It was January 7, 2012 when the world was blessed with Blue Ivy Carter, the firstborn child of power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Since marrying in 2008, and dating for almost a decade before that, fans couldn’t wait until the famous couple welcomed children. It was even more anxiety-inducing given that Bey has been open about the heartbreaking miscarriage she endured a few years before welcoming her daughter.

Although Bey and Jay have since welcomed twins Rumi and Carter into the world, Blue continues to be the most talked about Carter child. Blue is often photographed walking the red carpet with her famous parents and has made appearances on their tracks and in their music videos, making it clear she’s getting ready to take on the family business. Blue may be only seven years old, but she’s seen and done things that most normal folks can only dream of. And it sure doesn’t seem like the kiddo’s life is going to be slowing down any time soon.

Given how wealthy and well-known her parents are, fans bet there are a lot of things Blue can get away with. But with that being said, her mom is known to be strict about certain things. Keep reading to learn what surprising things Blue is allowed to do, and what Beyoncé says ‘no’ to!

19 Wild: Blue Is Already Making Music (And Music Videos)

Given that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are huge in the music industry, we’re expecting Blue to pursue a career in music when she’s old enough. It turns out she already has experience with dabbling in the industry!

Blue has been featured in some of her father’s work. Her vocals are featured on his track “Legacy” from the album 4:44. Blue can also be heard singing in the bonus track “Blue’s Freestyle” for the same album.

For Blue’s 6th birthday, Jay-Z subsequently released a music video for the bonus track that features an animated version of his daughter singing and performing ballet. She’s also made appearances in her mother’s videos for the songs “Formation,” “Blue” and her dad’s music video for “Family Feud.”

18 Wild: All Of Blue’s Gowns Are Custom-Made

The outfits that Beyoncé rocks are literally worth thousands, and it sounds like the celebrity wouldn’t have anything less for her daughter when Blue joins her parents on the red carpet.

There have been plenty of times when the kiddo has shown up to events in custom-designed gowns worth a small fortune. At the 2016 VMAs, for instance, Blue made headlines for rocking a stunning metallic Mischka Aoki dress, which reports said was worth around $11,000. We can only imagine what Blue’s entire closet must be worth!

17 Wild: Blue Also Has Her Own Stylist

If you think getting custom-made gowns designed for you at the age of seven is bougie, then you likely won’t believe that Blue has her own stylist. But it’s true.

Last year, news broke that Beyoncé had tasked New York-based stylist Manuel Mendez to specifically attend to her daughter’s dressing needs. Manuel is employed by Bey’s management company Parkwood, which is how he got the gig.

According to Daily Mail, Manuel has been working with Blue for the last two years after her parents thought it would be too chaotic if she shared a stylist with them (Bey is regularly styled by Ty Hunter, while her father uses June Ambrose).

16 Wild: Blue Is Already Launching A Beauty Line

There’s a reason why Beyoncé and Jay-Z have already trademarked their daughter’s name - they’re planning to start building an empire for her! Back in 2017, reports began circulating that the famous parents were in talks to create a line of beauty products using Blue’s famous name.

“Beyoncé is planning to launch a line of Blue Ivy Carter products after the now pregnant singer's company recently applied to trademark her daughter's name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office,” Elle reported at the time. The beauty line will reportedly feature everything from perfume to hair care.

However, considering we haven’t heard anything about the line since the 2017 headlines, we’re not sure if this plan is still in motion or not. Wouldn’t you be down for some Blue Ivy makeup, though?

15 Wild: Blue Can Make Dressing Room Demands

Both Jay-Z and Beyoncé have been taking their children on tour since they were born. But evidently, the Carter children are so used to life on the road that their parents have no problem with them making dressing room demands. And Blue Ivy’s demands sound even more diva-like than Mariah Carey’s!

According to TMZ, dressing rooms while on tour must always have “organic whole milk” and an “assortment of juices” available for the young child. In addition, the entire room must be child-friendly. “The entire suite must be childproofed with all corners, sharp edges, and electrical outlets all covered, and statues, lamps, and breakable objects removed,” a source told the publication.

14 Wild: Blue Is Treated Like More Of A Friend Than A Kid

Blue Ivy may only be seven, but evidently her famous parents are treating her as wiser beyond her years. Well, that’s at least how her grandmother, Tina Knowles, sees things.

