His full name is Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales. The younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, more familiarly known as Prince Harry, he has always been successful in making front page news thanks to his flirty antics. From the moment he was born, his life has been recorded, photographed and documented – as a result, we not only know about the one time that he wore a swastika but are also well-aware of the other time when the royal bachelor went to Las Vegas and ended up getting his kit off! Needless to say, the public also knows a lot more than they should about his will-they-won’t-they relationships. Now, being a good-looking, charming man, who also happens to be a prince, one can hardly be blamed for knowing how to play the field.
However, over the years, Harry has transitioned before the public eye from a troubled, naughty party boy to a hardworking royal – boasting of a combination of charisma, confidence, accessibility and a great sense of humour – as has his taste in women, quite naturally! Here’s a list of 15 such women – from charity workers to rock singers, let alone royalty – who have fallen prey to Prince Harry’s charms from time to time.
Even though the "Burn" hitmaker has shrugged off speculations around her romantic involvement with the prince, snaps of their cuddling backstage at the Invictus Games tell a different tale. Ellie Goulding had performed at the royal wedding and also at Harry’s 30th birthday party – and it is a well-known fact that they are in fact very good friends – good friends, who did not quite know that people might be watching even as they were getting cosy at the games in London. Then, there is also the point that Ellie looks uncannily like Harry’s ex Chelsey Davis. Speaking about her relationship with the royals, the pop star told Elle Magazine: “[In America] I always get asked done a few things since. Honestly, it still surprises me that I know them.”
British actress Jenna Coleman may have maintained her sense of professionalism when she was quizzed about her alleged relationship with Prince Harry but her pictures with the royal bachelor have led some to speculate that there’s more to their “friendship”, especially after they were spotted getting cosy after a charity event. They were with a group friends but Harry reportedly grabbed her hand and led her outside to the patio area where they were seen cuddling on a sofa and talking until the wee hours of the morning. According to onlookers, there some serious flirting going on. “It was a very flirty, very tactile encounter. She was leaning into him and he had his hand on her knee. From their body language, it looked like they were really enjoying each other’s company,” a source was quoted saying.
When pictures of Harry Potter beauty Emma Watson and prince Harry looking like a million bucks started breaking the Internet, we could only daydream over how magical it would be if the two ended up in a picturesque happily-ever-after. Spurious reports of the two secretly dating began doing the rounds – they were both single after all. He was said to be smitten with the British actress but she set the record straight by laughing off the claims. She took to Twitter to express exactly how she felt about the speculations. She tweeted: “WORLD Remember the little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?” She then went on to add: “Also… marrying a Prince is not a prerequisite for being a Princess.”
Actress and model Cressida Bonas runs in the same social circles as Harry and was already friends with his cousins, Beatrice and Eugenie, much before she and the prince got into a relationship. However, she caught the royal bachelor’s attention only after his relationship with Chelsy Davy came to a halt. They started seeing each other after Princess Beatrice introduced them in 2012 and their association lasted for two years. They were first spotted together after the premiere of Dark Knight Rises enjoying post-movie drinks at Le Salon. They went on to vacation together and even attended Cressida’s sister’s wedding as a couple. She was also seen accompanying Prince Harry at one of his charity engagements, a couple of months before they officially split.
If the grapevine has it right, Prince Harry had at one point nurtured a massive crush on Jennifer Lawrence. Back in 2015, a source told the American OK! magazine, “Harry thinks Jennifer is a girl after his own heart, very chill and out for a good time but he is also looking for a serious relationship and is ready to settle down. And the way he’s thinking right now he could end up with a Hollywood wife.” However, the Oscar-winning actress reportedly shot down the royal heir after he asked her out on a date – involving a dinner and a private tour of Kensington Palace – via his personal secretary. Apparently, the prince had been a great fan of J-Law since the Hunger Games and was hoping to get to know her personally, but sadly it didn’t work!
Norwegian singer Camilla Romestrand, who fronts the UK-based band Eddie The Gun was linked to the prince back in 2010 during one of his off-again streaks with Chelsy Davy. The rock star reportedly told friends that she had stayed overnight at the royal residence Clarence House more than once and on those occasions Harry had served her breakfast in bed. A source told Britain’s News of the World: “She’s confided to a few friends about her friendship with Harry. She talks about staying overnight at ‘the Palace’. She says he was a ‘total gentleman…” adding, “she doesn’t want to talk openly about Harry because she’s worried it will overshadow her music.” The relationship obviously didn’t go much further than a short-lived fling and according to Hello magazine: “Nobody dumped anyone. It was a mutual decision.”
Socialite and swimwear model Florence Brudnell-Bruce enjoyed what one might call a “summer fling” with Prince Harry back in 2011. The two, who are distant cousins, got together in May after the prince broke up with his on-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy. According to The Sun, the pair had been having “secret trysts” and spending time together at her London home in Notting Hill. However, Florence reportedly ended things by August that year because she was frustrated and upset with his wandering eye. A source close to Florence, told The Mirror: “She felt he had a wandering eye all the time and she wasn’t really into not knowing who he was flirting with or talking to when they were apart. So, she ended it… Call it a summer fling. They both enjoyed themselves but [she] wasn’t interested in taking things further.”
