In Hollywood you don't often come across a star who hasn't had any "work" done. The daily pressure of being photographed the second you step out the door is huge. Those who are not looking their very best will often feel ridiculed or beaten-down in the press. It's no surprise then that even the youngest of stars are turning to cosmetic procedures to hide the tell-tale signs of premature ageing and exhaustion.
A tough schedule can affect you emotionally but also in your physical appearance. Not getting enough sleep, dehydration from partying too hard or a poor diet can lead to early wrinkles and dullness of the skin. Sometimes it's easier for stars to cover up these blemishes with Botox or a lot of makeup but there are always the beady-eyed amongst us who can still spot the dreaded lines.
Ageing of the skin often doesn't take place until the late-thirties. However, there are the unlucky few who begin to appear dowdy and drained before they have even hit their 29th birthday. The following stars are all big names, young and struggle with wrinkles.
Jwoww claimed last year that she is willing to do anything that will make her look good. The 28-year-old Jersey Shore star told People magazine that she was concerned about early signs of ageing. She said, "I'm getting up there in age – I'm about to be 30. I don't like wrinkles". Although she has these concerns she did stress that she's not willing to go overboard with cosmetic surgery as she is just a "Plain Jane Mom" at heart.
The new mother of one is the face of Australian Gold tanning accelerator. Constant exposure to UV rays can cause "photoaging" which turns skin into a more leathery form and causes wrinkles. If Jwoww really wants to slow down the process of ageing then she might have to give up on the tanning beds.
13 Megan Fox
Megan Fox is considered one of the most beautiful actresses in the world. But the 29-year-old Transformers star really did stick her foot in it when she posted on her Facebook page: Things You Can't Do With Your Face When You Have Botox. Using a series of pictures she began frowning into the camera to prove she had never been close to a needle.
This vanity campaign backfired terribly when medical professionals started weighing in and dismissing her claims. Social media forums went crazy with comments from Doctors who claimed the star had photoshopped the photos as: "Muscles in the forehead and brow simply don’t create curved wrinkles like that." Another expert noted that this is the pattern her wrinkles would be likely to make when the Botox starts wearing off. Tough luck Megan, you're just going to have to admit to ageing like everybody else.
12 Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton is another star who destroyed her looks during her younger years by living a reckless lifestyle. Heavy drinking, smoking and excessive tanning has caused the 34-year-old to age rapidly and she knows it.
The heiress is said to use Cle Diamond State Peau eye cream every day to try and keep her wrinkles at bay. Just one tiny tube of this product costs around $250. It is also believed that she indulges in Swedish face creams which cost around $500 per tub. Although she is no longer the reality television star she once was, this will not stop the blonde from trying to grab the limelight and hold onto the thrill of fame.
The golden rule to staying youthful is to keep away from the cigarettes but try telling that to 27-year-old Adele who has claimed it's her favourite thing to do. Tobacco speeds up the normal ageing process of the skin and sucking on cigarettes throughout the day can lead to heavy wrinkles around the mouth.
The Someone Like You singer had a big shock in 2011 when she was forced to cancel a string of tour dates as she needed an operation on her throat. She was told by doctors that she would have to quit smoking or be forced to give up her singing career. With no new music released in nearly five years it might be obvious which option Adele went with.
10 Keira Knightley
Another celebrity guilty of destroying their skin with an addiction to cigarettes is Keira Knightley. The 30-year-old British star has been a big name in Hollywood for years and also the face of Chanel perfume. Her looks and youth remain at risk though until she quits the nicotine for good.
Although Knightley looks like butter wouldn't melt she is not afraid of nudity as she posed topless for Interview magazine last year. Her first ever nude scene on screen was when she was just 15-years-old, her mother had to be present during the shoot and the entire set was closed off. It's the big risks that she has taken in her career that has launched her to leading lady status today.
9 Lauren Conrad
There are many celebrities who are constantly sporting sunnies so they can avoid the dreaded crows feet around the eyes. Someone really needs to pass this tip onto 29-year-old Lauren Conrad. The Hills star has struggled with wrinkles around the eyes for years now and a fan even wrote an open letter to the star about it.
Conrad has always fiercely denied rumours in the press that she has had Botox, chin implants and breast implants. The star, who recently became engaged to singer William Tell, prefers to keep her look natural despite how many fan letters she receives commenting on her skin.