While speaking to E! News, the famous momager said that Blue often perceives herself as one of the adults - and it doesn’t sound like Bey or Jay are doing much to correct her.

"She's with her parents seven days a week and, you know, that's such a blessing that she can be with her parents all the time. Sometimes she thinks she's a friend more than the kid," Tina explained, before adding that Blue certainly runs the Carter household.

13 Wild: Blue Is Allowed To Call Out Her Parents

Blue is definitely developing sassy behaviour if the few videos we’ve seen of her are any proof. The famous child has made headlines for calling her family out on multiple occasions, which has made fans draw comparisons between Blue and her grandma, Tina Knowles.

This past April, Jay-Z revealed that Blue had recently got upset with him in the car when she told him to change the tone of voice he was using. “I turn around and she said, ‘I didn’t like when you told me to get in the car the way you told me,’” Jay-Z recalled, as The Standard reports. “She’s 6! ‘It hurt my feelings,’ [she said.] And I was like, ‘That’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me.’”

Last May, Blue also caused a stir when a video showed her telling her grandmother to put her phone away during a ballet performance, with the six year old telling her that filming was not allowed. Blue sure isn’t afraid to speak her mind!

12 Wild: Blue Got A Horse For Her 2nd Birthday

What do you buy for the child who already has everything? A stallion will do if you’re Beyoncé and Jay-Z. To celebrate Blue’s 2nd birthday back in 2014, the elaborate parents evidently spoiled their firstborn with a gorgeous horse.

According to TMZ, the parents dished out $75,000 for the lavish birthday gift after the then-toddler had expressed interest in owning one. “Blue loves animals and expressed interest in having a horse, so they bought her one,” a source told the publication. We can only imagine how much it costs the family to take care of the horse!

11 Wild: They Trademarked Blue’s Name

Beyoncé and Jay-Z showed the world they meant business when they tried to trademark Blue Ivy’s name shortly after her birth. According to Daily Mail, the parents were initially unsuccessful since there was already a business that existed with the name Blue Ivy.

However, the parents have simply started to trademark their daughter’s full name - Blue Ivy Carter - instead. They’ve applied Blue’s famous name to a variety of uses and products, including fragrances, beauty, fashion, and entertainment. Reports have said Bey and Jay are even considering launching a children’s sportswear line with their daughter’s name.

If one thing is for sure, Blue will be ready to launch her empire when she comes of age!

10 Wild: She Gets Her Mom To Perform At School Functions

Most kids want their parents to steer clear of the schoolyard. But we guess things would be different if your mom is Beyoncé. Evidently, the pop star has performed at her daughter’s school before, which was probably the coolest school fundraiser ever.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the 2016 charitable performance was kept a secret until the event. During the appearance, Bey sang several of her classic songs like “Crazy In Love” and “Halo,” and even performed a cover of Whitney Houston’s “I will Always Love You.”

"About 20 minutes before she went on stage there were rumors that Beyoncé would be performing - but no one was 100-percent certain until she actually walked out," a source told the publication.

9 Wild: She’s The Boss Of Her Younger Siblings

Blue Ivy had so much time with her parents as an only child that many fans wondered how the kiddo was going to adjust when her twin siblings, Rumi and Sir, were born in 2017.

Although Blue’s parents have said she’s an amazing big sister, her grandmother once admitted that Blue is still the “Queen Bee” when it comes to her and her siblings.

“Blue [Ivy] is Queen Bee — she’s the second queen,” Tina Knowles told Page Six. “For the twins, the girl [Rumi] is really going to rule the world, and the boy [Sir] is kind of laid-back. He just chills like his dad.”

8 Strict: Blue Has To Work With A Confidence Coach

Now, we’re sure that Jay-Z and Beyoncé have staff for everything, but a ‘confidence coach’ was the last thing we’d think of. According to Star magazine, Blue’s parents require her to work with the professional on a regular basis.

“When Blue was born, Beyoncé and Jay Z were committed to giving her all the self-esteem they themselves lacked as kids,” a source told the publication. “The Confidence Coach uses drawing, dancing, singing, sculpture and child-centred books such as A Doll Like Me, I Like Myself! and Amazing Grace to build Blue up.”

