for superstars like Khloe Kardashian, and fans have gone crazy for this popular new do. The look features a messy bun that sits on top of the head while the rest of the hair cascades down. Sure, this look was super cute at first, but it’s turned into the trend that just won’t quit. Celebs such as Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Duff, and Margot Robbie have all rocked this unique look, but it’s the Kardashian who really pushed it forward. Of course, this hot hair trend was fun and exciting in the beginning, but once the Kardashians took over there was just no turning back. This cute Kardashian-inspired hairdo has quickly evolved into a hair-don’t if you ask us.

7 Lampshading

Although you might not have heard the term "lamp shading" quite yet, you’ve definitely witnessed a Kardashian or two rock this annoyingly trendy look in 2016. Lampshading is a new style that consists of wearing an oversized sweatshirt typically paired with over-the-knee or thigh-high boots, so there's a vague resemblance to a lampshade. The mismatched trend has become super popular in the past year, and we have none other than the Kardashians to thank for their latest contribution to the fashion world. Though this look first appeared on the runway, it was the Kardashians who gave it new life by inducting it into their signature street style. The women of the Kardashian-Jenner brood absolutely love to step out in a baggy Yeezy sweatshirt with some sky-high boots. Kourtney and Kim, in particular, are the biggest advocates of this trend, and we have to admit, it does look cozy and somewhat chic. Other celebrities such as Kate Moss, Ariana Grande, and Gigi Hadid have followed in the Kardashian's footsteps by rocking this fad, and it has caught on like crazy. We appreciate the Kardashian’s efforts when it comes to making bold fashion choices, but this is one trend that has become pretty annoying.

6 Contouring

Kim Kardashian undoubtedly made makeup magic when she introduced us all to her infamous contouring techniques back in 2012. At the time, everyone was going totally gaga over Kim’s impeccable makeup routine and desperately tried to copy her signature beauty style. The art of contouring consists of applying various shades of concealer to your face to achieve a more toned and sculpted look. Thanks to Kim K, contouring became a massive makeup sensation almost overnight and a number of contouring products became staples to mainstream cosmetics lines. Since then, contouring has remained super popular among makeup mavens in the making. Even though Kim herself recently declared that she was over contouring and was into more natural techniques like “non-touring” and “strobing" this is one Kardashian-inspired trend that is definitely here to stay. Although it feels like everyone has attempted contouring at one point or another, even Kim Kardashian herself can’t seem to make this tricky trend go away.

5 Knee-Length Jorts

Are they jeans... or are they shorts? If you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians, you’ll know that they’re jorts, of course! Kim Kardashian can pull off pretty much any look, but let’s be honest, knee-length jean shorts just don’t look good on anybody. Kim has been a huge supporter of this trend making a comeback, and many of her fans and followers have tried to emulate this obnoxious fashion fad. All of the Kardashian and Jenner ladies have attempted to rock these awkward denim bottoms, but Kim is the biggest culprit by a longshot. Denim cutoffs that stop right at the knee were pretty popular in the 90s, and that’s exactly where this trend would have stayed if Kim and her sisters didn’t bring it back in full force. Although these less than flattering denims have seemingly taken on a life of their own ever since the Kardashians made them popular again, we’re hoping they will fade away into obscurity in favor of a less annoying style trend.

4 Super Sheer

Sheer clothing has been a hot topic in the world of fashion for many years now, but leave it to the Kardashians to take their obsession with see-through attire to a whole new level. Wearing an outfit that consists of sheer anything isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s bold, daring, and even a tad bit risky. Of course, being the mega trendsetters that they are, the Kardashians love to show off their famous figures in sheer apparel on a regular basis. While certain sheer pieces can be an audacious addition to pretty much any wardrobe, the Kardashians wear so much sheer that they’re practically walking around without any clothing at all. Naturally, Kim K is by far the most fearless fan and biggest influence behind this brazen fashion movement. In 2016, Kim has stepped out in a wide range of completely sheer dresses, tops, and even bottoms that leave her looking shamelessly exposed. While some people choose to rock sheer along with the appropriate undergarments, Kim prefers to parade her ample assets in plain sight. Don’t get us wrong, sheer can be sassy and super hot in small doses, but the Kardashians have made this trend totally annoying by taking it too far.

3 Bodysuits

In 2016, the one-piece bodysuit made a comeback in a big way, and the Kardashians played a substantial role in their rise to the top. The Kardashians know that there are few better ways to show off a curvaceous physique than by wearing a figure-hugging bodysuit. We can’t lie; we thoroughly enjoy a good romper or jumpsuit, but the Kardashian’s affinity for wearing full-fledged Catwoman-inspired bodysuits is borderline embarrassing on so many levels. Most of us know that when it comes to fashion, it’s best to wear garments that compliment your body. But when the Kardashians gave life to this rising trend they failed to realize that they look incredibly uncomfortable…and super unflattering. We’ve all seen Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and even Kylie rock this look on a number of occasions. Of course, there have been many times where these ladies looked great in their snug-fitting attire, but more often than not they’re living proof that most bodysuits are just plain wrong. Quite frankly, they ride up in all of the wrong places and they leave very little to the imagination. While we usually appreciate the trends that have been inspired by the Kardashians, we’ll have to pass on this super annoying fad.

2 Crop Tops

Crop tops have made a huge comeback over the last couple of years, and we have none other than the Kardashians to thank for perpetuating the belly-baring trend. Just when we all thought it was safe to assume that the crop top craze was officially dunzo after it’s rise to the top in the early 2000s, the Kardashians single-handedly brought this terribly tacky trend back from obscurity. We all know that the Kardashian and the Jenner girls love to show off their hard-earned abs, but we think it’s time they put this look to rest once and for all. These barely-there shirts can often be seen on Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, but it’s really Kendall and Kylie who seem to be giving this look the most longevity. Whether they’re pairing their revealing shirts with hip-hugging skirts, super short-shorts, or a comfy pair of yoga pants, the Jenner girls clearly rock the crop top more than any other stars we’ve seen. We get it: you’re young, famous, and gorgeous you want the whole world to know it, but we wish these teeny tiny tops would become nothing more than a distant memory already.

1 Overexposure

With the colossal rise of social media over the recent years, it’s no surprise that people all over the world have developed a tendency to over-share even their most intimate moments with people they’ve never even met. There’s little denying that the Kardashians have played a huge role in the idea of overexposure actually becoming "cool." Think about it - the Kardashians make sure to put every little detail of their private lives on full display. Whether they’re filming scenes for one of their reality TV shows, sending out Snapchats or getting photographed by the paparazzi, every move they make is heavily calculated to ensure maximum exposure. This family believes that any kind of publicity is good publicity. Of course, these celebrities aren’t the only ones guilty of making overexposure a trend. Millions of people have followed their lead by putting entirely too much information about themselves online in hopes of gaining followers and becoming Insta-famous. This has totally become one super annoying trend, and we have the Kardashians to thank for it.