8 Vanessa Hudgens
When Vanessa Hudgens was just 21-years-old she revealed to Scotland's Daily Record that she had already began using wrinkle cream. She said, "I'm already starting to use anti-aging. You might as well start sooner than later because products are really amazing these days. You might as well start now, put a little lotion on rather than having to get wrinkles".
It's clear that in Hollywood your looks will help carry you through your career. Now at 26-years-old the Spring Breakers star, although not all wrinkles have disappeared, she certainly has benefited from beginning her regime early on.
7 Amanda Bynes
Former child star and troubled actress Amanda Bynes has transformed her looks over the past few years with constant trips to the cosmetic surgeon. Followers of her social media account slowly watched as the 29-year-old as she went through the whole process. She had a breast augmentation, pierced her own face, and underwent several Botox treatments to reverse the signs of ageing.
6 Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is not even thirty yet but the Bad Romance singer already has a trick up her sleeve for a home-remedy facelift. She uses a facelift tape which lifts the skin around the cheekbones higher up and allows her to appear more youthful and natural without having to go under the knife.
It's not unlike Gaga to hide her any damages to her skin under a costume mask or heavy, bizarre make-up. Her last tour ArtRave: The Artpop Ball had seen her perform 79 shows including five in Asia, thirty in Europe and thirty-eight in North America. Long-term jet lag will leave the skin appearing damaged but luckily she has her trusty miracle tape close by.
5 Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke, better known as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, admitted to Allure.com that she suffers from very sensitive skin. In 2013, she told the online magazine, "My normal stuff is Dr. Perricone's hypoallergenic range. I have incredibly sensitive skin, so I struggled to find anything because my skin would react to so much stuff. I cleanse, tone, and moisturize twice a day, every day".
Unfortunately for the 28-year-old actress she is often under heavy make-up for shooting which is now ageing her skin quite rapidly. It might be time for the 5ft 1" star to find herself a new skin care regime. She still looks great now but sensitive skin can take quite the hit when being covered in various products a day.
4 Kit Harington
Ladies, would you like to know the way to win Kit Harington's heart? Well you can start by not calling him good-looking. The Game of Thrones star who plays Jon Snow in the series stated in an interview with Page Six news that he can't stand being objectified by women.
The 28-year-old star said, "To always be put on a pedestal as a hunk is slightly demeaning. It really is and it’s in the same way as it is for women. When an actor is seen only for her physical beauty, it can be quite offensive". Must be the stress of being considered attractive by fans worldwide that is causing all his premature wrinkles.
3 Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan has aged so terribly over the past few years that it is tough to remember that she is only 29-years-old. Everyone's favourite celebrity car crash looks more forty than nearly thirty and there are numerous lifestyle changes she would need to make to regain her youth.
Alex Karadis, one of Britain's leading cosmetic surgeons, called Lohan out a few years ago in Closer magazine explaining that her wrinkles were caused by late-night drink binges. He said, "She looks at least ten years older. Those deep creases on her forehead are probably caused by a combination of things, including sun damage, smoking, and too much boozing, which dehydrates and ages the skin".
2 Harry Styles
21-year-old Harry Styles is recognized across the globe for his dashing looks and often listed as one of the most gorgeous stars on the planet. When you are one forth of the most famous boy band in the world then your skin will be constantly placed under heavy make-up and hot lights for concerts.
So how does he manage to keep those early signs of wrinkles at bay? Well, the answer is nightingale droppings. For $300 this popular Hollywood treatment will see you smeared with the excrement which is said to be a wonder facial for clearing up acne and wrinkles. It is more natural than Botox and apparently Victoria Beckham swears by it.
1 Cara Delevigne
Cara Delevigne has been the most sought-after model ever since she first burst onto the fashion scene in 2009. Not satisfied with just catwalk domination but the 5ft 7" beauty has now turned her hand to acting and will star as Enchantress in Suicide Squad next year.
Keeping such a busy diary has taken it's toll on the 22-year-old's skin and when she isn't holding a perfect pout those wrinkles become a standout feature. How does she try to reverse the ageing of her skin? She told the Daily Mail newspaper that she uses a secret $150 treatment. The London born star said, "'My skin gets worse during the shows because of all the travelling, so I prepare at the beginning of the season by having Venus Freeze Face Lift Facials, which zap heat onto your skin".