The insider added, “Like most kids, she used to be really shy, but now she’s so outgoing that other mom friends of Beyoncé want lessons for their girls too!”

7 Strict: She Has To Do Groceries With Her Mom

Although we assume that Beyoncé usually has staff to fill her pantry, there have been a few times when the celebrity was seen doing her own errands - and often Blue is right alongside her helping out.

Last year, photographs showed the pop star shopping at Target with Blue. The photos showed Blue helping her mom unload things from their cart at the cash register.

Of course, fans started freaking out online. “Beyoncé is in the store. Beyoncé! Beyoncé! Beyoncé!” one fan wrote online, Hollywood Life reports. “bro [I'm] so freaking sad right now :((( my sister ran into Beyoncé at target up in LA,” another wrote.

6 Strict: Blue Has To Be Surrounded By Nannies At All Times

With rumours floating around about just how many nannies Beyoncé and Jay-Z employ for their children, it’s not surprising to hear that the parents have a strict rule about having a nanny around at all times.

According to Star magazine, it’s common for Blue to be escorted around by up to three nannies on a regular day. "The employees all follow a strict regiment as outlined in a work agreement entitled 'Daily Program for Blue Ivy as per Mrs. Carter,'” a source told the publication.

They added that Blue also has her own security team and chauffeur who she uses daily (and which has annoyed her school during morning drop-offs).

5 Strict: Blue Can Only Eat What Her Chef Prepares

Leave it to Jay-Z and Beyoncé to hire a personal chef only for their seven-year-old daughter. The couple has hired a cook whose only job is to prepare food for their oldest child.

According to Daily Mail, Blue has developed a reputation as a “picky eater,” so fans shouldn’t be quick to assume the chef’s job is a relatively easy one.

The publication added that Blue’s chef often tries tempting her with “whole-wheat pasta shaped like ballet dancers and pureed asparagus.” But he can only offer the kiddo “healthy” options, as per her famous parents’ instructions.

4 Strict: Blue Goes To School With A Security Detail

Given how famous Bey and Jay are, we guess it’s only normal that they’d be worried about the safety and security of their children. But evidently, the parents go overboard when it comes to Blue’s security team. They won’t let her attend her elementary school without security escorting her!

“A security motorcade drops her off and picks her up from school,” a source told In Touch, adding its angered other parents at the school. “There are two cars and three bodyguards! Beyoncé and Jay Z have made things a huge hassle. Other celebrity kids get dropped off by one driver, not an entire staff.”

3 Strict: Blue Has To Take Language Lessons

It sounds like Beyoncé and Jay-Z are definitely serious about their daughter’s education. Not only do they have Blue enrolled in one of the prestigious schools in Los Angeles, but the seven year old has been receiving lessons in different subjects from private tutors for years.

According to Daily Mail, Blue has taken lessons in French and Swahili. Her parents have also enrolled her in art lessons. Aside from that, Bey and Jay dish out a whopping $19,000 per year for private school, which Gwyneth Paltrow recommended to them, Romper reports.

2 Strict: Blue Has To Control Her Social Media Presence

Fans of the Beyhive know that there’ve only been a handful of times when paparazzi have snapped photos of the Carter children out and about. Otherwise, we’ve had to rely on red carpet appearances and whatever Bey and Jay post to social media to get a look at their children.

Every time Beyoncé has uploaded a photo of Blue, the kiddo has looked dressed to impress. She’s often rocking coordinating outfits with her famous mama (or outfits her stylist put together). Either way, it’s clear the Carter family likes to tightly control their presence in the media, and they’re teaching Blue the tricks of the trade.

We’re guessing Bey and Jay will be even more strict when it comes to Blue’s social media habits when she inevitably gets her own social media accounts.

1 Strict: She Has To Go On Tour With Her Parents

Given how much Beyoncé and Jay-Z are on the road for work, it’s no surprise that they take all three of their kids with them. While that may seem like a pretty cool opportunity, we imagine it gets more difficult for Blue to constantly be on the move and away from her friends. But this is one thing her parents don’t sound like they’ll be compromising on.

Last June, sources told People how Bey and Jay were planning on taking their twins on tour alongside Blue for the first time. “They are incredibly excited. It took a lot of work to make this happen. It’s the best choice for their family,” the insider explained. “They will all travel together and have a fun family adventure.”