She may call herself Prince Harry’s “bit of rough” in her autobiography – Storm In A C Cup – but Caroline Flack maintains that she didn’t really have a “relationship” with him. The X Factor (UK) judge was linked with the prince back in 2009 and the couple was spotted together a few times before things fizzled out. They dated for a couple of months, united by their mutual love for night life and clubbing until the tabloids broke the news of their relationship. “Once the story got out, that was it. We had to stop seeing each other,” she says. Flack also claims that the media made her out to be some kind of a villain, dragging the prince into seedy clubs and making him stay out all night. “I was no longer Caroline Flack, TV presenter, I was Caroline Flack, Prince Harry’s bit of rough,” she writes.
According to The Sun, the royal heir was spotted “in a clinch” with the former Miss Edinburgh at the Tonteria nightclub in Sloane Square, sparking rumours of an alleged relationship. They were also reportedly holed up for a week in a secluded villa on gorgeous island of St Tropez – right after Harry had suffered another break-up. It is possible that Camilla Thurlow met Harry while working for the charity, The HALO Trust, of which the prince was a patron. A source told The Sun: “They looked very cosy and kissed more than once. But they are not serious in any way. They’re just two young people having a good time.” However, neither party ever confirmed the relationship and Camilla has responded to questions by saying: “A lady never tells!”
When the prince started frequenting London’s bars and clubs in 2003, TV presenter Natalie Pinkham was often seen by his side. The duo hooked up from time to time after meeting at the Rugby World Cup in 1999 but hell broke loose when pictures of the couple in a rather compromising situation appeared on the internet in 2006, years after they had reportedly split. The ill-timed photo showing a drunken Harry groping at her breasts caused an embarrassed Natalie to retreat from the public eye for a few years before breaking into television journalism. She believes it was one of her trusted friends who sold the photograph and describes the theft as “the most massive betrayal of her life.” A source told the Daily Mail: “Those pictures were private and never left [Natalie’s] possession. The actual photographs are still locked away in a box at home.”
British pop singer Mollie King was introduced to Prince Harry in 2010 during a polo match in Surrey’s Hurtwood club. In early 2012, the third in line to the throne was spotted getting dirty on the dance floor with her. The Saturdays singer had however, initially denied dating the hunk even after pictures of them dancing at the London dance club Bunga Bunga broke the Internet. Posh, pretty and blonde, she was certainly Harry’s type – all fresh and ready to dive headlong into another fling just after her break up with model David Gandy. However, in a situation reminiscent of Harry’s liaison with Caroline Flack, after their night out was made public, the prince cooled their fledgling romance. Mollie later confirmed to Closer magazine, “We did go out for a drink.”
Named as one of the world’s most eligible bachelorettes by Australian tabloid Tatler, Princess Maria-Olympia of Denmark caught Harry’s eye when she was just 19 years old. They were introduced by the prince’s cousin Beatrice and had reportedly gone on a number of dates following their first meeting. According to New Idea magazine, the couple was also planning on a skiing holiday together in Switzerland early last year. The magazine also claimed: “Harry has fallen head over heels with Maria-Olympia. He’s absolutely smitten,” and went on to suggest: “Wills and Kate love Maria-Olympia and think she’s Harry’s best girlfriend yet. They can’t believe how happy and settled Harry is thanks to [her] being in his life – before she came along, he always seemed quite restless, but now he is much more content.”
The world has been shipping Pippa Middleton and Prince Harry ever since they became royal in-laws and why not, given the unquestionable chemistry between the two. Today, Pippa may be happily married to Hedge Fund manager and chief executive of Eden Rock Capital Management Group, James Matthew, but it’s common knowledge that the prince and Pippa get along like a house on fire. The prince even has a secret nickname for her. He calls her “Commando” – a name that may lead many to think that the prince might actually have the answer to one of the most disturbing speculations sparked at the Royal Wedding – whether or not the Duchess’s little sister wore any knickers underneath her clinging gown! Pippa, on the other hand, prefers referring to him as “Captain” because of his Army rank.
Suits actress Meghan Markle and the prince were introduced by common friends when Harry was in Toronto to promote the 2017 Invictus Games. According to US Weekly: “They had gotten on when they first met…then developed romantic interests and before you knew it, they were texting every day.” Soon Meghan became a regular visitor at Harry’s home in Kensington Palace and the duo even started hanging out at Meghan’s Toronto apartment. A source close to the prince has also revealed that Harry may have wedding bells in his mind. “It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s already thinking about an engagement… The problem with Harry is when he falls, he falls hard. He goes in big time,” the source told Popsugar.
